To those of you that bank with Wachovia and have completely merged over to Wells Fargo (bank accounts and all), were there any problems? North Carolina is set to switch over in October, so I didn't know if I should be getting worried?

If you have a credit union you can join, I would do that rather than keep my money in WF.
I have a small checking account with Wachovia and received a notice in the mail recently that they'll be changing over to WF within the next couple of months. I moved all my accounts to a local credit union a few months ago and left the Wachovia account open with only a few dollars in it just in case.
Ever since WF and Wachovia merged, I've been getting lots of mail asking me to sign up for their insurance, investment help, credit cards, etc. I'll be closing that account in the next couple of weeks since I don't want to have to deal with all that - it's annoying since I have less than $25 in the account.

We're in California and had a New Jersey-originated Wachovia account that was converted to Wells Fargo sometime ago (I don't remember exactly when). The only hiccup we had was we didn't get our new ATM cards when the Wachovia ones expired. Quick phone call cleared that right up.

BOTH banks stink for customer service so expect no changes there.

I used to work for A.G. Edwards.. I left before they were bought by Wachovia and now Wells Fargo. It was sad to see the hit to downtown St Louis employment as a result of the transactions.

The Florida based accounts are being changed to WF in July. So far, I've received 4 large envelopes, 3 were the same thing, and one actually had needed info in it. I've seen nothing so far however, about what those who d/l transactions into Quicken have to do to continue to use it.
Since our account is held in Florida since we used to live there, this is the 4th bank merger we've gone through. Considering all our bills are on auto-pay, our SS checks and VA disability is direct deposit, and I've got accounts linked every which way, I'm not about to change banks.
Just roll with it, don't bounce checks, and WF will do most of the work for you.
Correction: I just logged in/off the Wachovia site. After logging out there is full instructions of what and when to do it regarding d/l transactions into Quicken software.

I've been getting lots of mail asking me to sign up for their insurance, investment help, credit cards, etc. I have that problem with WF, I get calls offering me free life insurance for a month - jeeez, another 30-day risk free offer that will cost money forever. And I get lots of calls that tell me it's my last chance to get the interest rate on my cc lowered, just push #1. A year or two ago, on a 'free life ins' call I said - "let me interrupt, I want to inform you that if I get one more life insurance call from WF I am going to the bank and closing all accounts and leaving with the cash in hand, your choice". That seems to have worked.
