My life will change when I get the last of the QVC easy payments eliminated.....then....I'm going to stop watching that money sucking channel. What did you buy?

Bought a Onna Ehrlich tote. It was on sale for just over $100. Can't wait until it arrives.

What did I buy: Fit Bit, set of 5 silicone colander etc. pieces (why? I don't cook), Josie Maran argan oil lotions. Already paid off the Dyson stick vac ...I really did need it, gave my too big for me Dyson to our clubhouse. If I go back further into history, there was more.....egads I'm just a sucker for some of this stuff.

I managed to snag tickets for Pete Souza discussing his beautiful photographs in Kansas City next month How my life has changed since I decided no more of my money was going to Paul McCartney. Paul thanks you for your contributions to his lifestyle. 😜

Totally possible I'm confusing you with someone else, so let me know if I'm misremembering, but don't you have a brand new Mercedes GLS (one of a string of fairly expensive SUVs IIRC) and reasonable monthly income/assets? In other words, if you have the finances to buy these things why would you bother with a payment plan on them; why not just buy them and be done with it?

I am sure DH is chomping at the bit and Amazon wonders where he is, but we pulled back buying things we do not need right away due to withdrawing money to pay for expensive dental bills. Since I hit the donut hole when I ordered my migraine prescription, the cost for my monthly medications will increase. September is the month the house and car insurance is due and the escrow for R/E taxes increased. I dislike this time of year because money flies out of our accounts for necessities, but most of our summer entertainment is free or inexpensive.
Last week: $12 for lunch at the fair
Yesterday: $35 for lunch for two $ 70 for patio covers for outdoor chairs

If I may, QVC payments are simply the total divided by # of payments. I always do them too. Free float, if you're an investor. It tends to remind me of what I've bought in recent months, when otherwise I tend to forget. Since I'm weird, it's a check on my spending vs. enabling. Ymmv

Paul thanks you for your contributions to his lifestyle. 😜 So do hotels and airlines. I am nowhere near the crazier fans who have seen Paul well over 100 times. It was a lot more fun in the "old" days when any fan could manage to snag a good seat. Now if you want a seat where I like to be, you have to buy VIP tickets for $1600 each. Can't do it, won't do it.

Mealworms. I really need to start raising them again. $5 for a little container is ridiculous. The gecko is starting to cost more to feed than the cats.

Actually milee I traded in the GLS 3 months ago and put $20K back in the bank by choosing a dealer loaner Cadillac XT5 mid size SUV. And yes, I could have just paid for them, but why use my money when I can use theirs. Difficult part was finally admitting I was cheating somewhat and when this month of August I finally decided to treat this YNAB honestly, I was shocked at the spending I was doing. I've found when being a widow there is a time frame where your brain isn't functioning as well as we'd like, and there was a lot of emotional spending going on. I've changed all that now (yippee) and my life is back in balance.

Bought more kitchen stuff on markdown at Marshalls along with two golf shirts for DH and a cardigan sweater for me. Then there was the 70 bottles of Gatorade and 40 bottles of water from Costco for DH to take to work. I keep trying to get him to use the stainless double wall refillable water bottles we have here at the house, but he wants to buy bottles of water. I hate doing that!

A Columbia fleece jacket. We are in an uncharacteristic cold snap for August. I didn't check the weather before I packed for the weekend because it's been 90+. Then I agreed to go on a 3 hour cruise on the river at night. I would be frozen without it.

Last night, shoes for DS off Zullily.com. 3 pairs of sneakers plus shipping for a little over $40. He needs them though, so not really a waste. They had some cute Rocket Dog sneakers, but since I nearly threw up after making my new budget, I refrained from buying them.

I went to a charity fundraising rummage sale. I spent:
Six piece bathroom set (nice pattern, new) $10. Three ceramic chicks that will look good on a shelf over our stove $3. (currently two Snap-on cups reside there...they really had to go) One Christmas table cloth (cute puppies with Reindeer antlers) $1. One Nordstrom purse (tags and silica packages still in pockets) $2. Three throw pillows (again, new... puppy chewed up our last ones) $9.
$25.
And, of course a little donation. (I really like the charity)

I bought a new tv for the bedroom. The one in there sort of quit working toward the end of June. I say "sort of" because it would still come on . . . at random times likes the middle of the night or while I was gone to work. This was about the middle of my moaning and groaning about the income tax problem and then the therapy problem. My sister sent us a $200 Best Buy gift card. I felt terrible because I was only venting like I do here. Were any of you tempted to send me a gift card? I didn't think so! But we do send her $300 every year to help pay for her visit. Plus, we feed her, loan her a car, etc. But I keep telling her that helps us more than her because we'd have twice the airfare, have to rent a car, board the dog, and so on if we went out there. Plus, we aren't from her town, and she lived here most of her life. But I guess it was payback. Anyway, DH's health deteriorated, and I could never get to BB to get a tv. I finally did today. After her gift card, I paid $186. That's pretty cheap for a new tv (it's only for the bedroom, remember), but it's probably money I shouldn't be spending right now. But she kept asking when I was going to get one, so I did. And then I wrote her another thank-you note. Well, it turns out I didn't buy a tv. I finally showed up at BB amid Dh's hospitalizations to pick it up, and she asked the guy to bring up the 49" LG. WTF. While $299 has to be a phenomenal price, I don't need or want one that big. I don't think I could get it out of the car or up my stairs. I don't think I could put it up on the dresser. There would be no room for the components like the Directv box. DH was sort of excited when I told him, but it won't fit in the living room either because I have an entertainment armoire in there. 42" is its max. And I still have the same problems of getting it out of the car/up the stairs. He sort of forgot he is in the hospital. Maybe I will feel like trying again tomorrow. I'm tied to BB because of my sister's gift card. I actually would have bought one at Costco if I was just paying. It seems funny quoting myself. I finally got the tv. My sister called yesterday because she knew that I was going to my son's house to take their youngest his birthday present. It was only a week late so not bad considering all that's going on here. Then she said, "Why didn't you get the tv while you were out?" She gave this to me more than a month ago, and I accept that she's a little peeved that I haven't made it happen. She was trying to do something nice for me when so much was going wrong. So I took myself to BB and bought the tv. They didn't have it at my store, but I was determined to get this particular tv. It was an LG 43" for $299.99. Then I spent today switching tvs. DH loves this tv, and it actually fits into the armoire. He always complained that the 36" was too small for in there. So it's now in my bedroom. The switch took me all morning because of all the various components. It was a PITA. But DH and my sister are both happy. And the dog and I will finally get to watch House Hunters again.

I don't think a prescription qualifies as something you wasted money on. I hope it made you better, though.

New placemats for the dining room and a candle from Home Goods. I love that store! I was looking for beachy things to put in a basket I'm making to put in a silent auction, but couldn't find anything. I did see a teapot shaped like a sea urchin and I may go back and get it and do a basket with tea and coffee stuff. I could do some teas, coffee beans, a couple of mugs, tea stainer, etc.

Well, technically my DH wasted the money, on dinner out. I wasn't in the mood for Italian, and it had to have been really fattening. Boo! I also bought 4 bras earlier this afternoon. At least one of them wasn't a waste, but maybe the rest. I needed some new ones, but if they're not really comfortable, I won't end up wearing them=a waste. This one that I'm already wearing is great, though.

Just trying reeeaally hard to not buy ones that I'll never end up wearing like I usually do. They were just super cheap on clearance. But still, if I never want to wear it, it's wasted money.

Yours may be different but I didn't see very many at the two near me. They had a ton of fall and halloween stuff, just no regular ones.
