Is anyone else on this board addicted to Disney World? We will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at the end of the month. Fourth trip this year, am I the only one without enough common sense to stay away?

It'll be a few more years before I'll shell out that much cash for a vacation again. It was fun, but not cheap.

Usually for three-four days at a time. With airfare and food we can do it for @ $1,500. We have an annual pass, which helps keep the ticket prices down. I never said it was rational. We have a moderate household income, with minimal expenses and it's one way we enjoy spending our extra $.

I will rue the day I have to make the obligatory family trip to Disney. Not everybody has to like it (and I'm glad not everyone does). My kids feel the same as you. We leave them at home.

We just spent a week at AKL this month, it was our fourth trip in 4 years, but first stay at AKL. It won't be our last either, it's definitely our favorite resort now!

I've been 3 times in my life. Last time I took the kids. They were about the right ages to enjoy it. They were 9, 7 and 6. I cant wait to go again. Hopefully in the next year or two. The kids are all teens now and we could do more now than we could then like the water parks. There is a lot of walking involved in those water parks and I had just as soon stay in a nice central location where they would know where to find me. I've entertained the idea of after all the kids are off to college moving down and working there. I love it.

We're going back in two weeks. This time with the kids in tow. Fifth trip for me this year, although it was my wifes idea this time, we are going to be staying at the All Sports resort. I've never stayed at one of the value resorts before, but they were offering some really good deals for annual pass holders, so we had to jump. I know, I need to have my head examined, but somethings are hard to pass up..

I wish I could take a quick weekend trip with my daughter to go to the Mickey's Halloween party at Magic Kingdom.
We've stayed at Pop Century and really liked it. Yeah, it's no deluxe, but it was totally fine.

Yeah, it's no deluxe, but it was totally fine. The quick reponse is "just do it" my wife and I have several times this year. I don't know why, but it is the happiest place on earth. The Halloween party looks like a lot of fun, but it can get expensive in a hurry. We're going to just miss it, but we will catch the start of the Christmas season, the food & wine festival at EPCOT, and the art show in Downtown Disney. It really is a big waste of money to fly down there just for the weekend, but somehow I never really learn my lesson.

We went to 2 Pirate & Princess parties back in 2007, once in Feb, then again in Aug. We LOVED those parties but they only did them for maybe 2 years. MK was almost empty, we walked onto just about any ride, plus we got booty bags full of treats. I agree, it's our happy place too, we're addicted for sure.
