has more balls than the entire "liberal media" combined (Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, and Rachel Maddow excepted):
relevance to other discussions: high.
Cheney's stammering reply is awesomely awful and on-script. blame Pelosi. blame the intelligence. blame everyone other than me.
what a leader! what courage!
what an amoral, utterly irresponsible dirt sack.

He reminds me of Mr Burns on the Simpsons, only that would be insulting Mr. Burns.
I heard an interesting comment from a talking head the other day - that Cheney hated GW. Does anyone on the board know if that was true, or just something stupid a talking head said?

I don't know anything about that, but he (Cheney) always had the look of hating everyone.

they had a falling out in his second term. even Bush knew he was totally wrong. and he felt that Cheney had misled him. he had.

For more about the Bush/Cheney relationship, THIS is an interesting read, I think. on my darker, more cynical days, i think Bush was the worst president in history. but the rest of the time, i just think he was the worst since Harding. and Cheney has a lot to do with that. rarely has a vice president been so wrong, about so much, at the expense of so many.

Not Worth It: Huge Majority Regret Iraq War, Exclusive Poll ShowsBY CARRIE DANN A divided nation finally agrees on something overwhelmingly: the war in Iraq was simply not worth fighting. Seventy-one percent of Americans now say that the war in Iraq “wasn’t worth it,” a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Annenberg poll shows, with skepticism about the lengthy war effort up substantially even in the last 18 months. Just 22 percent now believe the 2003 war effort was worthwhile. Not Worth It: Huge Majority Regret Iraq War, Exclusive Poll Shows

this is the second time Megyn Kelly has impressed me in less than a year. there is hope for FOX, yet. Almost sounded like a real reporter- remember those people from back in the day?
Cheney is pretty much a war criminal- there are thousands of young men that gave their lives because of his bullshit, that will never have a life because they were killed, while his old angry ass is going to live to 100 because someone decided to give a heartless POS a young heart that could have gone to someone worthy of it. Maybe some kid he sent to get shot up. Can't blame Fox even- nobody in their right mind wants his bullshit. Maybe Hannity or Rush will back him up As vile and disgusting as those two are I think they both will let it go. Even after attacking our rescued soldier as the assholes they are.

I wonder how this thread would have evolved if Atlantic Coast Paul had started this. I imagine his source of Fox News would have been denounced here.

i watch enough FOX to know that Democrats are regular visitors on the channel. i have seen Obama himself interviewed by O'Reilly at least twice, for example. how many times did Bush get interviewed in CNN? never? i think never.
And why do you exempt Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, and Rachel Maddow?
i thought i made that clear: they ask tough questions of people that make serious mistakes. was that not clear? my apologies.

the last time i saw Obama on FOX, O'Reilly never actually let him answer a question without interrupting him. which is worse?

I agreed with going in and disarming and deposing Saddam Hussein. I believe leaving him in place was not a viable option in the wake of 9/11. The world is better off without him. If nothing else, his bounty of $25,000 per family of suicide bombers in Israel dried up and those attacks stopped almost immediately after we attacked Iraq. Where they lost my support was in the nation-building goal of a "stable, democratic Iraq". I don't give a shit how they govern themselves. Our foreign policy should be simple: do not fuck with us. Not, well, you know-- if we can just make everyone else just like us, then we'll all get along and the world will be peaceful. I believe that was Hitler's goal?

For more about the Bush/Cheney relationship, THIS is an interesting read, I think. Hmmm, so Cheney wanted a pardon for his toady Libby, and Bush, for once, refused to be Cheney's puppet.
Interesting.

Interesting.
they had a much chillier relationship in his second term. which is why i kinda felt NEUTRAL about Bush during the second term. if his entire term was like his second, he would probably be Carter level bad rather than Harding.

Well the Civil War cost about 1000 million dollars and liberated the slaves, WWII cost 296 billion dollars and liberated Europe, and the Iraq war cost about 1.1 trillion dollars and did what? Kill a tin plated dictator who, by the way, had no weapons of mass destruction? Or was it because we were exporting democracy to the Middle East - only looks like that didn't really 'take', did it, given current events?
I can't think of anything, anything at all we gained by killing Sadam. Iraq is not a safer place, or a better US ally, because he's dead. So that's 1.1 trillion down the hole for squat.

if killing Saddam was the entire purpose of the war, we could have done it for a fraction of the cost.

Well, I rarely watch Rachel Maddow, and I don't recall Colbert really having a lot of political guests on his show. However I've seen Stuart rip into some political people pretty good, both republican and dems. He does not seem to mind putting his guests into some awkward corners, although he usually ends up making a statement along the lines of 'but what do I know, I'm only a stupid entertainer' to try to soften it.
