For spring. Will you be getting anything to update your wardrobe? If so, what will you get and how much will you spend?
I don't need anything, I did a good job last year with my warm weather clothes. So it will have to be a very good deal or something I absolutely love. I have a trip planned with my girlfriends in April and clothes shopping is on the agenda. I have budgetted $500 max for the whole trip so I think that leaves me about $250 for shopping.

Probably not for spring, but I'm still hoping to lose enough weight to warrant rewarding myself with a few new summer items in a smaller size.

I usually end up replacing some things each season. Even though I keep my wardrobe to mix and match basics, nothing lasts forever. I wear professional clothing every day to work, and you can just tell when it's reached the end of its work life.

It depends!
We are a one-in-one-out family (for clothing and most other things). So if something catches my eye, I have to want it bad enough to give up something I already have.

I really really need to replace jeans. I keep putting it off. I wear them daily, so I really have to get them. ETA: Other than that, I think I am good for another year, although, if I remember correctly, some of my capris are showing wear, so I might end up having to replace those too.

Nope, no spring clothes. I'm hoping to lose enough weight to warrant quite a few new things for the fall though, since that's the season that seems to have always have my favorite colors/fashions.

I bought this springs clothes last fall so no money being spent now. If I do amend, it will most likely be from a thrift store for shorts. Do we count undies and socks? Oh and I did find mud boots last month for 17.00. Where I live these are an important part of any spring wardrobe!

I added a few pieces last week. I will likely buy more as the season goes on, but only if it is a good deal.

No - I probably won't be buying any new clothes. I'm getting ready to retire in a couple of years and am trying to make what clothes I have last. I usually wear jeans/tees/turtlenecks on the weekend and have plenty of those, so I will probably only replace those if they wear out.
I do need some new shoes, however and I'm going to the outlet mall with DIL this weekend. They have a Clark's and Merrell's outlets so I'll be getting a couple pairs of shoes.

Maybe some undies and/or sox this year. My shorts are getting worn so I might have to replace a pair or two.

I hate to admit it but I still wear some of my clothes from the '80s (nothing fashionable at that time of course just plain-ish stuff!) I bought a pair of pants to wear with my DS to some of the play places so I can crawl around in the tubes with him without having to worry about splitting my pants but otherwise if I want something "new", I look through my closet and find something I haven't worn in years!

Nope, I got 2 sweaters for Christmas and a pair of boots. Plus, the receptionist where i work looks after me and fixes my clothes with holes, tears and stuff. She's really good to me:)

I'll be buying new spring clothes but not a ton. I just need a few short sleeve/summery type pieces. I also need new jeans really badly. I'll probably end up spending a couple hundred.
I pretty much have to buy new clothes. My body structure has changed quite a bit since having a baby and pretty much nothing in my old wardrobe fit anymore. I was down to two hoodies and one tee shirt for awhile.

I've lost 30 lbs so far and everything I have is huge on me. I figure I can go another 10 lbs before they start falling off me. Then I will buy a few basics to get me thru. I, too will be retiring in a short time so I don't need to spend a lot on clothes.

hopefully just fill-ins. if I can get the ball rolling on the weight loss goal, I've got clothes that work for the 2 sizes between where I am now and where I want to be. should I get back to where I want to be, I'm golden. I was the same size from HS all the way up to a couple years ago. anything that's still in style is in a box, just waiting.

I will likely buy at least a couple new tops once I have a new job because I haven't worked somewhere that didn't require a uniform top in three years, although I could technically survive with the three dresses, pair of dress pants, and couple of nicer tops I already have in my closet. I prefer fall colors and fashions, too, coffeegirl, and like a lot of you, I also have good intentions about losing some weight, so maybe I need to learn how to alter and repurpose my current stuff.

wow LuAnn I'm totally impressed. I want to be like you when I grow up! One in - one out. Karma for you!
As far as clothes shopping for myself I will be buying at least jeans and shoes. I do have a teen son so he takes up most of the clothing dollars for now.

Unfortunately they would be several sizes too small for me and are long gone. I am never going to be that size again. Actually I spend very little money on clothes. I do need some more "work" clothes, which are jeans and very casual shirts. I started my new job just when it started to get cold last year, so will need some warm weather work clothes, but we are talking very inexpensive here. Before I used to work in an office, so I have some nicer clothes, but they are not appropriate for where I work now.

I will be buying. I hope to find things on sale though. I am sending a dozen things to the consignment store this week, so hopefully the money from those will help out towards my new bigger clothes.

I should specify that I can't wear any pants from the 80s--just shirts/jackets. I had bought a bunch of knit stuff that I layered. I still can wear all of it and they still work great when I go on trips (no wrinkles). I donated a ton of stuff in the last few years. If I'd had a daughter instead of my son, I probably would have kept some of it for her to wear to an 80s party but I suspect my son might object to wearing it!

Spring here lasts just a month ~ then we morph into 6 months of HOT SUMMER, so ... probably not. I will probably keep my eyes open for bargains, sales, values and clearance items for summer casual stuff that catches my eye. My wonderful DH found me a cute pair of casual purple pants on clearance (just $6.50) that he surprised me with this morning. I love purple!

After packing up my warm weather clothes last fall, I am pretty certain I will be weeding out some with no need to buy much at all. If anything it will be the occasional thrift store purchase.

Nope, no plans to buy anything for spring (unless something I already own ends up damaged). However, I really do need a new purse. Too bad it's too early for garage sale season here. Unless anyone wishes to make a donation--never owned a Coach (yet).

DQ said: "I was down to two hoodies and one tee shirt for awhile." Swell, but what about pants? ;D
If I live another 15 years I still couldn't wear out what I already have. I won't be shopping for clothes, but if I see some capris that "Clarence"* is offering cheap, I'll buy 'em. Too hot here in the spring/summer to wear jeans and I'm way too old and way too skinny to be out in public in shorts!
*Other people say clearance, but DD insists it's a designer, Clarence, who has fashionable clothes at marked-down prices ;D

No new clothes this month but I did indulge last month, although if it hadn't been for "Clarence" I probably wouldn't have. I love that designer. . . and thank you, Miss Rigby. Most of it was winter clothes but nothing Midwestern heavy. My weakness in the summertime is t-shirts. I probably will end up buying several new ones. I have two dresser drawers full of them but I know, after I go through them, I will only have five or six that are not stained. Out they will go!

In this area, I am probably 'evil' lol compared to most of the frugal population. I won't go out to eat, won't get myself coffee, but darnit I budget in $75 a month for my clothing. I don't spend it all, I roll over a lot of it, and sometimes deposit part of it in savings. But still- this is my weakness. I love fashion, and I don't have a lot of clothes, but what I have is nice. I'm NOT a clothing snob, but when I see something I want I save for it. I just got this dress 2 weeks ago... I got it for $55 with a nice discount coupon. I can't wait to wear it thursday, the weather is supposed to get up to 40 degrees! I'm wearing it with boots, tights, a cardigan, and a belt. I'm also going to wear it to my BF's spring wedding, with a nice pair of heeled sandles www.anntaylorloft.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=28988&N=1200007&pCategoryId=3359&categoryId=211&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_211&loc=TN&gridSize=sm&showAll=true&defaultColor=Tomato Red&defaultSizeType=Regular So, yes I do add to my wardrobe. But it isn't in large amounts, just nice peices and things I love. I also recycle out old things- I donate to salvation army and I sell online.

I might buy a few things, but, really probably don't "need" anything. I have, way, way too many clothes. I tend to buy a lot of stuff on clearance at the end of the season and pack it away, so, I always have new stuff when the season rolls around, which is nice. I haven't hit any winter sales this year. Maybe that'll be on my list this weekend since I have a long weekend. I'm really trying to pare down, but, I do LOVE clothes. I may need a couple new pair of sandals. The ones I like I tend to wear to death over the summer so may need to be replaced.
