Not a chance anything juicy will be among them. The state witheld thousands of emails they felt should not be released.---<<,Not all the e-mails are being released. The state had said that it it is withholding thousands of pages because of privacy concerns or the executive or deliberative exemptions in the state public records law, as it withheld documents in the previous release of Todd Palin emails to msnbc.com.>>>> Why won't she release the long form?

Frankly, although I started this thread, I probably won't participate much. I have no real interest in Ms Palin, and never have. I do notice, however, that quite a few on this board find her interesting and something to discuss. When I saw this, I thought I'd post it to give those folks a chance to put in their two cents about what all this might mean.

I've been aware for some time that the emails would be forthcoming. However, I don't expect much from them. Many will not be released and the rest may be heavily redacted. We'll unlikely learn anything juicy.

Yeah, like every liberal on the board. Their slobbery Palin-fascination is downright creepy. The woman is a private citizen and their obsession is just weird...

With Palin in office, you may want to start practicing those "duck and cover" drills. She is such a wild ass the cold war would start all over again.

IF she were to run, I would not even consider voting for her unless she had an absolutely ace foreign policy person as a running mate/sec of state, i.e. Condoleeza Rice or some other Kissinger-level diplomatic prodigy...

She CAN'T do worse than Obama/Bush, though, and HAS to be better than Romney/Obama/Bush-- right?? Writing on the wall, people. Ugly..

They simply want to spout off some witty sounding, idiotic comment about her in a pathetic attempt to insult and demean the woman. I believe that anonymously kicking sand in someone else's face makes themselves feel better about their own pathetic existences or something.

She's not a candidate for anything at this point, but she does put herself out there so we must expect folks to wish to have their say, I think. I agree that, for the most part, the majority won't have much to say since there's nothing, really, to talk about unless she decides to declare herself a candidate for office.

But let's face reality. The more public speaking one does, the more likely it becomes that they'll get caught saying stupid shit. There isn't a person in the news today that hasn't. That's why I usually just roll my eyes and move on the the next thread. It's a sad state of affairs the way some on here must constantly put someone else down in a pathetic attempt at defining their own superiority. She's still nothing but a fox news pundit.

I agree, floridayankee. That's the risk they take when they decide to embark on a public life. Like you, I don't pay much attention to this sort of thing. We all make errors, regardless of what our political views might be. While not knowing the history of the area/event she was speaking to is a pretty good-sized error, she's not the first to fluff one of these, and she won't be the last. It's not, to me, a Cardinal sin, but it's going to get attention if done by someone seeking the public limelight.

Have you ever seen any show that has a "reporter" of some sort go out into the general public and ask historical and/or current events questions? I saw one a few years back where people didn't even know who the VP was (Cheney was VP at the time). IMHO, she sounds no more or less educated about some things as a good majority of the people out there. OTOH, I do agree...if you're going to speak publicly about a subject, you might want to do just a bit of research to try and sound somewhat intelligent.

Oh, I've read about those types of interviews and it always gives me a chuckle how little the average guy on the street knows about historical/current events. The difference I see, however, is that the average guy on the street is not putting himself in the public eye, really. He/she is being brought forth by someone else. With Ms Palin, you final statement becomes the key one. It's she who's bringing herself to the fore. With that decision come responsibilities. She needs to know what she's talking about and good, diligent research would do much toward that end, I think.
