Federal law overrides state law from what I remember in Govt 101. Any lawyers out there ready to render an opinion?

the missing stuff usually has to do with where the images are stored. if that site goes down, no images. ours are scattered here and there, including on a server that virgil pays for himself. or something like that.. i have to go find virgil's post where he explained it.

well, virgil already 'splained, but since i spent time finding the previous post he made on it, i'm posting it anyway! hahahah
every smiley, thread icon, karma icon, etc. on this site is externally hosted. ProBoards does not provide us with server space to upload image content.
The various images point to various external servers. Frequently, one of two things will happen: a) the link will break as a result of the server moving/deleting the resource, or b) the resource will be deliberately moved because the server detects that we are "leeching" data off the server. Our site has grown to the point where an image can receive tens of thousands of client requests a day. Many of the host servers don't care. Some do.
When links break, I deal with them on a month-to-month basis. I copy the resources onto my own server and pay for the bandwidth charges out-of-pocket.
