jma, I don't think party line votes resulted in Pubs getting the house. I think it was the lack of dems being able to accomplish things, with majorities and a president. The vote was simply backlash, nothing more and certainly not a mandate. The pendulum will swing back due to the roadblock pubs and their symbolic votes. People are getting pissed at do nothing politicians. Time will tell.

I don't think any one could deny republicans would like to see any signs of a recovery delayed until after the election, but that is a pretty big accuasation to say they are trying to delay it.....

Obama and the Republican need to do something quick and stop the gamesmen ship and finger pointing. Both parties face an August 1 deadline set by the Treasury Department to raise the debt limit before our government risks defaulting on it's obligations..I think President Obama needs to directly intervene in the negotiations by holding one on one meetings with Reid and McConnell ASAP..and forget his campaigning and golf for a few days next week.....IMHO

First reality: A lot of lost jobs are never coming back get use to it. Until there are new ideas and products developed industry does not need any more workers. Secondly as to medicare and medicad the only thing that needs to be done to fix them is to cut out the waste and fraud and there will be a lower cost for both programs. In government departments and I mean all of them, the waste through incompetence and mis-management is a huge number. Duplicate services are also a problem. But this is not likely to change anytime soon. If Wal-mart and target operated the way government does they would be broke in a week.

Very true, but I doubt it is as easy as it sounds.I read the number of busts are way up,though. I wonder what would happen if medicare officials asked for higher administrative costs to help police it...

Ugonow: A lot of waste and fraud would be eliminated if the medicad administrators would just enforce the established policies.
