Assuming it is Clinton-Trump in November, will Trump begin attacking Clinton because of her gender/appearance/intelligence as he did Megyn Kelly/Carly Fiorina/Rosie O'Donnell and take the chance of alienating half of all voters in the U.S.? Time will tell. I don't think he'll be able to stop himself from that kind of bashing.

No Donald. It's not "Northern Marinas Islands". It's Northern Mariana Islands. Donald pronounced Mariana as 'Maryanna's'. Northern Mariana Islands should rescind their nine delegates for Donald for mispronouncing their commonwealth's name. Is Donald from Brooklyn? Cannot lose the darn accent

I am not saying there is a cover up. I am saying, he will say it and go on to win.

Or are NY values suddenly a good thing?

I thought it was a silly complaint myself (NYC values). Nothing wrong with NYC or its values.

Normally when a male politician is rude and condescending to a female politician it doesn't sit well with the voters - but Trump seems to be able to be as rude and insulting as he likes to whomever he wants and his fan base still loves him.
I don't think it will sit well with the other 60% of the GOP voters who don't like him, though. So, time will tell.

I saw him say " I haven't even started with her yet", indicating he will if he's the nominee.

And a general election rout sewn up as well But we will see on FL- Rubio won the debate hands down by doing what he should have been doing from the start- ignoring anything captain idiot says, refuse to engage captain idiot, and stick to policy like Kasich does. Kasich is going to lose Ohio today. Paul, please just read my thread before you post, in the future. save yourself some embarrassment. -dj

VB,
Just responding to your fellow Repo and commenting on what you other Repos think about Trump. Some is my opinion (oh gosh!) and some is just current truth on what you repos are up to. Deal.
But I did get a chuckle from your opinion about beating Clinton but still searching for the vote totals. How many times do I have to publicly say, I do not support Donald Trump. Never have. I, like, dj, only report what is going on. dj uses analysis, and statistics, I use my gut and lots of political reading. dj and I disagree on whether Trump has the legs to run the table. I say he does. Jeb was my man Then it was Christie after I realized Jeb was going nowhere Today, I am a man without an island. I admit I cannot vote for Clinton or Sanders, and I will never vote for Cruz. last week you were for Kasich. where did the love go, VB?

Chris Mathews of MSNBC, a half hour ago was suggesting Hillary ask Kasich to be her Vice President running mate. Is this guy freaking nuts? Is he trying to destroy Kasich politically? Or is he just nuts? i stopped listening to CM after the thrill up the leg comment.

So now, in order to win the general election, Trump will have to pivot.
He'll have to go back to the people who did not vote for them and humbly ask them to now vote for him instead of Hillary.
He'll have to go to people he previously insulted, like the Hispanics, apologize for his earlier statements, and ask for their support in the upcoming general election.
He has to, in order to get enough votes to win against Hillary. It's what a politician would do.
But we all know he's not a politician, doesn't have a humble bone in his body, and loves to declare other people losers.
He also runs the risk of pivoting too much and alienating his base supporters enough that they start to get disgruntled and stay home on voting day.
Who thinks the Donald has a chance of pulling this off in just the right way?
i think it is worse than that for him, actually. see nomination thread.

so, this went pretty much as predicted, with some minor exceptions.
i really hoped that Cruz would win MO. he got within 0.2%, but that is really not good enough, imo. this was a good day for Trump.
anyone predicting a sweep for Trump was an idiot. Ohio was pretty clearly Kasich's to lose, and IL and MO were too close to call. congratulations to anyone getting it right, but you can count luck more than prognostication on it
it was also a good day for Clinton, but she is unable to shake the Bern. he is still in this, with diminishing odds.
despite what many have said here, Trump really has NOT wrapped this up. he is now 4% below his target to win the nomination.

djAdvocate Has anyone done a proper analysis of where Rubio's delegates go now? I saw a comment on 538 that depending on the state some will stay bound to Rubio, some will be reallocated to those who remain in the race, and some will become unbound, but there were no numbers given on how they split out.

Not sure there can be a "proper analysis": Emineth, also a former chairman of the North Dakota Republican Party, told "Squawk Box" in the same interview that he's concerned about party officials pulling "some shenanigan."
"You have groups of people who are going to try to take over the rules committee," he warned. "[That] could totally change everything, and mess things up with the delegates. And people across the country will be very frustrated." www.cnbc.com/2016/03/16/we-choose-the-nominee-not-the-voters-senior-gop-official.html

Rubio's delegates are required by party rules to vote for him in the first vote. After that, they are supposedly released from his authority. He can ask them to vote a certain way, but they are free to vote their minds, for the candidate of their choice. They can also still vote for Rubio.

Trump doesn't actually have enough delegates to win the nomination, nor is he on track to do so. other than that, i agree with what you just said. as of today, there is a 60% likelihood of a brokered convention.

He can ask them to vote a certain way, but they are free to vote their minds, for the candidate of their choice. They can also still vote for Rubio. Not necessarily, from what I can find, because he has officially withdrawn. Where the withdrawn delegates' candidates go... - Delegates are bound to the candidate (39 of the 184): Iowa is one of the states with this method; all but five of the non-Rubio delegates are in this category.
- Candidate can keep or release delegates (42): Rubio controls 40 of these; Carson two. Carson has endorsed Donald Trump.
- Delegates become free agents (98): If you're one of these people, you'll likely be hearing from the campaigns.
- Delegates get re-allocated proportionately (5): Alaska only; depending on exact rounding rules, either Trump or Cruz will get three of these, with the other getting two. Kasich finished below the 13% threshold to qualify. Update: Trump was allocated 3, Cruz 2.
