Thanks, Tenn Ok, coming up a year , What serious things have come out of this? The break-in at the Democratic National Committee offices at the Watergate Building Complex took place on June 17, 1972. Nixon resigned on August 9, 1974. At the time of Nixon's resignation, the investigation was still ongoing. During that time frame various people were charged, convicted and sentenced for minor and major crimes. President Ford ended the investigations by granting Nixon a pardon on September 8, 1974. The Watergate investigation took over two years to complete.

It works differently when there are actual crimes and wrongs involved, and real prosecutors who know how to build a case.

Lol! Starting to lose it? Trump can see "losing it" in the rear view mirror. No he can't. Nobody has eye sight THAT good!

I think there is so much crap everytime they turn over a rock more and more comes out. I can't
even imagine somebody being involved in all that shady looking stuff and not be dirty. But which
mess do you go after? It's a nightmare I'm sure but I wish he could move it along faster. Hopefully
this will do it. Yep, always dragging Hillary in, notice they all hate Obama but can't accuse him
of any wrong doing. That must kill the trumpsters.
Just heard another will resign, homeland security adviser is resigning, another hits the dirt.

How long has this investigation been going on? a year and a half? At this point what has been found? A couple have lied to the FBI, What serious stuff has been found ,, Like what person has so far been given a short jail sentence. Pages and pages of guesses and accusation,, but so far the has been nothing Earth shaking going on,, Why do you get back to this when you have something. A complicated case involving one of the most important and powerful individuals in the World...let alone a country...so as the Pyramids weren't built in a day...this case is similar...one stone at a time.. When the investigation is finally finished then a ruling on it will be made...seems it is getting close to closure...to call for it to be ended is premature, except by the one who is most important and his supporters...for him...to have it over is best...a non fact finder best...For his supporters...leaves their guru still on top , whether he deserves so or not...for them, the good of the nation is their least cared about ending...to keep the one they support at the top of his powers , whether good or bad for the country itself , is what is so important thus the bleating's of them to end the investigation, fire the head of the investigation is what we hear...ad nausium..

Interesting article. Why Robert Mueller Handed Off the Michael Cohen RaidThe special counsel might be insulating his investigation against his own potential firing. The FBI raided Michael Cohen’s office and hotel room on Monday, and what we know about who did the raid is just as important as the information we have on why they did it. The raid was by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, and not directly by Robert Mueller’s special counsel’s office. Mueller’s team referred the case to the U.S. attorney, but the U.S. attorney sought the search warrant and received it only after establishing probable cause. In searches of such high-profile and sensitive subjects, U.S. attorneys usually need approval higher up in the Department of Justice. Why might this U.S. attorney’s office have been involved? One answer is the most basic: a raid of at least two locations simultaneously—office and hotel—requires a lot of bodies and coordination. If you need that many FBI agents, you already need to coordinate with the local office for it to go smoothly. Former prosecutors say that Mueller might have referred this raid to the Southern District for logistical reasons alone. But he still chose to refer the investigation to this U.S. attorney’s office rather than simply use their logistical support. Entire article here: Why Robert Mueller Handed Off the Michael Cohen Raid

Place your bets. I'm going with tax fraud. accepting money from foreign governments wins my vote. You may be right. Apparently they are investigating (among other things) if Trump accepted $150,000 from the Ukrainians to do a 20 minute skype talk while he was running for office.

Sometimes I go on Fox News and read the comments after their articles just for fun. Right now, the current objections seem to run in two flavors: 1) Stormy Daniels happened 13 years ago, so who cares (overlooking that the problem is not Trump having sex with Stormy, but paying her $130,000 during 2016 to not talk about it, which might be a campaign violation), and 2) if they're going to raid Trump's lawyers offices, why aren't they also raiding crooked Hillary's offices, too? (On the theory that for every action against one political party, there must be an equal reaction against the opposite political party, I guess - maybe there's some kind of scientific law about that...) Oh, and 3) Fire Mueller and all the democratic ghouls leading this witch hunt (overlooking the fact that Mueller and all the DOJ/NY people involved in this raid are almost all GOP members, and some of them Trump appointed GOP members).
I guess Obama and/or Clinton somehow did some kind of poison laced into the pizza these guys are eating at work which mutates all the good GOP Trump toadies into flaming liberals or something.

Not that I condone trolling, but if you're going to be rude, be funny about it.

I do find that the "liberal" trolls are generally funnier than the conservative ones. The conservative ones just seem angry.

Saturday night massacre starting to line up: www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-certainly-believes-he-has-the-power-to-fire-mueller-white-house-says/ar-AAvJ0P4
I would not previously have thought Trump would try to fire Mueller, but since he lost Hope Hicks and has started to ignore Kelly, deciding instead to rely on his brilliant brain for advice, I'm beginning to learn towards him doing it.
He watches Fox News all the time, and gets nightly advice from Hannity, no doubt he thinks the American people agree that he's being treated unfairly by partisan witch hunters and they would applaud mightily if Trump cleared out all the DOJ riff raff.
It would be a mistake, but I don't think he realizes how big a mistake. He doesn't seem to have the ability to anticipate the potential negative consequences his actions might have, until he's actually done them and found himself another six inches deeper in shit.

The below just confirms what I highlighted above. Satire from The Borowitz ReportFox News Says It Will Decide Trump’s Syria Response in Next Forty-Eight Hours
By Andy Borowitz EW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—Fox News Channel announced on Monday that it would decide what Donald J. Trump’s Syria response will be in the next forty-eight hours. At a press conference at the network’s headquarters, Sean Hannity, Judge Jeanine Pirro, and the “Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy said that, as the people who have been entrusted with the decision of whether to use military force, they were not taking their responsibility lightly. “The U.S. military is the mightiest force in all the world,” Hannity said. “However we decide that President Trump will use that force in Syria, we promise that it will be a decision he will be proud of.” Complete article here. I do find that the "liberal" trolls are generally funnier than the conservative ones. The conservative ones just seem angry. Why is it that they are always so angry? Because their life sucks, and they have either been convinced or convinced themselves that it sucks because of all those "other" people ruining things for them. They have to take out their anger on someone, and they know it's not their own fault. Or because they have not yet reconciled the idea that just because other people don't think or believe the same way as they do it does not make those others a threat to their entire belief system or way of life. Now of course not all conservatives are like this, but I would bet that those readers (and particularly those commenters) skew towards the less-intelligent, less-accomplished, less-wealthy end of the spectrum.

So what month is all this coming to a head, it's either July or August for me. I just think it's gonna be a hell of an awesome summer! I was thinking of putting the following up as a separate thread but feel it fits in just fine here...Seems our Donalds comments about his mulling it over about firing Mueller has got some Senators worried...and it seems bi partisan too....thinking he just might fire the man...thus going to introduce legislation making it harder for our Donald to fire the man and if so, protect any evidence gathered from being destroyed....not sure if it would pass the Senate but at least it's coming out in the open....Seems there are Senators...legislators on both sides of the aisle who are concerned about protecting our country from within , from irrational leaders....goes beyond politics...true patriots...which it seems our Donald, in many eyes..verdict is still out on.. Has anyone in their life time...and since I am one of the oldest here and have always been interested in the political side of things...have never experienced it before...such a tumultuous Administration...never ending DAILY it seems Soap OPERA .......WILL IT EVER END? ----------------------------------------------------------- " April 10, 2018 11:42 PM Updated 1 hour 35 minutes ago WASHINGTON A bipartisan group of four senators is moving to protect special counsel Robert Mueller's job as President Donald Trump publicly muses about firing him. Republican Sens. Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Democratic Sens. Chris Coons of Delaware and Cory Booker of New Jersey plan to introduce legislation Wednesday that would give any special counsel a 10-day window in which he or she could seek expedited judicial review of a firing, according to two people familiar with the legislation. I heard an interesting theory on the news this AM. Trump has made some comments about moving Pruitt to replace Sessions, which didn't make sense to me (what in Pruitt's background would make him qualified for that job?) but the theory is, Trump doesn't trust that Sessions will fire Mueller, but if he replaces Sessions with Pruitt, Pruitt will.
The talking heads were also speculating that the GOP will NOT make any legislation protecting Mueller, because they know, with the public polls supporting the Mueller investigation at 70%, if Trump makes a move to fire Mueller it will be vastly unpopular, and even GOP members who have so far sat mum on the sidelines will be able to speak out against Trump without risk of become unpopular with their on constituents.
So, essentially, congress is waiting to see if Trump will go ahead and move against Mueller, knowing it will hang him. Six months ago I would have said Trump would never do it, but lately, he's become more unhinged, and I think he might. I don't know if I feel more encouraged or more terrified that he will, as it will certainly throw us into even more chaos than we're currently struggling with.
