Actually- when I give it some thought there have been quite a few times when strangers have come to my aid, I had a flat tire once and I wasn't stopped at the side of the road for more than 10 minutes when a man stopped and changed my tire for me. He made me so mad when he wouldn't take a penny for his time and labor, not to mention the time he saved me. He told me to pass it along. Another time, my car simply lost power and stopped. Turned out to be some kind of fuse that is never supposed to break! Well a lady stopped and helped me push the car to a safe spot and then she drove me three miles to my place of work. The furnace repair man has been out to my house 4 times since Christmas this year. Funky little things keep happening to set off the pressure gauge. He hasn't charged me more than the first service call charge. Yes- many people are nice.

I think many people have good intentions to be nice, they just lack the skills to follow through and their schmuck side comes out first. Then there are those who are just born arschluks (sp) and couldn't be nice if their life depended on it.

I think most people are good but I could easily be convinced otherwise after watching a few episodes of Criminal Minds tonight.
Good show but .......................

The little envelope on the left is for email. I'm thinking they show up because you "un-hid" your email address, and you put in your MSN Messenger address. They don't for me (and I'm guessing for others) because my email address is hidden, and I didn't put in my MSN Messenger address.

They must be "enabled" from your profile page - that's why they show up. I am the least pc literate person around and I figured that out?! lol

I think the cast is fantastic. However, the storylines have become too disturbing. I can't watch it anymore. I agree. And make sure you are never eating dinner during this show, CSI and Bones. Unless you are dieting and you really didn't want to eat it.

no people are not nice - they mostly use the nice people to get what they want and will continue to do so until exhausted! mean, nose in the air, I'm better than most, attitude get respected and ahead at work! While I'm there try'n to help and please everyone, volunteering and answering questions! while my FN co-worker straight up well said I don't know, and that's not in my pay range! and he STILL manages to be the FN hero!! HOW IS THAT!! people come to me for answers, get results, and no second or third try cause I get it right the first time, polite and professional. But this other jerk tells people to fuck off, no-do it your dam self and he got 3 - THREE promotions in the 4 FN years he's worked with us!!

Many people are just overstressed and couldn't care less about how they are perceived. I've noticed that it's usually a hot topic of small talk with friends and family if we encounter an act of kindness, because it's so unexpected. I've also noticed that certain people just thrive on using nice people. It's important to learn to stand up for yourself.
On the plus side, I try to take the time to compliment above average service or even a kind smile. People are usually shocked to receive a compliment, but they also feel the need to reciprocate when the next customer comes along. And usually the next customer is also shocked and will act nice to the next random stranger. Being nice could be the norm, but these days very few people have the manners/energy to make that first step, and hold up the door for you (I feel your pain, Hampton) or else be nice. Sad, really.

Some people are nice, others aren't. That's just human nature, as well as the few who actually take pride in how mean they are. As for myself, I work with the Developmentally Disabled, so I have to have a lot of patience. I'm not Job however, so it does break on occasion. In fact, I'm firing a client tomorrow. I doubt she's going to think I'm very nice at all.
