I emailed my representative, who voted for the current bill, and said I was sure he would waive his Congressional pension and all other government benefits, otherwise he was just a hypocrite.  I tried calling Paul Ryan to leave the same message, but his phone system hung up on me.

Or even, to find out if they're actually a citizen or have a green card. In a 2018 ICE round up in TN, ICE came in and arrested every Hispanic person on the site, including some citizens and some with green cards.

Fortunately, for the moment, those people could get released once they had a hearing and could produce their documentation. For the moment.

That's the thing, No due process = no hearing.  A citizen could get picked up in an ICE raid and kicked out without a chance to prove their citizenship.  When due process is taken away from anyone, it can be taken away from everyone.  That's a line in the sand.

I blame it on all the years he's run his exclusive golf clubs. He's used to setting the entry bar high (you need to be rich enough to blow $100,000 a year in golf club memberships), having the final say in who can and can't join (have to keep out the riff raff) and if someone proves to be not such a great guest, you can call security and boot them out on their ass, no questions asked.
