Someone should kick Mexico's ass just for filing.

When we get some sense, we will just declare war on Mexico and stop their invasion.
Unfortunately, the front lines of the early battles will be our southern states.

We should bill Mexico for everyone we send back. Then sue them for the amount each alien cost us!

I could take a week off and go help. Probably would only need a long weekend, but better to be safe than sorry. I'm only up for flying drones though. Too old and probably too out of shape to be marching around and all that.

Doesn't matter. The Feds will shit it down. States have no rights to make immigration policy. There has to be something the states can do...don't they also have the power to defend their state's own borders? And, if so, some of those borders are on Mexico's side. If anything, this issue may eventually be what causes the "United States" to not be so "united." If the feds refuse to do their jobs at the country's borders, then at some point the states are going to give the middle finger to the Feds and usurp the Fed's border powers. Then the shit really will hit the fan...

Then the shit really will hit the fan... Feds are the only ones to control the international borders. States can't even control their own interstate borders because of federal laws granting US residents free movement across state lines. heh heh heh Though I sometimes think that giving over the whining border states to Mexico (i.e., not CA) and then constructing a wall will not be a bad thing.

Do you know what the Statue of Liberty says? Inscription on the Statue of Liberty Author: Emma Lazarus Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest tossed, I lift my lamp beside the golden door. Do you konw what our immigration laws say? I do. They say that states have no rights to enforce immigration laws. Did you know that?

Shall we apply 150 year old legal concepts to this issue. Can I shoot them down if they are stealing my property? Can I use them for fertilizer if they jump my claim? The latino's have perfectly good countries where they came from. Let them go home and straighten them out if they are unhappy with their lot. This is precisely what native Americans likely told the pilgrims. You have a perfectly good home country. Go back and fix it instead of stealing native American land. Did the pilgrims listen?

I wonder whether Native Americans had laws saying that they don't want to be slaughtered. Nah, can't be. Were the Native Americans (as a whole) a formed country with rules and laws? Or were they many, many different tribes that could barely get along with each other? so you are saying that the Europeans violated not just the law of a single country, but a multitude of tribes!? That's harsh, no?

There is a section in the constitution that says if a state is invaded and the feds don't act, the state can. That should cover states' rights and illegal immigration. At least it does for me.

Too bad your word is not the law. The courts have been very clear on this. States get out of line, they get slapped.

NML, no, it is the constitution. Remember that little document? Washington is out of touch and doesn't realize how close this country is to falling apart again. Should be interesting this time around.

I suspect they also took the land over by force. By the same token, it is the turn of the Latin Americans now.

The Constitution allows for the States to handle anything the Federal can't, or in this case WON'T do. Since the Federal government is complacent and complicit in this matter, then it is left to the states to handle it.

Should be interesting this time around. Yeah, well, those pesky courts think that they know more about the Constitution than you. This is all because of Washington being out of touch with the people, of course.

NML, yes, and sometimes the stunt wins. Congress better act or the feds better stand aside. Don't tell the seniors they better take a cut because we have to bear the cost of millions of illegals. Get rid of the problem now. If the feds don't do it, the states will.

The government just needs to ENFORCE the immigration laws that we have. That right there would solve quite a bit of the problem. They need to quit ignoring the problem and learn the difference between LEGAL and ILLEGAL immigration.
