In anyother modern country, the Dems would be center-right. Calling them Marxist for a private insurer health plan is really something...

The problem of all those extreme groups, extreme left, extreme right, they feel they have all the answers , no compromise, it's a "My way or the highway", inability to be able to moderate their feelings to accept half a loaf instead of no loaf at all...
So far there has been in most cases a merging of the other more moderate forces into doing a consensus, accepting the half loaf, and we keep chugging along
[though in their public rhetoric , both sides they claim they got a bit more then a half, that is for public consumption and to appease their supporters, which to me is acceptable, a little white lie to keep us on the right track is fine by this middle to the left one]
but right now , I am wondering if the more moderate forces combined are strong enough to hold off the extremes of both sides, if they stay with their same intransigences. IMHO by the way.

Just recently, last few months, the electric company in northern NJ, PSE&G, started installing solar panels on telephone poles. Residents and activist groups went ape-shit. Why? What do people have against the solar panels?

The solar panels on telephone poles have been up by me for awhile, maybe last year in the summer? If there were complaints by residents, etc. here I missed it. That was on the local news. I'm surprised anyone would want to put wind farms on the East Coast. My reading on the subject suggests that parts of the West and South are the best sites and perhaps a few in the upper Midwest weren't too bad. My understanding is the east coast really doesn't have the sustained winds to make wind farms practical and cost effective. Right on the shore lines, it is always windy. If you go on any beach in south Jersey, the wind is constantly blowing.

They'll never get a chance, too many Clintons, Kennedys and Kerrys live there (i.e. "not in my backyard")...
