Not going to comment on this thread and while I would like to see all topics discussed here, I wonder if a topic that touches on peoples religious beliefs and faith is one that should be presented here for consideration? Personally I don't think so. Just my opinion.

An upcoming apocalypse might affect ones choices in the market ,imo. Do we buy gold,or has that boat sailed? It's the end of the world. All the gold will be useless at that point. Time to cash it all in and enjoy. I'm investing in fine women and booze. 137 days and counting to spend it all!!!

I'm not wotrried. 1. Harold Camping proclaimed the Lord's return would be in 1994! 2. Harold Camping now proclaims the Lord's return will be in October, 20, 2011! 3. Harold Camping (Family Radio) has aired Mormon advertisements! 4. Harold Camping taught that NO ONE was saved between 1988 through 1994! 5. Harold Camping teaches that the church age ended in 1994! 6. Harold Camping teaches that the Holy Spirit is NO LONGER working in the church! 7. Harold Camping teaches that EVERY church in the world is apostate! www.jesus-is-savior.com/Wolves/harold_camping.htmI am not affiliated with the link posted above.

I can assure you that my post about the economic collapse has nothing to do with this misguided group of individuals. I don't know how "Christian" this group can actually be, as every bible that I have ever seen has the Messiah clearly stating that "Nobody" knows the hour or the day of His return except the Father. It also clearly states that all of the prophesies have to be fulfilled before the coming of the Christ. Uh, excuse me, but one big prophesy that has to be fulfilled is the rebuilding of the Temple of G-d. If I'm not mistaken, a building called The Dome of the Rock still sits on the site, and even if it somehow disappeared, I doubt that they could build the House of G-d by May 2011.

I still feel this way, and as the last poster has done , taking shots a those who have a particular faith just gets us no where..not something to joke about or criticize. What is there to criticize anyway. On the particular subject there are so many beliefs..and who is it to say their beliefs are the correct one..it is what a person is comfortable in believing in. If I have a particular faith, I know holes could be put into it, and I am sure holes could be put into the faith the one above, who was dissing the authors believes . If some one is comfortable in what they believe in , that is all that is important...
and who knows, in how many months from now again....hey, and you stood on the side lines and...

US private sector adds 297,000 jobs

(Refiles to delete extraneous words in first paragraph) (Updates with market reaction, context)
NEW YORK, Jan 5 (Reuters) - U.S. private employers added 297,000 jobs in December, the biggest increase since at least 2001, compared with a revised gain of 92,000 in November, a private report showed on Wednesday.
The median estimate from 27 economists surveyed by Reuters for the ADP Employer Services report was for a rise of 100,000 private-sector jobs in December.
The November figure was originally reported as a gain of 93,000.
U.S. stock index futures pared losses after the data, while U.S. Treasury prices fell, and the dollar extended gains against the yen and euro.
"We've been building towards a big number ... That's pointing to a big payroll number ahead, and I think we'll get a big healthy report on Friday," said Andrew Wilkinson, senior market analyst at Interactive Brokers Group in Greenwich, Connecticut.
The ADP figures came ahead of the government's much more comprehensive labor market report coming on Friday, which will include both public and private sector employment.
That report is expected to show a rise in overall nonfarm payrolls of 140,000 in December, based on a Reuters poll of analysts, but a rise in private payrolls of 145,000. [ECI/US]
Economists often use the ADP report to fine-tune their forecasts for the payrolls numbers, though it is not always accurate in predicting the outcome.
The ADP report is jointly developed with Macroeconomic Advisers LLC.
