You know it's bad when your spendthrift daughter talks to you about your spending. Uh oh!!!!!! How bad have you been

The house. It's just a money pit. I'm going to hire a lawn service for now. Cheaper than landscaping of which I can't seem to get anyone to do it anyway.

LOL Zib. My almost 5 yo called me out on my spending this weekend. She basically said something along the lines of 'if you keep shopping, will we run out of money?!' The new house has definitely set me on a spending spree - along with restricting spending for several months beforehand to move less stuff and also just save more. I told her I was being careful enough. Talking more openly about spending and what things cost with the kids came back to bite me LOL.

Took dad grocery shopping this morning. He came to my car in a dirty shirt. He happened to mention that bingo was today instead of yesterday. I had already told him he had to change the shirt. I asked him if he was going to change the shirt and didn't get much of an answer. Helped him get his groceries in the apartment and made him change the shirt to a clean one with no stains. He was not at all happy with me.
I told him if the facility decides he can't care for himself, they will make him move to assisted living. Also told him mom would be so embarrassed of him dressing that way.
Called my sister when I got home. She has made him change shirts twice this week and given him the same reasons I did. So we are on the same page without even talking about it.

Doctor visit yesterday. I hate going.
My bloodwork shows I'm anemic, so I am adding Iron/Vitamin C as a supplement and have to take one of those mail-in poop test thingies to ensure I'm not bleeding inside somewhere.
He removed 5 annoying skin tags on my neck that have been really bothering me. The shot was OUCHY, the removal was fine. I have 5 small bandaids on my neck and it looks like I've been bitten repeatedly by a vampire or that my wonderful DH is really bad at giving hickeys. (smile)
Anemia blood test in 3 months. Full blood panel in 6 months. Followup visit in 6 months.

Molly,
Iron can make you constipated. If that happens, a Vitamin C flush will take care of it. Start with taking 1,000 mg. of vitamin C. Every 1/2 hour, take 500 mg. more until the issue is resolved.
If you can have kiwi fruit -- it's high in vitamin C.

Ran in to the first pastor of the now closed church where I worked today. He told me I looked like I had lost weight. Yes, I have thanks to my gall bladder. It was nice to see him. He was a totally hands off boss and once he thought I could be left alone, he didn't even come to the church on the days I worked.
His health is very poor. I have no idea of the prognosis. I know when he left the church, he was putting in for SSI and could not walk from the front door of the church to his office without stopping to rest. He worked so hard to give his sermon that church members were afraid he would die at the pulpit. Today, he was able to walk farther than the last time I saw him and he did not seem to be struggling to breathe.

I have been doing huge amounts of yardwork the last few days. Tomorrow will be a day of rest and then in the evening Mom and I will go to the rodeo.

I am to take dad to lunch today. If he comes to my car in a dirty shirt, he goes back in to his place and changes in to a clean one. If no clean ones, I bring the food to his place. Had enough of taking him in public in dirty clothes.

Hey! We've got another heat wave starting tomorrow ~ oh goody! (Yikes!) At least I will be at the Petco Adoption Center Friday and Saturday, right?
We've decided to take out the carpeting in the living room and dining room and put in laminate flooring. We've picked out what we like at Lowes, and a guy came to measure, now we're just waiting for the estimate. Part of me is NOT looking forward to moving all that furniture ~ It means packing up the large curio cabinet and the china cabinet. Oh well .... that will be next week's project, right?
I have an eye doc next Wednesday ~ just a checkup. And hopefully a new RX for glasses.
It sounded liked WW2 here on July 3, 4 and 5th.... at some point, I'm hoping people will run out of fireworks/ammo eventually.
We rescued a baby dove from Jack tonight ~ we stuck it up in the now-empty dove's nest (I don't know if he was one of OUR baby doves) We'll check on him tomorrow to see if he made it through the night ~ he was wide-eyed and pretty stressed.

There were fireworks again here last night. I hope that was the end of them, but they can legally set them off until July 8.

I have a neighbor on the next street over who apparently is rationing out their fireworks. They seem to set off 2 every night about 11:30pm. Hopefully they run out soon. My bed also seems to be over run lately with green and purple mice. Not sure why these have suddenly become the favored toy but they need to be batted, swatted and otherwise caught early in the morning. This comes with the accompanying meow that signifies she has caught something. There is a very distinct meow for "I caught something". I was hoping the marvholly would be back to tell us about her move and what she has been up to.

Fireworks seem to be over for now. Cities and towns are trying to decide how they wish to handle it next year since according to people like me, it didn't go well this year. Alcohol and fireworks do not mix.
Lucy likes to play with her toys in the middle of the night. Her favorite is a pink mouse. Yes, the same meow. I sort of notice that Lucy is playing but it no longer wakes me up. She goes through times when she favors a certain toy over the others. Silly cat.
We had bad thunderstorms last night, but not as bad as just a few miles from here where roads are flooded out and trees have fallen on to houses.

I'm sure you are, Molly.
I'm leaving Thursday for Paul McCartney. I'm driving since it's a 3 hour drive. Supposed to be heat index over 100 all of the time I am gone. I don't do well in heat and humidity so I'm happy I am staying across the street from the venue.

Things have been busy at casa Sharon, dealing with horrid handyman, finally getting the new AC unit installed and trying to get ready for DD's baby shower, which is at my place this Saturday. I also have been changing ins agents and ins companies.
By making the ins switch I was able to add an umbrella policy and earthquake insurance for the same annual price as I was paying previously for just home and auto ins.

Big time storms last night. Luckily, we did not have major damage. Town where my cousin lives was destroyed. They live outside of town so hope they are okay. News is reporting nobody injured, which is a good thing.

The last time I checked for earthquake coverage I was told no company is currently writing it. Due to the constant quakes in Oklahoma and parts of Arkansas, plus the proximity to the New Madrid fault, I'm out of luck. Happy you can still get it.

I am in Oregon we have major faults all over the place. There was a period of time where we weren't able to get earthquake insurance either but now we can.

I had a fab time. Thank you. 50 and final!!!
When I got back to my room I found out 3 inches of rain fell at my house. I sure hope the sump pump is keeping up. Some small towns got hit again. Roads wiped out and major damage. There was a tornado in a small town the night before I left and they got rain again last night.

Forgot to say that I had dinner with my nephew the other night. He said last weekend when he and his parents (my sister) went to pick up dad for lunch, he had his coat zippered up so couldn't see his shirt. When they got to Dairy Queen, my sister went ballistic as he had on another filthy shirt again, but he knew he could get by without changing if he zipped up his jacket.
Sorry dad. That will not work in the future.
She did ask him if it would help if she washed them and he said no. She did check again and he has plenty of shirts.

Two busy days at Petco ... a nice collection of adopted kittens. It's still ridiculously hot and smoky here (wildfires) Waiting for an installation date for our flooring.
I have a skeeter bite on my right cheek and it's ITCH!Y
