Mine are in kennels because they are playing way too rough in the house. They went outside already to play for a while. Jackson can't be out there unattended, so I can't just boot them out and move on.

I got Charlotte all wired playing peek a boo and she peed on the mattress.
Soaked up what I could and soaked the spot in urine remover then we flipped it over.
She's really warmed up to DH over the past couple weeks.
She likes older men like FIL. She's still not sure about my dad
Dude who used to own her must have been between DH and my dad age wise cause much younger and much older men don't phase her at all.

Couscous was terrified of men. Absolutely terrified....especially of their feet.

Macy barks at everyone who isn't us for some reason. Anyone walking down the street and even my grandparents who live next door. She knows them. I was standing on my grandma's porch the other day talking to her and Macy stood there and barked at her the whole time. I wonder how I can get her to stop that. When she's loose at the dog park, she doesn't bark at people there. She only does it at home. Maybe it's a territorial thing.

And guess who jumped the effing fence again?! For the last year, Jackson has stood in front of the front fence (chain link) and watched me take out the trash. Well this morning I was taking out the trash and turned around to pick up some boxes. I turned around just in time to see him leap over the damn thing and take off running after a dog that was running down the street. I went down to the sidewalk and called him and he came right back. So now he can't be outside unless he's tied up. Damn dog! I'd love to let him roam like everyone else around here does, but I'm afraid of him getting hurt.

Andi, your puppies are adorable. Our little one will be One on Thursday. She certainly tries DH and my patience. (Yesterday she decided she would destroy my watch, thankfully cloth band, which I left on my dresser) Thankfully, her body (both ends) relieved her of anything that could have been a problem. All the while all I was doing was paying bills and THINKING the little monster was asleep. Dayum, they can be so cute though.

Comic interlude notalwaysright.com/tag/pets-animals/page/2/ Coworker: *over walkie-talkie* “Um… is [Dog]’s dad Jewish?”
(I immediately grab my walkie and put it to my ear to hear the rest of this.)

I had a horrible dream that Macy broke her leg the other day. Snapped it in half. I've been watching her a little closer since. It was just a dream but it was still scary. My poor sweet girl.

Do your dogs burp? The twins do it all the time. Don't get me wrong, it's better than coming out the other end. My GSD never burped.

But her burps are loud.

Macy's being a little piggy tonight. She's probably had 4-5 cups of food. Jackson's probably had half that much. If she weren't spayed I'd wonder if she were pregnant. She never eats like that.

LD was stretched out across a few couch cushions, passed out. he never flinched, but stretched in his sleep and sighed. apparently the sigh masked a SBD. roommate said he had to leave and stay out for a good half hour. and LD never woke up. lmfao!

Our Golden, "Trooper" had a comment on all this stuff. He said: As a dog, if it itches you can reach it and, no matter where it itches no one will be offended if you scratch it in public.

I don't know about that. I usually comment to the cat that those private things should be kept private. He looks at me then continues his licking. I'm sure he feels I'm jealous that he's so limber.

I free feed them. It takes 3 scoops to fill their bowls. Macy downed one and then later came back for the rest of Jackson's bowl. I had to refill it so he could eat. I had been worried because it didn't seem like they had eaten very much the last couple of days. Macy made up for her lack of eating. Jackson ate a fair amount too.

We had a peaceful night. Nothing came out of the cat except what is supposed to. I'll get the results of his pancreas test today then depending on that result, a new plan of action. Mammo this morning then back to the hospital volunteering after a few months vacation from it. All the students are back to school now. I have the TV set on calming music. The vet feels he's stressed. Seriously? No kidding. Let's see, in less than two years he's lost his dad, his home, his other two companions, moved 3x then I leave for 2 weeks and he's in another place, then he's back here again. He's 12 and doesn't just go with the flow. Sometimes you wonder if anyone ever listens. Amazingly my usually oblivious DS has been asking about him. Probably because I asked him if he could come over while handyman was here in case I had to go to vet. Didn't get in until 5:30 so handyman was gone but still, it's very unusual for DS.

So far this morning Jackson took off with my bra and Macy punched me in the eye. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Cat's pancreas is fine. Crap. I needed some plan of treatments other than he's going to get UTI's on occasion. I've switched his food to Science Diets CD. Hope it helps. Have a pill to give him daily for the next 4 days. That's always fun. Not.

One of the guys here at work is having issues with one of his dogs. She's in a lot of pain and can't walk. Vets can't figure out what is wrong with her. She's only 3 years old. Since she's a Mastiff, 3 years old is older than it would be in another breed since 5 years old is when they're considered geriatric. But it's still not terribly old. He's having to carry a 110 pound dog outside several times a day to go potty and the vet says she's a 9 in pain level. They're trying to decide if they should just put her out of her misery since no one can figure out what is wrong but at the same time don't want to give up on a 3 year old dog. Right now they just have her doped up on pain meds.

Could be hip dysplasia. That is common in large breeds but usually not that young. It could be her parents weren't screened and it set in early due to genetics.
Poor dog.

Vets see hip dysplasia every day practically. I feel like that would be a fairly simple diagnosis for a large breed. He said she recently stopped eating too. And they have taken it to more than one vet. I think it's going to be something else if multiple vets can't diagnose it.

Not much he can do if she was a rescue but if he got her from a breeder he should inform them. If they are reputable they'll check with other owners and go through their books to hopefully prevent this in future litters

His wife works at a pet store that sells dogs. Not in the store itself, but she's a higher up of a large national chain. I imagine that that's where they got it and likely has something to do with it. I can't say that for sure and didn't want to start a conversation about how you should never buy a dog from a pet store, so I didn't say anything. It likely wouldn't have changed his mind about the places.

My DH's brother has a chocolate lab mix with it and he's 3 I think. He came from a rescue in Alabama so we are thinking back yard breeder. We always thought he'd suffered some sort of trauma on steps because he mostly refused to go on them. Doesn't like hardwood floors either. It makes sense now. The poor baby is much better now but he was doped up for a few days. He has an orthopedic bed and we try to keep him from running like a psycho so much but that's a losing battle with a lab.
