It seems odd, but if most or all of the office knows, "it is the best end to a horrible, hideous and inhumane relationship" I'd cut her a lot of slack.

4 months went by very fast. My hubby will be home tonight! Passed all his classes, graduated from AIB & is sitting out a weather delay in Kansas City right now. Can't wait to see him!

AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! Beth *-*-*-*- Dear BIL, You're really, really stupid.

You know we need to backstory. 😇 Lol. Yeah, I know.
I got a phone call around 0925 from someone saying they were from my MIL and FIL's alarm company, saying the garage door alarm (3 car garage in an alley) was going off. Did I want the company to send someone? I said no. Got off the phone with the lady and called my MIL's landline. No answer so I left a message. I called DH's work line. No answer. I called his cell and he picked up. I ran down the situation with him and asked him "what do you want me to do? Go drive down the alley and check?" "yes please" So I tell my boss I'm stepping out for a bit. Leave. Get about 5 minutes out and my cell rings. It's DH saying he got hold of his mom and everything's fine. They don't remember triggering the alarm but had just gotten back from the garden store so the time is fine. I turn around and go back to work.
The last time I got called because of their alarm, it was because my BIL triggered the house alarm. That trip involved getting my parents to come watch the kids while we cautiously went to check it out.
We think I'm the first point of contact because my work is physically closest to their house. I'm about 10 minutes away. DH is 20-25 and BIL teaches, plus he doesn't pick up the phone when any of us call him.
*-*-*-*-*- As for BIL, he wanted some furniture my sister was getting rid of, then dropped off the planet when she wanted to know what was going on and when he was available. So she donated it. He hasn't paid a water bill in quite a while and they've been added to his tax bill, which he hasn't paid since Jan. He's going to lose the house because he can't/won't adult. He's drinking again but limiting himself to beer. He was contemplating embarrassing and humiliating DN#6 at my DD's birthday party, if she showed (she didn't) and currently no one knows where she is living. She's 19. But why is an 11 year's party the place to do that? Who thinks like that?!
*-*-*- MIL and FIL want to vacation with us this summer. I'm not sure if that's actually going to happen because the last few times we've tried to take a vacation with them, they've bailed on us - a couple of time AFTER we've made non refundable deposits*. So I'm trying to not get worked up about it.
*When this happens, I invite my parents to go instead. They always accept and we've had a couple of really nice weekends with them as a result.

I’m sorry about MIL and the alarm. That sounds annoying.
I hope your BIL doesn’t decide crashing at your place is the answer once he gets evicted. I also agree that crashing your DD’s party is not the place to confront DN6.
FWIW, I don’t know where some of DH’s nieces and nephews live after the moved out of their parents place (range from 22-31). I would expect their parents would but you never know based on some of the relationships.

I am sorry yesterday did not go like you had hoped. When I ask you to stop asking a question, please do so. I know my family a little better than you.

Dear Mother Nature:
Could we get just a bit of rain? Pretty please? Just enough to put out that wildfire. Hitting 100 degrees tomorrow really isn't going to help.
Sincerely,
Busymom

I would like to thank my friend for being nosy. She didn't believe I played as much golf as I did 15 to 20 y.a. I recall she asked if I minded if she tracked my number of times playing. No, it's public information. Some people are convinced of some back ground lies about me. She has the proof that I was on the golf course so much that I was too tired to do anything afterward.

I had previously assumed that he'd move in with his parents but when he did that during the divorce, he drove MIL crazy by eating all the snacks she'd buy. I don't know if he was contributing to help with the bills or not while he was there. But I'm not sure she can say "no" to him.

Not much, but let's just say some people shouldn't be allowed to drive in stormy conditions, and that mollyanna58 was correct. My flights to and from vacation were both delayed due to weather. A shout out to pilots, however! The turbulence during one of my flights was so bad as we were approaching our destination, the veteran airline attendant said it was the worst she'd ever seen. Thank goodness I was up in first class, as she said it's worse in the main cabin.

I know all about Colorado drivers in the snow. I actually do think they are worse than Iowa drivers in the snow.
At least you survived the turbulence.

Dear neighbor, You are a nursing home. Yay, you’re having a 5K today, although none of the advertising makes clear who it benefits. Could you please turn down the “music”? I can’t imagine the inmates like it, either, which is probably why the speakers are facing away from your facility. And right at my house. Will you send your lawn crew over to finish mulching tonight, since I can’t work in my yard right now? Also, I closed all the windows. Please don’t make me call the cops

Please don’t make me call the cops I'm all for running to raise funds, but organizations have to be good neighbors when they do it. That means no violating city or county ordinances. I have done some races once and will not do them again, because the organizers did such a crap job, not only failing the participating runners/walkers, but failing the community they used to stage the race.
And by all means, file a complaint. Even a nursing home has to have the proper permits to do this kind of thing. If the race is USATF-sanctioned, you can bet they will lose any future sanctioning considerations. If it isn't, that's an even bigger issue.

Dell Computers: 90 minutes for you to install drivers on a computer that is 39 days old. Tech tells me there is something wrong with the software and transfers me. That department immediately asks for $169 to look at a computer that is 39 days old and cost less than $300. I think not. I want my money back.

I would be willing to bet that your cheapy laptop has almost no RAM. I did that to myself with the last one I bought. it now takes up space in my filing cabinet, used sparingly when my work laptop is locked out from allowing me to do something. good luck with Dell.

2 1/2 hours yesterday with all software removed. Still runs slow according to them and it's the Operating System, which they don't handle.
Will be sending emails to Dell today. Once resolved one way or the other, I will remove the hard drive and recycle the lemon computer.

Checked it out and you are correct. Wish I knew more about RAM when I bought it. That will not be in the letter I write tomorrow. Also found out per the AG's office here, they want a copy of written correspondence to the seller (Dell) and to wait 5 business days for a response before sending anything to their office. Their instructions are to deal with one person at a time at the company and not mass email a bunch of people. It was the Colorado AG who finally got a mess straightened out for me when I made a debit card purchase at Best Buy and it was charged 121 times and over drew the account. Took a while, but the Colorado AG got everything reversed, including the overdraft fees. That was in the days when bank accounts had overdraft protection and those charges had gone over that limit, too.
