Easiest way to prove me wrong is to end all welfare after two years. Then it’s obviously not a lifestyle choice but a temporary hand out. That would make both sides satisfied. The ones who feel that it’s a temporary glitch in life and those who don’t. As far as the language and acceptance of our laws, that’s also easily fixed. But it’ll never happen, not anymore.

you seem to have missed a large swath of the welfare-receiving population who actually need the assistance because they still can't make ends meet after working more than one job. so thank you for just completely fucking them over with your suggestion there.

Who’s fault is that? Personal choices are just that.

I remember the day grandparents, adult brothers or sisters, used to take in children of messed up relatives and expended their own money on the children. Today they will not do it unless the government pays for it. Let's go back to the day family took responsibility for their internal fuck ups without someone else paying for it.

As soon as Uncle Sam aka/sugar daddy took over nannying, the erosion of “family units” began.

But of course, this is off topic and needs to follow the rules. I’m surprised I wasn’t reminded of that. I apologize.

Well then perhaps having a lottery isn't the best way to bring in immigrants, hm? How about having a prerequisite of people learning the language and customs of this country BEFORE letting them in? Even if they learn the language and culture, it is pretty easy to sense that they are not wanted here. Turn on the TV, read this board, listen to the radio, walk around in public. We aren't doing a great job at disguising our hatred of immigrants. Hate begets hate. We are reaping what we sowed. I guess it is a good thing that we now are allowed to say it and incorporate it into our policies. They will know it is not going to be what we have pretended it was all along. We have always hated immigrants, but put out shiny, glossy brochures about how we are the land of immigrants and diversity. In reality, we are not. You get that same hatred everywhere...just like Americans would get that hatred if they moved to Uzbekistan. You think there isn't hatred/dislike of foreigners (all foreigners) in places like France, or Germany, or Japan? For instance, if you go to Japan, you could hear a nasty " gaijen!" insult from the locals as they pass by you. No where is there a place completely welcome to outsiders. So to use that as an excuse as to why someone would feel like killing others is bullshit. Nice victim blaming, though...I guess we truly know now that some people in this country really do hate American-born citizens more than immigrants. Hey, maybe THAT'S why these immigrants want to kill us?

That did happen more in the past, and it would be nice to bring some of that back. But, there was also a lot of people who ended up in terrible circumstances. My destitute great grandmother put her kids into and out of orphanages while she lived on the street and tries to gather enough money to go get them. The orphanage was a horrible place and my grandfather had some permanent damage. Their story is not unusual for the time period. "Back then" wasn't an ideal time either.

Back to the OP as I'd prefer not to start a new thread. According to this article the liar in chief said the truck driver potentially brought 23 people with him. He married someone after he arrived. He probably brought no one.
www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-risks-interfering-with-new-york-attack-prosecution-despite-warnings-in-bergdahl-case/ar-AAuq4V9?li=BBnb7Kz He also has exaggerated, repeatedly suggesting that Saipov brought in two dozen potentially "evil" family members. Under immigration rules, Saipov would not have been able to bring in that number. Trump conceded in a Thursday night interview that his statement might not be true. "CHAIN MIGRATION must end now!" he tweeted Wednesday. "Some people come in, and they bring their whole family with them, who can be truly evil. NOT ACCEPTABLE!"
"This man that came in — or whatever you want to call him — brought in with him other people. And he was a point — he was the point of contact, the primary point of contact for — and this is preliminarily — 23 people that came in, or potentially came in with him. And that's not acceptable," Trump said Wednesday. According to federal immigration rules, Saipov would not have been able to bring in anywhere near two dozen people. Immigration law allows a green card holder to petition for the entrance of an unmarried child or a spouse. Petitions can only be made when here, so Saipov would not have been able to bring relatives in with him. Each family member must be petitioned for separately, and the process can take years for each individual.

For more fun check out part of this video clip concerning the attack. Not sure if it took the timestamp, but about 16:15 in is about the NYC attack. I really enjoyed the assessment of Trump as a grievance politician. That segment ends about 23:05 for those who want to view it all.

Why? You are basing your humor off of the lying rantings of the ridiculous twit Donald Trump. Simply a fact. I'm curious why? How does that qualify as a personal insult towards you?

A professional truck driver speeding on I-17?! Unthinkable. Are you defending this man?? Nope. Just saying that the article and the AZ incident does not support the premise that he was spending years trying to untie the fabric of our nation. It doesn't even show he was in AZ to do anything illegal. He was a professional truck driver, driving a commercial truckload on am interstate highway and was speeding.
