Only brand of diapers I've ever had problems with is Pampers. Gave her really bad diaper rash, every other brand on the market she's been fine with. Just as well considering Pampers is usually the most expensive brand on the shelf.

Drama- we had better luck with the cheaper brands like Huggies than we ever did with Pampers. Pampers were not worth the extra cost at all.

I usually use Walgreens brand, Target brand or TRU/BRU brand diapers. Even cheaper than Huggies.
I found it funny that everyone kept telling me not to use cheap diapers but I've never had any issues with the cheap diapers, only the expensive ones.

I like Luvs the best; however, the Walgreens brand are currently on sale and are cheaper than Luvs. I wasn't a fan of Walmart of Target's brand of diapers; however, I do like Target's brand of wipes.

I am not a huge fan of TRU/BRU diapers but they can be pretty inexpensive. They have good deals sometimes. We got a case of diaper wipes for free the last itme we purchased disapers there, I haven't had to send any to daycare in months.
I do really like TRU/BRU training pants. I actually prefer them over Huggies Pull Ups.

Archie, Congratulations!
Diapers: I am a fan of Pampers Swaddlers, but the other Pampers stink. I also use Luvs.
zib, My MIL helps us a lot while we work. I am very grateful for everything she does for us. She also helps my SIL with her kids and helps to take care of her mother who has health problems. My parents help as much as they can, but they both still work and live farther away, so they can't just run over to help.
I have one of those kids where Benadryl has the opposite effect, and she goes crazy! I learned that the hard way when she had a bad cold a few months ago.
I don't really give a shit what you believe. You have no idea what our work schedules are like or how my toddler and baby sleep.

KGB- doesn't that just suck? Darn kid is supposed to be sick and is running around like a crazy person because they are hopped up on cold medicine. We learned the hard way which medicines we could give the boy that wouldn't make him hyper.

LOL - welcome to the cruel world of Mommy-Mean-Girls.
I'm sorry your baby wasn't a great sleeper. Those can be tough years.

Diapers - I didn't like like Pampers Swaddlers. When she peed in them, they also felt cold/cool on the outside of the diaper. I didn't like that.

Thanks ladies. I manage. Caffeine is my friend. DD still isn't a good sleeper. She was up half the night last night. We've had consults with the pediatrician and are working on trying to get her into a better sleep routine. Now add DS into the mix, and there's just not a lot of sleep going on around our house for anyone. It would be nice if DH and I both worked Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 jobs where it was easy to evenly split sleep duties, but that's just not the case in our household.

damn Archie, didn't your wife just have a baby? congrats! (better you than me - if I found out today that I was pregnant, I'd leave work, drive to DH's job, and punch him in the testicles)

I must have been the meanest mommie in the world! I didn't give a shit what schedule the baby wanted after they were six months. The kitchen was closed from midnight to six AM period. My kids weren't exactly geniuses as babies but they figured out that they may as well sleep because they weren't getting fed until morning after the last feeding at 10. ;D so did you just listen to them cry? nevermind, saw your other posts. for me, it was just easier to get up and feed them than to lose additional sleep listening to them cry. It is easier for that one night but it really didn't take long for the baby to stop waking up at that time since they weren't getting fed then anymore. It was just a few minutes of them crying before they would get fed each night. By six months old they slept from 10-6 in the morning almost every night. ;D

Yes, parents are delusional in failing to realize that having a child is a completely selfish motive and the only real reason to do so is for your own edification. (that sounds a lot worse than it really is). As with most things, people overestimate how much joy they're going to get from something, and find out once they have it, they've generally overestimated it.

Congrats Archie! Are you closing down shop? I freaked out on DH yesterday and told him he absolutely needed to get his post-vasectomy testing because I'll be damned if I get pregnant randomly at 40. Life is too easy with one almost four year old.

Now that my kids are firmly in elementary school, and on their way to middle school, I meet people who have recently had a baby and I bite my tongue to not say "What the hell are you thinking?!"

KGB, have you looked at red dye. My girl had med reactions and it was to the dye, Benadryl does come in dye free.

And yes, if I found out I was pregnant, I would probably kick DH in the testicles. And then kick the Doc that did my tubal in the testicles.

A mom just joined my playgroup. She is in her 40's, has a 15 year old DSD and a 3 year old. She's been married for ten years, they tried the first few years, did different things and nothing happened. Thought they couldn't have kids. Oops. My friend's coworker went into the hospital because she thought she had a tumor or something. Nope, she was 4 months pregnant. In her 50's. With two grown kids in their mid 20's.

Reading about all the unexpected pregnancies just made me faint a little Once you decide you are done making babies the thought of an oops is horrifying.
