Here's the straight goods: I have some good friends in a tiny Canadian town (technically a hamlet)--Lumby, British Columbia--that has somehow managed to make it to the finals in the "Kraft Hockeyville"... whatever. Something to do with hockey. Some of you may have heard that Canadians have a thing for hockey, eh? It's one of those online voting contests where whichever "community" gets the most votes gets to host an NHL hockey game. If the town wins, this will be the biggest thing ever to happen in Lumby's history, I kid you not. In light of this fact, my friends have begged me to "get the word out" and recruit voters to the cause. I don't know quite how this is supposed to work, but people are not only allowed to vote multiple times, they're encouraged to. The link is: khv2016.ca/en/nominations/profile/pat-duke-memorial-arena-440/I figured I'd post it here so that any kind soul wanting to help out a tiny Canadian backwater win the greatest prize it's ever known in it's tiny Canadian backwater history could lend a hand if desired. You can vote 1 time, 5 times, 10 times, or however many times you want. It's basically just clicking on a button and answering a captcha to prove you're human. Absolutely nothing to fill out. It will apparently accept votes until the end of Monday. I can offer nothing in the way of compensation except 'likes' for your posts and the mental image of the entire town of Lumby, BC dancing in the streets and praising you anonymously. Now you may be asking: how does a vote for Lumby equate to a vote for not Donald Trump? Well, Lumby isn't Donald Trump, and you'll be voting for them. I'm pretty sure they don't even like him. So there you go. Thanks to any takers.

I was able to give them 10 votes in just a minute or two. I didn't see a captcha til near the end - I just had to click a box to verify that I'm not a robot for each vote cast.

After a few votes I had to select pictures with a body of water from a group. My son plays and coaches ice hockey. My 9 and 7 yo gs's play. The 9 yo team just won a tournament.

Trump is not a hockey fan? Who knew? But how come the site wants to know whether I am a snow leopard impersonating a Canadian?

I voted several times. Is there anyplace we can see how they are doing compared to whoever it is they are competing against?

After a few votes I had to select pictures with a body of water from a group. ... The only problem is a robot would more likely have better vision than I so could see the pictures better. FYI Virgil Showlion, I gave them a bunch of votes also.

Thanks, all! Some are pretty questionable too. "Select all the images that have candy in them." ...and one of the images is a plate of cupcakes. Are cupcakes "candy" or not? "Select all the images that show drinks." ...and one of the images has a bunch of glasses stacked on a counter, but their contents aren't visible. Are they "drinks" or not? Fortunately I think the CAPTCHA is pretty permissive with the answers. I've never gotten one wrong.

I will not vote for not Donald Trump. Too late. Polls are closed. Technically, that means nobody can not vote for Lumby now. You arrived just in time to not not vote for not Donald Trump. Here's the straight goods: I have some good friends in a tiny Canadian town (technically a hamlet)--Lumby, British Columbia--that has somehow managed to make it to the finals in the "Kraft Hockeyville"... whatever. Something to do with hockey... Really Virgil...a hamlet? Is your friends name William Shakespeare? Does he walk through town playing a flute while all the rats follow him? I'm sorry man...that was too funny to pass up. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. I lived most of my life (over 17 years) in a hamlet called Bragg Creek, with population a little under 2,000. Lumby is apparently large enough that it qualifies as a village. The usual designations (by population) are: hamlet, village, town, city, metropolis, megalopolis. I've lived 85% of my life in either a hamlet or a megalopolis, and I much prefer the former.

LOL... I was going to throw a couple of votes into the hat. but couldn't find the "vote" button on the page (maybe voting is closed already?)
Based on the thread title though, I thought this was a "vote 'none of the above!'." type of reference from the movie "Brewster's Millions".
LOL

Exciting Update!Lumby has made it into the FINAL 2! All is hullabaloo in Lumby, BC, as the entire village congregated in the local watering hole to behold the news. Lumbyites were subsequently seen dancing in the streets, firing water pistols wildly into the air (Canadians aren't permitted real pistols due to our love of beer). My Lumby friends sang thanks and praise to all here who voted. It would be an understatement to say they were extremely grateful. The importance of the arena to Lumby is something that people who haven't lived in a small village might find hard to appreciate. I extend my thanks as well. But... the mission is not yet over. Monday-- today--is the only day to vote for the final winner of the Kraft Hockey Puckathon... contest. The winner will get to host an NHL preseason game (in addition to the cash for upgrading the arena). All the Lumby boys and girls, men and women, will pack the arena (in comical fashion, given the arena apparently seats around 50 people, and it's a pretty sure bet that all ~2,000 people in Lumby are going to show up) to witness a spectacle of hockey perfection that will be forever etched into their hearts and minds (especially the kiddies!) So, my Canadian and American brethren, and friends abroad, please vote today as you voted so diligently before. Help Lumby claim her most coveted prize. Voters will again receive a golden "like" from Virgil (redeemable for real cash and prizes in the YMAM store*) and the eternal gratitude of a tiny village with a big heart quite literally in the middle of nowhere, Canada. khv2016.ca/en/nominations/profile/pat-duke-memorial-arena-440/Thank you again, and I shall keep you posted. *YMAM store may or may not actually exist
