Perhaps it's because of opinions such as this..."When you don't care about yourself, why should you expect others to?" that the BLM movement came into existence. Blanket statements such as that one are just down right creepy. Black people have way more pride than that. They are just tired of being shot to death by White police.

anyone with a moral compass, no matter how strongly the felt about a statue, wouldn't march with nazis. It's not rocket science. You lay down with Nazis you get called out on it. It's no one else's fault they CHOOSE to stand side by side with nazis. And nope, good people are smart enough to know if you see a nazi, you make another choice.

No, but I'm also not saying everyone that attended the Charlottesville rally was a nazi. The door swings both ways not just one way. The counter protesters were not nazi's. I agree with that. And there was no one there in the group of nazi's talking about saving a statue. Their is video evidence documenting that. As for the President, of course no politician could defend him. Trump is a dottering old racist. And it was times like last Tuesday that he put his racism on full display.

Tangent - but here is what I have never understood...what is wrong with Jews? (Per white supremists?)
Is it that they are sort of mid-eastern? They were all over Europe and seem quite European, but I guess their roots are all Isreali.
I know that Hitler blamed the loss of WW 1 on them - but not sure what that was based on. And I'm not sure how that translates to some guy in Des Moines.
Is it because they had money?
I've just never gotten the problem.
And - do white supremists still hate Catholics? Where does that come from?

I'm sorry but not surprised that you don't see mine. BLM could start in their own backyards and neighborhoods if they wanted to feel like their lives matter. When you don't care about yourself, why should you expect others to? I still remember the nazis marching through Skokie. Do you? But they DID start in their own backyards. That was what happened in Ferguson. There were a couple of ironic cases where cops on bullhorns drove by asking people to return to their homes- but the people were standing in their own yards. And yes, I remember the Nazis marching through Skokie. All the more reason to distance oneself from such reprobates! I'm discussing behavior but okay

There was a group protesting illegal immigration here over the weekend.
Justin True-dope said "We will not let a small group of racists define us!" Excuse me? If you don't want every illiterate, unskilled border-jumper with their hand out for a welfare cheque and free healthcare, pouring into the country, then you're a racist, apparently.
A full two thirds of Canadians are against the tsunami of illegals flooding in. Wow. What a lot of racists! Another 400,000 expected from the US. No jobs, no housing and nowhere to put them Racists, indeed! We just can't afford it and can't absorb that many.

We are not "together" and I am not "with them", we just happen to have a similar route of travel... why should I not go to my intended destination? Unlike steaks and cars which are sold to millions of people, and were not designed specifically to showcase that they are racist, only a 1000 or so people marched in Charlotte carrying torches, chanting "Jews will not replace us" and "blood and soil". Anyone who chose to march with that group was clearly fine with those chants and the purpose of that rally, otherwise they would have left.

Anyone who chose to march with that group was clearly fine with those chants and the purpose of that rally, otherwise they would have left.See my last point (I underlined it)... And some could believe (GASP!) that the rally was about not removing confederate statues. (Imagine that? No Nazi leanings required to be in opposition against the removal of statues of good men and patriots of their cause as well as defenders of their state and country! What a concept!) I know that this will come as a surprise to some... but those statues were not designed to show that the places that erected them are racist... and neither is the Confederate flag (which is proudly carried by quite a few BLACK people too). If you believe in the idea that the Confederate flag is racist, or that only racists would carry/display it... don't look under the spoiler unless you want some of your preconceived notions jolted loose. Black Supporters of the Confederate Flag: ‘Don’t Let Cowards in Bedsheets Hijack Its Meaning’There's Karen Cooper, the Virginia woman who described how the Confederate flag, to her, represents defiance in the face of oppression. "I actually think that it represents freedom," Cooper, a black woman, says in a webisode of the documentary Battle Flag. "It represents a people who stood up to tyranny." According to the Washington Post, Cooper takes her support for the controversial flag—once flown by states that fought to maintain slavery—to the next level. She's a member of an advocacy group called the Virginia Flaggers that is striving to rebrand the flag because, its members say, contrary to popular opinion, it doesn't represent racism or hate. ... more here: www.theroot.com/black-supporters-of-the-confederate-flag-don-t-let-co-1790860372

He held a rally in Arizona, where he bitterly blamed the fake media for reporting on what he said, instead of owning it.
Well, it's Arizona. It's a dry hate.

There were people there who didn't want the statue removed. That's their right to be there. They all weren't members of the kkk or a nazi. If you think that way then anyone who happens to be around a BLM person would automatically be a thug? Are you sure there were people there who only came because they didn't want the statue removed? What's your proof? Some people keep forgetting that this rally was called to 'Unite the Right'. It was a rally for alt-right organizations not a call out for people who just wanted to keep the statue.
There was an article on MSN about 6 younger men who attended the rally and brief histories of why they radicalized themselves. I hoped at least one hadn't gone around the bend, but I was disappointed. The organizations some of them founded want a white ethnostate created. Calling them white ISIS is unfortunately apt.

medium.com/@rvawonk/unite-the-right-rally-reflects-a-growing-threat-of-extremism-in-america-e94f57b61980
The so-called “Unite the Right” rally, which is scheduled to take place from 12–5pm on August 12, will bring together a variety of far-right and alt-right extremists, ranging from anti-Semitic and anti-immigrant hate groups to neo-Nazis, white nationalists, neo-Confederates, and members of the Ku Klux Klan, anti-government militias, and newer groups like the Proud Boys, American Guard and the Fraternal Order of Alt Knights.
The event’s organizer, Jason Kessler, is a white supremacist and newly sworn-in member of the alt-right Proud Boys who believes that the proportional increase of minorities in America is equivalent to “white genocide.” In a recent interview, Kessler said “the number one thing” he wants from Saturday’s rally is “to destigmatize Pro-White advocacy.”
The Daily Stormer is promoting the Unite the Right rally as part of what they call the “Summer of Hate.”
Check out the posters in the URL if you really have convinced yourselves it was about the statue, not a planned Unite the Right rally.

Trump is still campaigning. He needs the love. He should stay in the WH and govern. When will the small base he has realize this? There is something wrong with this man, seriously.

Thing is....he's batshit crazy. At a number of political rallies over the year, a character calling himself “Michael the Black Man” has appeared in the crowd directly behind Donald Trump, impossible to miss and possibly planted. He holds signs that scream “BLACKS FOR TRUMP” and wears a T-shirt proclaiming with equal conviction that “TRUMP & Republicans Are Not Racist.” The presence of Michael — variously known as Michael Symonette, Maurice Woodside and Mikael Israel — has inspired not only trending Twitter hashtags but a great deal of curiosity and Google searches. Internet sleuths find the man’s bizarre URL, a easily accessible gateway to his strange and checkered past. The radical fringe activist from Miami once belonged to a violent black supremacist religious cult, and he runs a handful of amateur, unintelligible conspiracy websites. He has called Barack Obama “The Beast” and Hillary Clinton a Ku Klux Klan member. Oprah Winfrey, he says, is the devil. Most curiously, in the 1990s, he was charged, then acquitted, with conspiracy to commit two murders. www.msn.com/en-ca/news/politics/the-strange-story-of-that-%E2%80%98blacks-for-trump%E2%80%99-guy-standing-behind-potus-at-his-phoenix-rally/ar-AAqAofT?li=AAadgLE&ocid=spartanntp

I would imagine so. Trump measures "good people" by how much they love him.
