LOL!!! But, I don't see how what took years to get to this point can be automatically turned around within a short timeframe. If an individual had a recession and was in debt, it would take years to get out of it by trimming the fat, making concessions, giving up certain luxiries in order to pay down debt. Thinking that government should be able to do the same instantaneously is crazy. However, there first must be a plan in order to act ... THERE IS NO CONCRETE PLAN.

[q]Yes describe what a jobs bill should look like. [/q] Higher taxes on those who make 250,000 or more (small business anyone) Substantial wage increases (on top of higher taxes) Forced to offer Healthcare even if at inflated rates or face fines (more taxes) Looks like a great road to recovery. doesn't it?

Yea!! Let's hear it for the jobs bill.

Don't know but Congressman Cantor stormed out of the Budget Meetings today chaired by Joe Biden....Cantor says that tax increases have to be off the table if Biden wants to cut a deal. And he,& his boss Boehner would rather work with Obama rather than Biden because Ole Joe falls a sleep a lot lately and makes a lot of mistakes about Medicaire and Social Security changes...

www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=J6TcpfBHlbsThe Washington Post babbled ... about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush. Amazingly enough, a lot of people swallow this nonsense. So once more, a short civics lesson. Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party. Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009 as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets. And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period: If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

and of course playing chicken with the debt ceiling is a great idea... And I remember Obama voting against raising the debt ceiling when he was in congress claiming it was the current administrations spending that was at fault and that was why it shouldn't be raised.

Obama may have voted against a rise but it was irrelevant. Dems don't play chicken with the debt ceiling. Pubs control the house and control the purse strings. The US will remember their BS. I know, let's destroy medicare, lower taxes on the bloated rich, AND play chicken with consumer and financial confidence 24/7/365...... Discredited ideology idiocy...

You do realize you're not reporting on the NBC, CBS, or ABC network news don't you ?

you betcha! Ditto! Bring back the WPA if needed, but do something. Get people working and you won't have to worry about the deficit and you may even be able to pass out some tax cuts.

No more tax cuts for the bloated rich! This is getting to be like a banana republic- the rich/poor gap and upward mobilityhave never been worse, like the min. wage STILL is...

When will the Democratic leadership in the House get behind a bill co sponsored by Ron Paul and Barney Frank to bring all of our troops who are overseas home within the next ten years? Both Frank and Paul have had a cost study done for this bill and they claim the money saved would balance the Federal Budget within those ten years...
Ron Paul, ’08 GOP presidential contender, is a conservative libertarian leading light and Tea Party hero. Barney Frank is a no-apologies liberal Democrat. They agree on one big thing. America’s giant military budget must be cut, in a giant way: a trillion-dollar cut over the next decade. We can’t afford our own security policy, say Frank and Paul. And it’s not making us secure. It’s time for a new strategy, they say. Time to put the vast Pentagon budget on the table, and start slashing We hear the views of conservative Ron Paul and liberal Barney Frank on American defense spending

This would make too much sense and might actually be good for the country. Therefore, no chance!

With good fortitude they will keep blocking until the out of control, social program, vote buying Democrats are reigned in. It sure was great when party line votes pushed through Obama care. Now the fallout of that action resulted in a Republican majority in the house. Time to eat crow, hope it's tasty.
