Yesterday, I was at the gym watching the Travel Channel. Man vs Food was on and Adam was scarfing down a bucket of chicken wings. Hmmmm, those really looked good. It was 4 pm and I was hungry. Lunch was early, soup and an apple since I'm eating between experiments. So I start planning dinner. I have ham, swiss, chives and eggs, I'm thinking I'll be making a quiche for dinner that night. I do have a pie crust in the freezer, but that shouldn't take long to thaw. Dinner plans in the bag, I continue my workout. Next show on was Food Wars. Chicken wings in Buffalo. TD and I've eaten at Anchor Bar, not Duffs (so maybe we'll hit it on the way to NY this month). Hmmmm, chicken wings. End of the episode, next up another one of Food Wars and this is big slice pizza in DC. Hmmmm, pizza sounds good too. I went home and ordered a pizza. Quiche plans out the window.

Don't feel bad, pizza is the perfect food with all the food groups.

Those shows will get you. I could go for some good wings.

I need to google where the winner of the wings food war is. It's in Buffalo somewhere, I wonder how far it'd be off our route.

Travel Channel has become a food porn channel -- Man v. Food, Food Paradise, Top Places to Chow Down, No Reservations.... DH used to tease me because I'd watch marathons of MVF and Food Paradise while sitting wide-eyed like a kid on Christmas morning.

Travel Channel has become a food porn channel
For some reason, it seems more than even Food Network.
Normally, I watch FN while doing my time on the elliptical but the shows that are on while I'm at the gym are reruns these days.

I believe Duff's won the Wing Challenge. And they have 5 convenient locations: 3 in the Buffalo area and 2 in Toronto. ;D www.duffswings.com/menu.htm

Cooking Channel is also an entry into the world of food porn! Yeah, I've watched Street Eats a few times - YUMMM!!! The only good street food trucks around here are the trucks by the university. I'm also happy to see Nigella Lawson's shows (I loved her back when she was on the Style Network almost 10 years ago) on there. Yes, I'm a food porn addict.

MJ, I love Nigella. She's a cook, rather than a chef, and she's not super-skinny. She eats like a real person, and she bases her dishes on normal ingredients. And her kitchen (OK, I know it's likely a TV setting) is cool, too.

Nancy, I think it's actually shot in Nigella's home. At the end you see her sneaking into the kitchen in her robe at night.

I drove DH crazy when I was pregnant because every time I watched a show on the Travel Channel, I wanted whatever they were eating. He refused to fly to Seattle to get me a donut from Voodoo Donuts. I am getting into Bitchin Kitchen on the Cooking Channel. Wish I could cook a gourmet meal while balancing on six inch leopard print heels! Me trying to do that would result in me wearing dinner.

I kinda wondered about that. If it was the same set or not. If it's shot in her house, I assume her neighbors are lovely people (and she feeds them well in return for any disturbance the tapings may cause!). I know Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) uses her own place, and I really like her kitchen, too. And I like her, because she is someone who did not start out in the food business, but got into it late in life. And her hubby Jeffrey is such a teddy bear.

Paula Deen I believe uses her own kitchen and not a set.
I think Giada shoots her current show in her own home as well.
I want to know where the Foodnetwork found that painting of a turkey with a boulder hat that is on the set of Good Eats, I want one!

I tried and failed. Nothing against Nadia G. I just did not like the style of the show. I understand she is professionally trained and off that particular set, quite different in her style.

It annoyed me at first, but it's grown on me. I like it for late night TV watching. Her shepard's pie recipe was AWESOME!
I am also getting more into Anne Burell's Secrets of a Resturant chef. I still find her kinda ditzy but she does really know what she is doing. I was impressed watching her on Worst Cooks of America (I'd love ot get DH on that show. lol).
DH makes me change the channel if Ina Garten is on. He said the idea of her being "barefoot" and cooking grosses him out. Doesn't matter that I explained the name comes from a store she used to own. He has that mental image in his head he can't get out.

Nope, not her kitchen. They hire that kitchen out, but she's had the same kitchen for the last couple years. I think that they mentioned this not being her kitchen on Chefography.
I'd kill for Ina's kitchen.

I want Nadia G's kitchen. I'd also happily take Rachel Ray's kitchen, I've always loved her retro stove.

I noticed her when she was Mario Batali's sous chef in Iron Chef, before she even got her own show. I'm also really hoping that she manages to win The Next Iron Chef.

I like that show, but I can barely make it past 9pm anymore so I haven't seen it in a long time. And yes, her kitchen is the SH*T!!!!

I was rooting for Robert Irvine, but he already got booted.
I think Micheal Ciarallo is an ass. I hope that is just clever editing. I used to like his show on the Foodnetwork but he comes across as a real egomanic on Next Iron Chef.
Sheesh, orange and green! Really?
I don't like the color scheme, I'd take her set up and equiptment.

Michael Ciarello was an ass on Top Chef Masters as well. However, he was quite gracious when he was a judge on Top Chef last season. I'm guessing that the ass is his real personality (even though he does have some pretty awesome recipes out there on FN website).

I am another Food Network and cooking channel addict I was rooting for Robert Irvine too So now I am rooting for Chef Zakarian as the next iron Chef. And I want Alex Guarnaschelli booted. I just can't stand that woman! She is a judge on the Chopped series very often and I hate her smug attitude!
