Well, the announcement has been made and I can finally comment.

First, cudo's to moonbeam. Setting the board up and adding pages for WIR, YM, etc...... that is very thoughtful.

In a nutshell, there are many departments under the umbrella of the Microsoft name. Money is managed by an individual department. This means that if you want to boycott anything boycott Money. Boycotting MSN will be of no help. Let me explain it this way..... like a college that let's say has an engineering school and a school for education. If you want to boycott you boycott a specific school you are concerned with. Best I can explain it.

It's been extremely hard knowing for a long time that this may happen and being unable to comment. I feel the boards serve a need. I'm waiting to see how Bundle will handle this. I strongly disagree with the following comment in MSN's message: reader communities are increasingly moving toward article-page comments and social-networking sites such as Facebook But, like everything new time will tell.

Anyhoo, this is not the first time this has happened. Over 10 years ago I originally posted to ABC, or CBS (memory fails me), message boards and finally after several closings and the final change from MSNBC boards to MSN Money here I am.

The only change for me this time is I will no longer be moderating boards. Won't miss the applying rules end of moderating..... at all..... but will terribly miss the interaction with new and veteran posters. I've met several posters over the years and most recently two of the Florida brats..... If they are nice I just may let them take me to lunch this year.

I am on several private boards with posters I've met over the years and remain friends with them.

Some of you wondered what the mods are like behind the scenes.. well now you are going to find out.

Thanks for the info Sam, or BC. I can appreciate how hard it was to keep quiet. As far as losing the old boards, that's MSN's call and we can only roll with the punches. We'll be fine over here I think.

I don't like Microsoft.....period. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind that they are a monopoly. I just don't like the fact that they act like one.

ok. Hoping beach's reply helped with the question on the quote. I will add that if you are wanting to quote one specific person, each post has a link in the corner above it to do so.

As for changing your posting name, go up to the top of the page to your profile. Click on Modify Profile and just change your Display Name to Sam.
