Check out the link I posted for the OP. That site, Salon, a well-regarded liberal "news" outlet, has 22 PAGES of articles about Bachmann. By my count, thats about 132 separate articles on Bachmann. No one spills ink like that on something they don't care about. There's fear, alright, and it smells... BTW, Salon has an entire section of the site devoted to Sarah Palin, literally hundreds of articles, another liberal boogeyman who never fails to scare the piss out of the left...

Ink like that is spilled as often out of pure hilarity as out of fear, ed. Bachmann is an ongoing fountain of the ridiculous and some sites just can't help splashing in that fountain. Frankly, I don't bother reading much about either Bachmann or Palin, no matter which side is splashing in said fountain.

Here is the oldest one: Wednesday, Nov 5, 2008 01:08 ET War Room Bachmann snatches victory back from jaws of defeat By Alex Koppelman
Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., should have cruised to reelection, and at one point she was on her way to doing so. Then she went on MSNBC's "Hardball," where she said that Barack Obama "may have anti-American views" and called on the media to investigate her fellow members of Congress, and gave her Democratic challenger new life.
But still, Bachmann was able to salvage a win on Tuesday, beating Democrat Elwyn Tinklenberg 47-43. Third-party candidate Bob Anderson managed to pull 10 percent of the vote.
So the articles stretch back to 2008. 132 articles in almost three years. Obsession?

Geez Ed, you keep telling me how terrified I am,. but like most stuff you spout off about, it simply isn't true. Not even close. Nobody really takes either one of these women seriously. They're much like train wrecks.

Bachmann might conceivably dethrone one or both of them.

"I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out under another, then under another Democrat president, Jimmy Carter. I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it's an interesting coincidence." -Rep. Michele Bachmann, on the 1976 Swine Flu outbreak that happened when Gerald Ford, a Republican, was president, April 28, 2009

Let's face it what other of our 50 states besides Minnesota would have elected Michele Bachmann as their US Senator. ..don't forget Minnesota also elected two other beauties Jesse "The Body" Ventura and Al "Mr SNL" Franken..

Oh, dear. Poor woman. I'm not sure a teleprompter would help in this case. She'd probably just disagree with it and go right on ...

"Take this into consideration. If we look at American history, between 1942 and 1947, the data that was collected by the Census Bureau was handed over to the FBI and other organizations at the request of President Roosevelt, and that's how the Japanese were rounded up and put into the internment camps. I'm not saying that that's what the Administration is planning to do, but I am saying that private personal information that was given to the Census Bureau in the 1940s was used against Americans to round them up, in a violation of their constitutional rights, and put the Japanese in internment camps." -Rep. Michele Bachmann, June 2009

I can't think of a better nominee for the Republicans than Michelle Bachmann. Best entertainment, ever.

reading about Bachmann is like smoking pot. she makes me giggle. Why? What's so funny? that she can say woefully ignorant and misinformed things with almost religious fervor, for one. that she never really answers questions but spews the same apocalyptic vision over and over again, for another. and that she does all of the above with a smile that could melt Anita Bryants Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate. even a rational conservative would have to admit that she is pretty awesomely entertaining. if you want an example, just look at some of her census craziness. that really ended it for me, insofar as taking her seriously. you know- the same things that amuse you about Nancy Pelosi? i can't take either of them seriously.

Romney, Bachmann --- I am lefty and would heartily welcome either - they will both lose. Romney takes over perfectly good companies and then bleeds them to death with predetory finances - adding to unemployment. Bachmann with a ton of skeletons and no ability to contain her warped sense of reality. Bring them both on!!!
