What team helped themselves the most on free agency? Which helped theirself the least? I vote White Sox and Phillies the most Cubs the least- by a mile. No other team came close

Phillies the most, hands down. Of course, I'm taking bets that every game we attend this year (six games) will be a game with Kendrick or whoever the fifth starter will be. I like calling the starting pitching staff HOHLeeShit (Holy shit): Halladay, Oswalt, Hamels, Lee, Fifth Starter. I think the Red Sox also did a tremendous job for themselves. The Nats? Hmm... lost Adam Dunn and gave way too much money to Jayson Werth. He was a blast the last three seasons in Philly, but not worth the purchase price. The Rays are the big losers this off season.

I'd say the Sox (Red, the only important color to me) did pretty well for themselves. I'll have to get back to you on the worst. until I get back from vacation next Monday, I don't really keep up with the rest of the league.

I don't think the Red Sox did as good for themselves as the pundits claim. Their big problem all year was pitching, not offense. They didn't address their starting pitching at all.
As a Yankee's fan, I'm well aware that putting together a ridiculous offensive lineup means nothing in the postseason if you don't have sufficient starting pitching.

Think the Red Sox are going to be very happy this year..at least my family up there think so..except son in law, he's a die hard[poor fella and a sweet guy, Met fan}..however, next year, when they unload all those non producers over the hill players and big bucks salaries and don't try to keep up with the Jonses[Yankees}..and concentrate on National League East, wild car, then see how thing fall out..but they won't , more stupidity long term contracts ..end up the same way in a few year My Marlins, real excited, still young..retooled..buttressed the Achilles heel, hopefully, bull pen..not sure of Center..possible CC they are thinking..never played position before, but...and Stanton of course..pitching, not bad at all..over all , should be interesting , only have to worry about , lets see, Phillies,{no sweat},LOL Braves{oh yeah they got Uggs now} Washington{spending a lot of $ but not this year I don't think and all yeah..Mets..mmmmm Ok still like em ..we'll see.

IMHO, with everyone healthy, we're actually OK. judging by the action taken by the management, I'd venture they agree with me.

Did Cincinnati do anything? They had a heck of a team last year, but if they did not make any adjustments, I do not see them repeating again this year.

I would have to go with boston having the best winter overall, the addition of gonzales and crawford are very big. I think they will be tough to beat as they couldn't have had a worse year with injuries than last year and they still were competitive. Even if their starting pitchers get back to average they will be tough. Phillys rotation now is outstanding although I don't see it lasting for 5 more years, lee, oswald and holliday will soon be all past their primes, but still better than 90% of the starters out their. As a Brewer fan I am excited for the upcoming season, huge additions in marcum and Grienke, their starters pitched along the league average down the stretch last season, these additions should only help. This to go along with a very solid offensive team gives me hope. Defense will be a liability though:/

Red Sox by far the best off season. Worst? Mariners or Cubbies.

Phillies - not even close.
Signing Cliff Lee, getting rid of Durbin & Romero and letting Werth walk at the right time. And they're not done.
Amaro looks like a genius right now.

Update. Cubbies improved their pitching. Picked up a good pitcher the other day, but still have their volcano in waiting self destruct.

Way too early to start discussing.... Hmmn, no. White Sox have already opened up for volunteer workouts at the training camp. Saw some of them on the news, tossing balls around just last night. April is just around the corner.

I see Bobby Jenks badmouthed Ozzie after he was signed by Boston.

Ken Williams picked up Ozzie Guillen's option year already.
And they think this will stop the drama this year.........not a chance.

White Sox have already sold out opening day........not exactly a sure sell out for them every year. Just sayin....... That's a good sign to have the fan interest. I certainly remember the days when a Phillies home opener wasn't a sellout, I never would have thought the entire season would sell out in February like it does anymore.
