Who cares, whether climate change is man made or not, we can do nothing about it. Kyoto expires this year, and was never implemented in most countries that signed on to it because it's impossible. Until a jump in technology is made we are draining the ocean one teaspoon at a time.

Great, why do you care and what did you do to reduce your carbon footprint to 1990 levels?

I'd say MSN is the one who cares that Koch Industries donated $200,000.00 but didn't care enough to find out how much Microsoft, RJ Reynolds or Altria spent into the fund. Sad reporting. One sided.

OK, cme, what you are saying is that MSN, which is owned by Bill Gates and others, is exposing Microsoft, which is owned by Bill Gates, and others for contributing to climate change denial for political reasons.

OOOHHHKAY! No vandelshandle what I am saying is that your story reports that a single "anonymous" donor donated shy of 1 million and the article states that Koch Industries donated $200,000.00 and that Microsoft, Altaria and RJ Reynolds donated but didn't include the amount of how much these other three companies donated. One sided reporting OOOHHHKAY!

I like it. I think if one group gets to tell everyone a fact, another group should get to tell a contrary fact. Maybe it will make our next generation more analyitical and less likely to repeat half-truths and opinions, thinking they are quoting some well proven scientific fact. And, if there is enough proof, then the kids can rail against the school by doing their own research. {{GASP}}

So?
And by, "So?" I mean who cares? or did you actually have something to say about it.

It was pretty cold during winters in the 70s. Who really cares, it was over 40 years ago.

It was pretty hot during the late 80's too. Oh, and my weather guy can't seem to get the weather prediction right 3 days from now. He's obviously incompetent. As are ALL of his colleagues.

I agree.
I guess I was just wondering what the point of the OP was. I could infer that the OP was outraged by something, or that the OP didn't care enough about the topic to express an opinion, just to post a link.
Or are we discussing political infiltration of the educational system?
Either way it doesn't change the fact that yesterday we got four inches of snow and tonight we're going to have thunderstorms. Oh and I was thinking of having a beer tonight with dinner too.

Personally, I hate it when my dog and I are dozing and his knee jerks into the side of my easy chair. About gives me a fatal heart attack. However, I am sure it will never happen again.

I guess they had enough success with "Evolution Theory Denial" to warrant expanding the process.

As I have asked others before you, please describe how you have reduced your carbon footprint to 1990 levels? Please be specific, you are an engineer, I know you can do it.

The real problem is when people on either side believe or teach theory as if it is fact. If we actually knew the answer to many of these questions they would not be theories. I would suggest they concentrate on becoming proficient in basic education before we spend valuable instruction time arguing over notions or ideas that can not be substantiated.

I wasn't old enough to drive a car in 1990, so I will be hardpressed to achieve this goal. According to this calculator (http://www.carbonfootprint.com/calculator.aspx), I produced 15 metric tons of carbon in 2011 - so I am at least coming in below national average.

Did you have kids in 1990 and do you have kids now? I was a kid in 1990. I don't have kids now. You have that going for you then, but it's going to be hard to drop your carbon footprint to adolescent levels. Most adults can do the following that they didn't do as much as children: Drive Work a job that may have a significant footprint compared to schooling Have a home Take trips including flights Consume more food Spend more time at social functions Spend more time indoors in conditioned spaces Move more often Sleep less Give me some time, I'm sure I can come up with more.
