The bannon faction/alt right part of his base are losing their shit over this. Lots of colorful horrifying descriptions being used to describe Jared Kushner. Seriously, check out #FireKushner on twitter. They are screaming about "globalist cuck", how they didn't elect Jared & Ivanka, & how they will abandon trump if he doesn't put bannon in charge & get rid of "the Jew" Kushner. Then you've got good old Alex Jones & Roger Stone tag teaming Jared & Ivanka. Saying they are the leaks, the traitors, the back stabbing "dems" screwing trump over and how they need to be "removed". there's not enough popcorn for all the winning. Wow. That is interesting. I was going on the theory that a large portion of Americans like to watch violence and be on the stronger side of that. I guess I thought bombing brown people would be popular.

But it's that alt right/bannon base that is losing their shit. They want to be America first and fuck the rest. They are rabidly against doing anything globally. This has sent them into a massive hissy fit. And the ones they are going after the most are Jared & Ivanka. "the Jew and stepford bitch" (that's a quote from one of them on twitter) To me the Alex Jones & Roger Stone turning on Jared & Ivanka is the most interesting part of this. They feed the rabid base too.

Bannon is crazy. Anyone see this yet about his preferred book?
www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/bannon%e2%80%99s-views-can-be-traced-to-a-book-that-warns-%e2%80%98winter-is-coming%e2%80%99/ar-BBzzsuT?li=BBnb7Kz
WASHINGTON — Stephen K. Bannon has read the book three times. He still keeps a copy of it — one that’s creased and copiously underlined — in a library with the rest of his favorites at his father’s house in Richmond, Va.
The book, “The Fourth Turning,” a 1997 work by two amateur historians, Neil Howe and William Strauss, lays out a theory that American history unfurls in predictable, 80-year cycles of prosperity and catastrophe. And it foresees catastrophe right around the corner.
The book delineates history into four seasonal cycles, or “turnings”: growth, maturation, decay and destruction. It is the kind of wild, provocative idea that Mr. Bannon loves. But it is also just the kind of thinking that his opponents see as evidence that he is too Machiavellian and idiosyncratic for the job of President Trump’s chief strategist.

Sorry Reckless, but I don't really care about any of the Syrians, the Iranians, the Iraquis, the Yemenis, the Saudis, the Israelis, the Libyans, the Somalians etc.
You can say that's a disgusting attitude if you'd like, but I am tired of us being the world policeman, shelling out men/women and materials all so some fucked up Sunnis and Shiites can continue to kill each other over ancient tribal and religious bullshit that we are now in waist deep with blowback for the rest of our lives.

Anyone think that Trump did this as a distraction? The base is up and working again after 24 hours. Very few were killed (not that he cares.) It makes him look like he is not aligned with Russia, and his base loves when shit blows up. Of course he did. You hear anyone talking about Russia?

Maybe read the book, then post your thoughts about it, rather than parroting someone else's commentary. Just a thought. Most world dynasties did go through these various cycles, and simply became second world countries in the end, if they existed at all.......

Yeh like how the rest of the world does not care for Americans...I guess I know where you are coming from.
I will have to disagree with you on that one. I'm quite sure that we are well liked by a large percentage of the world.
As for world policeman... no one said step up to the position. In fact you choose to do something which is not required or expected. Instead of taking down the leader you are bombing the innocent. Am I right or have I got the picture wrong?
We are the world's policeman. Not like any other country steps up like we have. But I'm sick of that role. And as was pointed out....in this case we didn't bomb any 'innocents'. But how many cases would you like where we did?

But how many cases would you like where we did? DH and I travel a lot. Our experiences have been that Americans are quite well liked actually. Some of our presidents - not so much. The current one is regarded, in general, as a stooge. Obama was well liked and respected.

The first time I traveled internationally, people wanted to ask me about Reagan. All I could do was shake my head. They loved me though.

I posted part of an article so people could investigate themselves. I did not post any opinion except that Bannon is crazy. When I use italics, I do it to show it is part of someone else's words and opinions.
There are various cycles, but I do not agree with one of their cycle points nor the prediction that this cycle is supposed to be about twenty years long.

Because that was inappropriate what Kittensaver said with the profanity. Do you really not get that?
Do you not get it that your comment to her was also personal attack? No. It was calling out BAD BEHAVIOR (cursing) which is different than a personal attack.

"profanity" isn't against the rules here. We can say whatever fucking cuss word we fucking want to in any god damn situation or shit sandwich discussion going on. So says the poster that got a few profanity laced comments deleted from this very thread. Regardless, it makes the commenter appear classless IMO. And I am free to call it out when I want.

It is an interesting change. But of course it is lost on some. For example some think this is clever with no clue the joke is on them and their lack of understanding of the situation in any depth:

Do you not get it that your comment to her was also personal attack? No. It was calling out BAD BEHAVIOR (cursing) which is different than a personal attack. For the record, there is no rule here against what you consider "bad behavior". There is no rule against cursing. If staff members feel a post is going too far in that direction, we will take care of the problem. If you feel a post has gone too far in that direction, you're welcome to use the Report function or PM a moderator. We'll be glad to take a look at the post and remove it, if warranted, per our rules. We don't need posters to mini-mod. It only disrupts the thread. Thanks. mmhmm, Politics Moderator

Yeah, thought it was a little over the top. It's the only "way forward" for ideologues heavily invested in the Russiagate conspiracy, hence in that sense it doesn't surprise me.

I saw a video that broke down the whole Syria thing and who is aligned with whom, and what all the different countries want to do. All I can say is "What a fucking mess."
I don't even know if I support Trump’s actions, or if I'm mad as he'll about them.

I can't figure out how to link to the video. It was the 5 minute explanation of the Syrian war on YouTube by "unworthyservant". There are a bunch of 5 min explanation video, that is just the one I happened to watch.
