it just occurred to me that I never posted salon pics from yesterday lol... LD got a bath at home, because why would you pay someone to bathe a short hair pibble?? the pic of LD is from the car as we were on our way to go pick up the golden. I asked him where we were going, to go get his sister. Awe she looks so purty!!!

they were both ecstatic to see me when I got home half an hour ago. I've since figured out why - they have been alone since 730. awesome. supposedly broke roommate went out with M. I think I'm going to be doing very much of my own thing this weekend. they can pound sand. here are the kids now, though. zzzz.....

We went to the dog park today. The twins ran around a ton. Macy rode home with her hear out the sunroof. It was so cute!

Love the pics guys! Oh, and just for today, a great reason why some of us are dog lovers......have you taken note that when you come home from working your dog will be happy and lick your face. Cats, on the other hand will still be mad at you for leaving in the first place.

so we are leaving the beach now. pups have been swimming a few times and will be passed out like rocks tonight. but the question I have for y'all is - LD's thing this summer is to wander. like, we let them off leash to swim, and we will all be at the shore playing, and he will just wander off and make friends. very weird. oh, and peeing on beach chairs. like beach chairs with towels in them, he will lift a leg and mark it. I suppose if that's the worst thing he does...

I suppose if that's the worst thing he does... How old is he and is he fixed? He sounds like a typical male looking for "friends" or breeding partners and marking his territory. Even if he's fixed, he still has the urge to wander and check things out (just in case there's any pretty bitches around) 🙂

Jackson is neutered and he wanders off the meet new friends. He doesn't mark though. He actually squats to pee. I don't know if that's because he's so young or what. I had a female GSD that would lift her leg, so who knows. Maybe my dogs are just weird.

LD is about 2 and a half. he only within this calendar year started lifting his leg to pee, and not even all the time. my vet said he may have been neutered too young, not sure why that produces this result, but whatever.
it's just strange that this is now his thing. like I said, first world problems haha

We had to wait 3 weeks to get him because they had to wait for him to be old enough to get neutered. Maybe they did it to early. Or maybe he is too young still. He's the first boy dog I've ever had.

I had my pup neutered this morning, in fact. You could say its a bit on the young side (at nearly 6 months) He barely had anything there.....but he'll just finish growing up as a neuter..... and won't miss what he's never really had. I think there is such a thing as leaving it too late. If the dog is already showing aggression or dominance ...the behaviour may be embedded, and neutering may not help. However the pup has been done now because it fits in with our family arrangements. I'm not breeding from him so see no point in waiting. Vet said it was fine so he got done. I've got one sore little dog for the next few days.....and yes he squats to pee too

There are some health problems that can come about due to being neutered later in life. I don't know what exactly, but a coworkers dog was having some issues downstairs and the vet wondered if he was neutered later in life.

I look at all these dog pictures, and they're so cute, I find myself wanting a dog.
Then I remind myself of our minus 40 winter temperatures, having to walk the dog at the ass-crack of dawn, and I change my mind.

I want a Saint Bernard when the bitch twins are gone but then I think about having to get up and walk it and all that fun stuff and go forget it. I can live with the fur and slobber, it's the whole going outside thing in every kind of weather I don't want to deal with. Although, if I fence in the backyard, it would be good. Very large yard and there's already a spike for a lead that I can't get out of the ground. Hmmmm....

I would love a St Bernard. But I feel like it gets too hot here in the summer.

I have a very small yard, about the size of a postage stamp. However, dogs need plenty of exercise. I really don't feel like running around in temperatures where your eyeballs freeze over and icicles hang from your nose.

I swear if Charlotte could she would slice me open and crawl inside me like a tauntaun. She follows me everywhere I go and tries to get into my lap any time I sit down. We have had multiple conservations about personal space bubbles but she doesn't listen.

Only since there's two of them, sometimes they snippy with each other because one wants to between me and the other. I end up relocating and putting myself between them and scratch them both at the same time. Problem solved.

The twins also loved to be brushed. Last night I was brushing Jackson and Macy had to get in between us. I brushed her for a little bit and then Jackson got between us. Rinse and repeat.

I need to bathe mine and clip their nails. I should probably clean their ears while I'm at it. Spa day for the twins!

From the ancient depths of the relationships between man and dog I have found the following: 9 reasons why dogs make better pets than cats.......(1) Dogs will tilt their heads and try to understand every word you say. Cats will ignore you and take a nap, (2) Cats look silly on a leash. (3) Dogs will give you unconditional love until the day they die, Cats will make you pay for every mistake you've ever made since the day you were born. (4) A dog knows when you are sad and will try to comfort you. Cats don't care how you feel as long as you remember where the can opener is. (5) Dogs will bring you your slippers. Cats will drop a dead mouse in your slippers. (6) When you take them for a ride, dogs will sit on the seat next to you. Cats have to have their own private basket, or they won't go at all. (7) Dogs will come if you call them and they will be happy. Cats will have someone take a message and get back to you. (8) Dogs will play fetch with you all day long. The only thing cats will play with all day long are small rodents, or bugs, preferably ones that look like they are in pain. (9) Dogs will wake you up if the house is on fire. Cats will quietly sneak out the back door. (deciphered from Egyptian Hieroglyphs written on a passageway inside the Great Pyramid.)

The puppies are getting their sea legs so DH let them out in the backyard. It's too hot to puddle so it's hard to get everybody together in one shot. They turn 3 weeks in the wee hours of the morning. He might be moving them out to the puppy house in a few days.
