Conservative, anti-establishment Matt Bevins will be the next Governor of Kentucky. Make no mistake about it, this is a big TEA Party / Conservative / Anti-establishment victory. Bevins unsuccessfully challenged Mitch McConnell for US Senate. After such an unsuccessful challenge to a powerful Senate majority leader-- to go on to become governor of the same state is a big deal. therightscoop.com/holy-crap-matt-bevin-is-the-new-governor-of-kentucky/

You do realize Conway lost? I'll preface what I'm about to say by saying that I'm done accepting our friend dj's (whom I could not tag because the feature isn't working at the moment) assertion that he's not a leftist. The left NEVER loses. This is what is so frustrating to those of us who are TEA Party conservatives when the GOP compromises and caves on matters of principle. The left NEVER accepts a loss. When they win they win, and when they lose they win because it was close. And the only reason it was close is that Bevins won big. What politicians like Matt Bevins understand is that unless we get conservative candidates that can motivate and energize the conservative base, we're going to lose. In an age of near universal (e.g. it's not just a Cook County phenomenon) systemic voter fraud, the only way to make sure they don't steal elections is to make sure it's never close.

I'm a sexist pig and I love seeing a woman in politics, most times. I can do without Clinton and Pelosi.

the only reason it was close is that Bevins won big. not according to RCP: www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2015/governor/ky/kentucky_governor_comer_vs_conway-5187.htmlBevins ended up winning by 9%, and that is just great- but this race WAS close, until recently. i don't know enough about Mr. Bevins to comment on him. and the idea that i would WANT this to be closer than it was is your own fiction, bro. it is make believe. please stop making shit up about me. TYIA.

I really should not be doubted when I say conservatism is ascendant. yes, you should: liberals are ascendant, not conservatives, Paul.

If conservatives would go back to business and stay out of personal, they'd do a lot better. I can't vote for someone who wants to turn back the clock to the fifties as far as women are concerned.

How many times does a race won by a rock-ribbed conservative by near double digits have to be portrayed in the media and polling leading up to the election before intelligent, politically astute, attentive people like yourself realize that it was all propaganda to try to affect the outcome rather than to find out how likely voters were actually going to vote? I don't think there was a last minute (depending on the polling) 5% to 8% shift. I think Bevins was always going to win, but the McConnell Republicans and their Democrat allies wanted to try to derail a TEA Party victory.

That's how I feel about it. If they're successful in nominating Bush, I'll stay home. This, in spite of the fact that I'm a middle aged white male.

Sigh Who the hell am I going to vote for? Damn. I'm seriously considering voting Democrat if the GOP nominates someone like Jeb. If we're going to destroy the country then let's rip the damn band aid off and do it already-- and let the blame fall on the Democrats and leftists.

If we are going to suffer from extremist paranoia we might as well claim that Democrats and leftists are destroying the country.

RCP had it as a 1.7% margin. that, to me, is CLOSE. if it was not close, then FINE. if you are going to get into this argument about the polling being slanted again, i will have to send you back to the Mittmentum thread.

Yes Paul, modeling the turnout is key to understanding polling. Here is the chain I quoted - "conservatism is ascendant" - 'Graph' - "Election results". Actual turnout is the key to understanding that.
