::this is a subject you may want to refrain from expounding on. ::
Pssshhhh do you know how seldom I get to explain my rating scale for women without any possibility of getting smacked upside the head? I can't pass that up.

I'm too short for Hoops. (I don't blame you, though - 6'6" is tall. DH is 6'4" and we look pretty weird together if I'm not wearing heels.)

OK, so since we're getting down to the nitty gritty, let's dish. Most women at 5'7" and 130 are not going to be a D. Is silicone involved in this equation?
BTW, I've seen your height/weight formula on the runner's sites as the guide for optimal weight for fast runners.

I've dated all the way down to 5'1", but always told myself I probalby woulnd't marry anyone under 5'6". I don't have the patience to hear the same jokes over and over. And I rarely dated girls who wore heels much to close the gap.

I'm now am overfilling a c.

She's got big thighs (proportionately to the rest of her) and child-bearing hips. She's got a butt and everything. I'd actually prefer a C. While we're being honest I didn't really believe what she weighed when she told me, so I made her get on the physician type scale at my parent's house to confirm. Well after we were married, not like I weighed her in on the first date. The topic of weight came up and she told me what she weighed. Given the boobs I didn't really believe it.

Same with my wife actually, she swam and then her chest ballooned up afterwards.

She is graced with some interesting natural proportions, God Bless Her. No klidding! I'm 5'7" and not pregnant at 155 pounds I'm a 34D. It has been 10 years since I've been 130 pounds and I was barely a C cup then.

I love how Hoops has a "minimum" for chest size. Thank God my husband is a butt man because I'm barely an A

Don't read too much into the "minimum" thing. DH always said more than a handful was wasted, but when I was really skinny, I'm pretty sure his hands were pretty flat when taking that measure...

It is amazing to express weight in terms of a physical object. DW did that with bags of flour. The idea that a persons body could hold the equivalent of 4 large bags of pet food, when that same person can barely lift one of those bags, is amazing.
What shasta said about food makes for a very big long term gain. Our eating habits, by which I mean, the quantities of food we eat, are out of control. I always cringe a little when I see guidelines like "a portion of meat the size of a deck of cards". I hope they are talking about casino decks, because I ate 5 decks of cards for dinner, excluding the extra sides.
Its also not just about what you eat, but when, and how. DW and I CONSTANTLY put ourselves in positions where we go too long without eating, and then are starving when we sit down to food. That either translates to 2 appetizers and large entrees, or a lot of "sides". Add in how quickly we can eat, and that makes it worse. We need to have healthy snacks more regularly so that the feeling of intense hunger is staved off, and so we aren't able to eat as much when we do sit down.
I need to focus on defeating my "cues". Combinations and quantities of food, excess hunger... I need to make it a point to chew longer, and pause longer between bites. I can shovel with the best of em, and that is just not good for long term.
The sooner I can get this under control, the better. Its easy to underestimate now, because there really haven't been any serious effects. But I know that in a few years, things could change, and before I know it, I could be 50lbs overweight with a huge gut.

milee - cup size goes up as band size goes down. So a 34 D is the same as a 36C. I'm a 32 C/D when I'm 130. When I was pregnant I was a 36/38 E/F. When I was nursing I was a 36 F/G. It was embarrassing and odd because I'm half Korean. Shouldn't my boobs be small?
DH doesn't like any weight where I'm half his size.

Have you tried switching up your workout routine? Yes and no. Although the times and general type of exercise I do have been fairly consistent, the workouts within that context change each day. Pretty sure the constant changing of the workouts is still getting results because I do continue to grow stronger and am often sore, just wish the result was faster weight loss. Running has always been a fantastic way for me to melt pounds, but as I get older, I have to balance injury risk with potential gains. Maybe time to risk the injuries in exchange for the weight loss. Time to up the miles? Don't do it, Milee! Consider the bodies of sprinters vs. the bodies of marathoners. Which would you rather have? If you answered sprinter, do a quick google search on HIIT training. In study after study HIIT workouts lead to a greater loss of body fat than steady cardio, even when the steady cardio is done for very long periods of time and even when more calories are burned during the steady cardio session. Added bonus. You continue to burn calories 24 hours AFTER a HIIT workout. If you throw in 2 HIIT workouts a week, I bet you will drop weight and spend less time at the gym.

This thread is hilarious! Milee - Have you figured out a solution to moving some belly to butt yet? ;D
Shasta - Congratulations!! That is something to be very proud of.
Hoops - 32D? Are you sure? She must be tiny framed! I'm very small boned and weigh 125 lbs. and I'm a 34D. (5'6" and no hips and small butt) And my mom was 5'5" with 38D's no butt.

Weight should equal 100 lbs + 5 lbs per inch of height over 5'0Shit, by this chart I need to shrink several inches. I'd need to shrink 4" or gain 20 lbs! I think the only time I've been that weight is when 7 or so months pregnant; at 45 I'm not planning on going there again.

Beauty is truly in the eye of the (male) beholder. My DH's standard for boob size: " If they're not drooping, they're not big enough...." I qualify.

My weight loss strategy is what I call the More is Less diet. We just returned from Europe and saw very few fat people. We went for a weeks vacation to a cooking school which included copious amounts of alcohol and 2 multiple coursed meals a day. We all lost weight.
So then we came home and had turkey dinner and felt horrible afterwards. And we realized having several courses and a glass of wine slows you down and by the time you get to the main course, you only eat a small portion of the most calorie dense foods. Plus everything we ate was fresh. LOTS of olive oil. Now most days we have yogurt for breakfast, salad for lunch and multiple course dinner and we are still losing weight.

I am 5'1 and currently 129lbs. I am trying to get back to 115. According to hoops I should be about 105. I personally don't have a problem with being 105 because I have weighed 100lbs most of my life and getting to 100 took a lot of effort and me getting pregnant. No, I do not, nor have I ever had an eating disorder (unless you count eating like a 300 lb man an eating disorder). I have slowed down on my eating because I am getting older and it IS harder to lose the weight. I probably will never get back to 105 or less because DH likes me a little curvier. I didn't have any boobs at all when I was less than 105. Now I am a 32C. I have always had a booty no matter how skinny I was. DH is a booty man so that is good.
Violagirl, I love the European style/way of eating. I am trying to switch to that since I live in Italy, but my family is fighting me.

I want in. Sure, I could stand to lose a few pounds. But, my real problem is that mentally I am a 6'2 Amazon in a petite woman's body. Seriously, my personality so does NOT match my physical stature. There are a lot of people in my life who are lucky I didn't cut them for calling me "cute" long past my early childhood years. People still call me cute. At this point in time, it's better than 'old'.

My problem is I carry all my fat between my hips and knees. At 5'4 and 135lbs, I can see my ribs and I have muscle definition on my arms. If I try to go to 120 (or at least get lean enough to rid myself of the fat in my lower area) I fear my upper body will look like a cancer patient. Why oh why can't my fat be evenly distributed? ?

Mid if it makes you feel any bettter I did not hit my adult height until college, but my adult height is 5'1", you had me beat already by 6th grade! Didn't help that I wore a size 6x (yes the tiny kid size) when I was in 8th grade. On the other hand, grandma was only 4'9" so I outdid someone in my fam!

I'd just like back the 1.5" I've lost since college- and I'm not even that old- mid 30s. I used to be taller than everyone I knew who claimed 5'9" and shorter than those who claimed 5'10". I'm currently participating in a women's health study and I was measured at 5'8". I thought I wasn't supposed to start getting shorter for another 20 years....
As for weight, I'm never going to weigh what Hoops's chart says I should, even if I get back that 7.25 pounds, I mean, 1.5" in height. Right now, I'm simply shooting for under 200lbs.

The pizza and wings I wolfed down tonight were not intended to help the goals stated in this thread. Fortunately I think there is a loophole about comfortable food after long days of work.
I had wine too.
