No, no Hershey Park - we will only be in Lancaster overnight. I've been fortunate to visit Maine (Portland and environs) and just loved it! I bought a jacket there (it was cold in August!!!!!!!!!) and I still have it. I consider it one of the best souvenirs of a trip ever. FYI - we will be in Boston next year - late April/early May is the plan. And you can get lobster along the east coast - it's Maine lobster, of course. Like any other snowbird, it travels south in winter to keep us happy. you'd best let us know when you have your plans finalized.... We'll get some poor sucker to drive us to the Cape. It is NOT going to be me.

Isn't this just a differently flavored Margarita with vodka rather than tequila? I wouldn't know. I do not indulge in these fruity girly drink thingies. Heh Heh. You've met Mr.Captain You know those "fruity girly" drink thingies are made with tequila, right? We have a Mexican place near us we like to go to for dinner. I'm always the designated driver, always. Why you ask? Because Mr. Captain just adores their Margaritas. AND this place doesn't believe in moderation. He only has one, granted it's the size of a mixing bowl, but it's just one. Nothing better than a tipsy relaxed Mr. Captain .

The better to talk to him about that expensive kitchen remodel, my dear. Just get him plastered, then you can talk appliances.

ummmm......Margaritas........
TD doesn't even ask any more when we go out for Mexican. He just tells the waitress to bring me a large Margarita, heavy on the salt and tequila.
He knows me.

We will not have a car for this trip. Use of the mass transit system will be essential. We've used mass transit in every city we've visited, and of course, I grew up with it. We're also both physically mobile, so distance walking is not an issue. It will only be a four-day trip, so the closer to downtown, the better. Getting to and from Logan is a consideration as well. A hotel with its own airport shuttle would be nice, but I don't consider not having one a dealbreaker. The T in Boston has an airport stop. At the stop, a bus shuttles you to the terminal(s). Taking The T To And From Logan Airportand many hotels have shuttles to/from the airport and some of the farther-out there T stops as well. Riverside comes to mind (Green Line/D branch out in Newton) but that's the one I'm most familiar with b/c of where I grew up. if being that far out of the city to sleep is not over the top for you, check out Hotel Indigo (Zero?) that is pretty much right next door to the Riverside terminal. it was a Holiday Inn at one point, if that helps you gauge quality.

The 7-eleven by my office has the reduced calorie slurpees www.slurpee.com/Flavors/#/Flavor/52/NutritionYea, there's some stuff in the ingredients list I don't recognize but they're ohhhh so good. I figure one or two a year won't kill me. Has anyone ever done the adult Slurpee thing? Like added vodka or gin to one of them? I hear it's good, especially with some of the flavored vodkas. Never done it, but it does sound like an outstanding idea for a party. I've added Bacardi to a Dunkin Donuts strawberry Coolatta once or twice.

I just took the bus from South Station, for $20. it drops you off at the Bourne rotary, which is about 2 miles from my house. to I got there in time to pound 2 tall Jameson 'n gingers at the Tavern in the Square kiosk in the grand hall, AND make it to the bus terminal in time for the bus before the one I had a ticket for. so easy, and no traffic that *I* have to worry about.
