So last night the twins were all over the couch so I sat in the recliner. Both of them jumped onto it with me. Thing 2 thought it was hilarious. I told her there was 300 pounds of people/dog in the recliner. Weirdos.

I know that feeling. If I go to the kitchen I'm followed to two attention seeking hyperactive dogs. If I try to sit down I have the both of them on my lap trying to out-do each other.... in how many licks they can get across my face...bllurrgghh. I can't even go to the bathroom without them scratching on the door. I'm feeling a bit crowded. As for pretty pups.....they grow into monsters. Got one here and he is a real handful.

Charlotte played last night! I was chasing the kids around the yard when suddenly I saw a black blur go whizzing by. She was running behind me. Unfortunately we scared her when the kids started running after her (and I ran after them), she thought we were chasing her to punish her. I felt terrible, the look on that poor dog's face. I made the kids go do something else then I sat down in the grass to wait. Eventually she came to me and I spent the next ten minutes giving her a belly rub. I hope something really awful, I am talking biblical proportions, happens to her former owner.

DH went to pick up my prescription and decided BB needed to go along. BB didn't get a doggie treat from the pharmacy drive through this time, but he doesn't seem too disappointed. We're going to sit by the pool in about an hour. BB still isn't certain he likes the new pool. I think we'll fill his small pool for him again so he's more comfortable getting wet.

She is definitely coming out of her shell and is taking to Jackson a bit better. She's also treating me as her mom like Jackson does. I think she was a little leery about it when she first came home with us. She acted like she was afraid that our home was temporary. She's definitely at home with us now.

Now if I can just get them to stop fighting like little kids over toys. They have multiples of toys, but they want the one the other dog has. Now that my kids are grown, I have two little kids again. Great.

Charlotte didn't run in terror when my dad came to the door, that is progress. She did retreat to the couch after she verified I was safe but she let my dad approach her and pat her head so that's good.
My dad has a really dominant personality which given her background makes Charlotte nervous. So we're taking it really slow. She needs to get used to him because he's around a lot and he's the one that takes care of our pets in emergencies and if we're not all out of town at the same time.

I swear a car dropped a dog off on my street and took off last night. I can't say it for sure, but I saw an unknown car stopped in front of the house. When it took off, there was a brown and white boxer running after it that doesn't belong to anyone in the neighborhood that I know of. It was wandering around for a bit and then I lost sight of it. The car came back around a little while later creeping but never stopped. I haven't seen the dog since. I'll have to look around when I get home.

From the ancient depths of the relationships between man and dog I have found the following: 9 reasons why dogs make better pets than cats.......(1) Dogs will tilt their heads and try to understand every word you say. Cats will ignore you and take a nap, (2) Cats look silly on a leash. (3) Dogs will give you unconditional love until the day they die, Cats will make you pay for every mistake you've ever made since the day you were born. (4) A dog knows when you are sad and will try to comfort you. Cats don't care how you feel as long as you remember where the can opener is. (5) Dogs will bring you your slippers. Cats will drop a dead mouse in your slippers. (6) When you take them for a ride, dogs will sit on the seat next to you. Cats have to have their own private basket, or they won't go at all. (7) Dogs will come if you call them and they will be happy. Cats will have someone take a message and get back to you. (8) Dogs will play fetch with you all day long. The only thing cats will play with all day long are small rodents, or bugs, preferably ones that look like they are in pain. (9) Dogs will wake you up if the house is on fire. Cats will quietly sneak out the back door. (deciphered from Egyptian Hieroglyphs written on a passageway inside the Great Pyramid.)

And that right there is why I hate the human race most of the time. People like that need a beating. Boxers are beautiful dogs. Why would someone do that? I just don't get it. Please look for it and make sure it's ok.

If it's still wandering, I'm going to try and approach it. If it's friendly enough I'm going to call a no kill shelter and see if I can drop it off. If I call animal control they will take it to a kill shelter. At least in my county they do. I can't house another dog or I'd let it in the house. The twins would go nuts if I brought in another dog. I already joke that I'm slowly becoming the crazy dog lady.

I didn't find the boxer. I drive around looking for it. Maybe I'll see it later. I'll keep looking.

Ok gang, I have a question? At what age is it appropriate to tell your dog he is adopted?

Big Boy had a really rough night last night due to all the storms. They began around 6 pm and kept up through this morning. We gave him melatonin at 7 pm when the thunder really started in and he got upset. His Thunder shirt wasn't enough to keep him calm with all the noise, but he was OK for the first hour or so. He woke me up at 1 am when the storms intensified, so we gave him more melatonin. DH said he finally settled down and went back to sleep around 3. BB is exhausted today. He did go outside and do his duty (dootie) this morning between showers, so that was a BIG win! We had put out a pee pad for him knowing how much storms scare him, but he held it until he could go outside. YAY!

The twins really need to get out. They've been so snippy the last couple of days. I think they've been locked up in the house too long together.

So the twins are going to the vet tomorrow. Who wants to guess how big they are? We got Macy in March and she was 55 pounds and a little skinny. She's a bit thick now. Around the same time Jackson was 75 pounds and has filled out a bit. I think I'm going to call Macy around 70 pounds and Jackson about 90. I'll send moon some pics to post so you can make an educated guess.

Ours always tended to have a "panic attack" as soon as you turned into the vet's parking lot. Otherwise they were always happy campers cause the same road went to the lake.....

They've not had any problems getting them in there. I suspect that because it's next door to petsmart they think they're getting a toy until we go in the wrong door. Jackson was a rock star this mlrning. He got right on the scale and sat and stayed put like a good boy. Macy needed a little coaxing, but she did well.

Well the twins are done and have a clean bill of health. Jackson weighs 83 pounds and Macy weighs 61. Big babies. But at least they're healthy babies.

andi9899 sent me some pics after I went to bed last night. I saw the mail this morning when I got up, but I'm not that coherent at 03:30 and forgot about it until now. SORRY!
