Below the belt, maybe.[did I just say that?] but not as cheap as many think. What she said was something about being connected with friends that use the term oral relief station. Google oral relief station and West.Seems he contributes to a biker mag and is linked to a group that uses that phrase for women quite a bit. edit--- Her actual quote- "He thinks it's OK to objectify and denigrate women. He thinks it's OK to take away our reproductive freedom. He thinks it's OK to associate with people who refer to women as oral relief stations" She did not say he uses women as oral relief stations. She was refering to his association with the biker magizine and group that uses the phrase .

She did not say he [did]. . . . She was refering to his association with [others who did]. . . . Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that the very thing liberals cry the loudest about? Being criticized because of their associations? I'm beginning to think the whole blow-up is because West had took it upon himnself to turn some of the democrat's word-games back on them. It comes down to this take-of on an Obama news release: "President Obama suggests cuts to Medicare"? and West repeated it. Now everybody knows you do NOT take an Obamaa/Democrat position and subscribe to it without peril of belittleing comments from Democrats, especially front row Democrats prone to having hissy fits over their own inability to sell the same programs. Today I heard Obama is "willing" to cut Medicare costs by raising the eligibility age. Someone should alert Miz Schultz that West may agree to that. She will need time to formulate her "behind his back attack".

Ok thanx for your explanation but I never saw that phrase used before "oral relief stations"..... Just Biker's language?? Nancy Pelosi has been taunting John Boehner ever since he replaced her as Speaker...but Boehner probably doesn't care or have time to fire off an angry email to Ms Pelosi....this is all part of politics and unfortunately you will see far, far worse than what West called Ms Wasserman Schultz as we get nearer to the 2012 elections

These two have a history behind the current squabble. Neither is blameless; neither is a victim. They need to keep their private feud out of the public domain. They simply don't like each other.

There's a lot of that going around lately and is said to be highly contagious

I don't see what the big deal is. He could have called her a stupid c. That would be bad.
Here are some quotes from Debbie:
“We see a clear attempt for the government to back out of its commitment to seniors. As a result, many seniors in America will be forced into poverty, and worse. Some seniors will end up dying because they are forced to put off getting that pain checked out due to huge out-of-pocket costs that will skyrocket for them. … This plan would literally be a death trap for some seniors.”
“Diversity on the bench is critical. As practitioners, you need judges who ‘get it’! We need judges who understand what discrimination feels like. We need judges who understand what inequality feels like. We need judges who understand the subtleties of unfair treatment and who are willing to call it out when they see it.”
- apparently, we want bias in our courts?
“I don’t see any swastikas or any pictures of the President in black face or burned in effigy here. The difference between the way we express our First Amendment rights and the way I’ve seen Tea Party extremists—Republican Tea Party extremists—express their right is dramatically different.”
-part of the history of West?
“After my daughter heard that, you know, Gabby had been shot, the first thing she asked me was, you know, ‘Mommy, are you going to get shot? Does that mean you're going to get shot? … But Mommy, Florida's going to pass an immigration law like Arizona and then people are going to be mad at you.’ ”
-That's just sick to use this for politics.
This woman has shown her lack of class over and over again. This is nothing but political tit for tat.
I only care about results - don't bother me with this useless bullshit. We need people in DC that aren't going to dick around with this PC BS. Get shit done - plain and simple.

Why are those who want Congressman West to apologize to Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz not going after one of their own Democrats from Oregon?? His name is Congressman Wu..
Oregon Democrat faces report of sexual allegation Seven-term House member Wu calls allegation 'very serious'

I think it is obvious you do not like Chinese. I find it refreshing that two of our elected representatives have gotten together to come up with conclusions. We now know, thanks to them, that democrats do not like blacks, and republicans do not like women. Tax money well spent.

Ah yes, I remember those ways of speaking in the military "Yes sir/No Sir/Yes ma'am/No ma'am" addressing superiors and those of lower rank to you by their rank, etc. Like Chiver I see the subtle and not so subtle ways of discriminate. Notice that Congressman West addressed his political equal by her first name, not her title...Take that you little whoo whoo, I'll use a little dig to put you in your place. For may ppl this kind of slur flies under the radar while having an impact of eroding respect for the other person. And if West was still in uniform and addressed a high ranking civilian leader in this manner he would probably be slapped with a non-judicial punishment for insubordination.

We now know, thanks to them, that democrats do not like blacks, and republicans do not like women. Tax money well spent. Where's the outrage by the Liberal women here who have been asking for West to apologize??? What about this Democrat from Oregon? Does he get a pass since he is NOT a Republican??? Just saying............!!!!!!!!!!!! Congressman David Wu faces ethics probe for sexual misconduct Pelosi calls for enquiry into Ore. Democrat after accusations of unwanted encounter with teen Pelosi said she would send a formal request to the House Ethics Committee on Monday. Despite the allegations, Wu has insisted that he will not resign, The Oregonian newspaper quoted a senior Democratic official as saying. However, the seven term representative will not seek reelection and will retire after his term ends, a Wu adviser told POLITICO late Sunday night. The chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Representative Steve Israel of New York, backed Pelosi's decision. "New allegations of unacceptable behavior by Congressman Wu are extremely serious and disturbing," Israel said. Erratic behavior The new allegations follow other behavior problems for Wu. He announced in February that he was undergoing psychiatric treatment after his staff complained about his erratic behavior in the run up to the November 2010 Congressional elections. They said Wu had behaved strangely at meetings and had emailed pictures of himself wearing a tiger suit to staff. Several key staff members resigned following the election. Wu, who represents the Portland area, is in his seventh two-year term in the House. Two Democrats have already announced they will seek Wu's seat in the 2012 congressional election. Former Representative Anthony Weiner, a New York Democrat, resigned in June over an Internet sex scandal. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43876976/ns/politics-capitol_hill/

Pelosi and ethics probes is a farce...IMHO but what would the news be if Wu were a republican congressman from Oregon??? Would he be rebuked as much as West has been by the Liberal Media and the so called gang of Pit Bulls in High Heels in the Democratic Congressional Caucus???
They are screaming about West but are silent about Wu?? Was does this say about poltical gamesmenship??

Pelosi has been warned about congressman Wu for a long time and tried to cover it up...she doesn't want another Dem scandal on her watch, I guess?? Why is Debbie Wassermann Schultz silent about Wu but going bonkers about West? Double standard again in the Democratic Caucus??

As the OP points out, Pelosi is calling for investigations.

Yes, standard political double standard (e.g. Senator Vittor). [/color] [/quote]

and that it happens on both sides. I don't think anyone here has ever disagreed with that. I think it is a good thing that our elected officials are slow to overturn election results. It is frustrating at times when the voters are slow or worse never clue in to who they are electing. But it is better than a system in which a powerful group within Congress could bounce out people elected by different constituencies based on weak/trumped up charges and politics.

Yes it was Pelosi who said that and she has called for an investigation. Too little too late???...] It certainly would have been good for someone to step up during the primary season and challenge Wu. It would have been good for the people of his district to not re-elect him. As I stated earlier, I believe it is better late than something done too early; better slowly than quickly.

Personally, I don't think the two compare.I have not seen anyone defwnd Wu,and I doubt I will. Cruise the boards and you see an awful lot defending West, even making him out to be a hero of some sort.Check out FoxNation. They want him to run for president now. Wu is accused of sexual misconduct, West of being a jerk.Worlds apart. No one is defending Wu.

Should congressman Wu's actions be given more scrutiny by the congresswomen than West's

Because a non-public investigation of Wu's purported illegal activity is the proper path forward while (at least some feel that) a public apology from West for his borish behavior is appropriate in that case. Two very different situations.
