Wanted to stop in before I head off to that great (stainless steel cutting table) and say, "yourrrrr in trouble now!!!!!!!!!!!!!"...... LOL..... Hope everyone is having fun, and enjoying our political system royally break down before our eyes....... And before anyone can hide that damn cyber 2 x 4, forget it, I hid it, in a safe place, so when I get back on the board, I can yeild it with abandon....... LOL... Course I will probably swing it and hit myself in the back of the head........... LOL... So drop you socks (LOL bet you thought I was gonna say the other word), and grab your ankles, cuz DD will be in a lot of pain when he waketh up...... See ya sooon

Best of luck Diver! May they fix everything faster than they though & have less to fix than they thought. Oh & after my experience with narcotics last week I can say, enjoy the haze.

I just got off the phone with diver.. he's out of surgery, and it went well. he's waiting for the doctor to come see him, and depending on whether there were any complications with his revision, he may even get to go home today.
right now, he's an artificially happy camper with the drugs, but don't expect it to last, lol! he's already talking about wearing out the smite stick...

OMG! That would be wonderful, if he can actually go home today, moonbeam. Not only is it a sign that all went very well, but it will do so much for his emotional well-being. It's always a boost for a patient to find out they can go home because all went exceptionally well. I'm really so happy for him!

Awesome! Glad everything went well! I think DD needs to focus on recovery rather than the smite stick.

I think the biggest letdown between finding out you can go home and actually getting wheeled out the hospital door is the wait. There's so much friggin' paperwork that needs to be done when you're being discharged, it can take hours.

I think DD needs to focus on recovery rather than the smite stick. you'd think so, but he says a hip revision is much less recovery than his original replacement. it's not as invasive. he sounded really good, actually.. very energetic.

I had a left hip replaced in Feb 2001. I never heard of a hip revision. Learn something new everyday, thanks.

Learn something new everyday, thanks. i hadn't either. i asked him what the difference was, and he reminded me he'd posted videos on his facebook hahaha.. i hadn't (and still haven't) watched them. anyway, think of it like simple replacement of worn parts, is what it sounded like to me. bad ball and socket (which were leaching all the metal into his blood stream) out, and the new put in.. all the prep work was done in the initial replacement. i'm sure he'll explain it much better / more accurately when he gets back.
