Lemmy Kilmister, lead singer and bassist for Motörhead, died yesterday. And Meadowlark Lemon, too. Man, I feel old.

I remember seeing Meadowlark Lemon playing with the Harlem Globetrotters back in the 1970s.

I can't tell you how many times I saw Motorhead in concert back in the 90s. Good times! RIP Lemmy.
I only saw the Globetrotters once when I was a kid. RIP Meadowlark Lemon.

Lemmy was one of the few true rock and rollers left. Dave Grohl summed him up best in a documentary when he said:
"F*ck Keith Richards, f*ck all those dudes who survived the sixties. Flying around in private jets, living up their gunslinger reputation as they f*ck supermodels in the most expensive hotel in Paris. It's like: you know what Lemmy is doing? Lemmy is... probably drinking Jack'N'Cokes and writing another record!"
Lemmy came off as the type of guy who would sit down next to a fan in a dive bar and have a drink with them because he wanted to be there and it's who he was. In the documentary he lived in a small apartment and was still touring doing shows. Earlier this year he got up on stage at the Forum in LA with Dave Grohl and numerous other well known musicians for Grohl's bday party concert where the proceeds went to musical charities.
Never saw Meadowlark play in person but the highlights of what he could do were amazing.
RIP to both.
