So this e-ticket. I only need the Expedia app and the screen that shows the ticket #?
Unfathomable!

I would personally go through American if you're flying American, regardless of where you book. Expedia will likely route you there anyway.

I booked the flights last December through Expedia.

They should have American flight numbers. I've not flown using Expedia so no experience with that.
I like to have my ticket printed. I've seen people have trouble pulling them up on the phone or getting them to scan.

Don’t put anything embarrassing in your carryon in case you have to pull it out for inspection - sex toys, sexy lingerie, 😱
Also wondering about those who can’t go without a water bottle for an hour or so.

Okay. I did figure out how to print the itinerary off the Expedia site. It has the ticket numbers.
I did download the AA app and the United app (return flight). I cannot get the ticket information to show up on there though.
Also, it won't let me check in for the flight. Probably because that's not for several more days, right?

It's an anxiety thing for me. I'm pretty sure we will all die of dehydration or I will have to buy water. Whichever one happens will make me mad. I keep a flat of water in each car.

I have never been able to check in for a flight until 24 hours before a flight.
I book directly with the airline and they send an email that it is time.

If you need a paper ticket, go to the american airline website and enter your information along with the booking code that Expedia has given you, so you can actually check in and print your tickets.
American airlines is big enough that they will usually have an agent or two at the airport and you can also use the booking code and credit card that you used at the kiosks. Just give yourself enough time to get to the airport.

It is too early for you now. The only thing you need the itinerary for is to tell you when your flight leaves. But it is not written in stone. IMO, 9/10 times, you’ll be notified of a flight time change. Usually it is just a few minutes, but occasionally I have needed to rebook.

We discovered this, when I bought airline tickets on my card but TD pulled our flights up on at the kiosk on his card. No need for booking code with card either.

You can’t anymore and because baggage handlers steal, don’t put anything in there you care about.

I'm pretty sure if you do lock it that the lock has to be TSA approved. They will break locks if needed. I never have anything of much value in my checked bag. Clothes, shoes, toiletries, maybe some booze if I've been overseas. I've never locked a checked bag.
Valuable things like my laptop always stay with me in a carry on bag..

True- and on the FlyerTalk boards I've read of even TSA locks just being broken open instead of unlocked.

Don't wear shirts that that have sparkle elements or brads. Don't think those are the right words but hopefully you get what I mean. Again they have metal elements and you may get an extra groping.

Worming in here: Can you/should you lock checked luggage? I don’t bother. Locks are useless. I don’t put anything of value into a checked bag. Jewelry, meds and electronics are all with me in my carry on item.

There is plenty of water available to buy at the airports and scores of water fountains too. You will be fine

Do you still need to remove your shoes? (plan accordingly if you do). I know I've seen guys remove their belts (because of the buckle). And I think jewelry too - watches, metal necklaces, bracelets, etc.

I find it easier to use slip on shoes while travelling. Makes security check so much easier.

Pre-surgery (I set detectors off 100% of the time these days), I went though a detector and kept setting it off. All jewelry was off, the only thing left was my bra.....and the hair clip I had holding my hair off my neck. I totally forgot it was metal. That clip was enough to set things off. I get groped all the time.

I bought the tickets so my brother got pre check since I have it. At BWI for pre check I've always gone through the metal detector not the body scan thing. He wore steel toe boots so those had to come off.

Normally, they’ll open up a scanner if none is open to avoid having to wand and grope me. If I do have to go through a metal detector, I tell them up front I will set it off and need a female assist. TSA seems to appreciate the head’s up.

They have one in the section but they put most of the people through the metal detector. Sometimes they have asked if I had implants that would set it off.

Sigh. All of my non-sports bras are underwire. Then wear a sports bra on the plane. You'd be amazed to see what people wear while travelling. Sports bra is innately decent under your regular clothes

Most underwire bras these days are not wire, but plastic. I’ve broken enough of them.

I've got tons of underwire bras. Until a very recent policy change I went through a metal detector on my way into work every day. Never set it off.
