After this past week's photo finish, will switch mounts (may be sorry) and go with CWS (China Wind Systems) (long) this week. Looks cheap to me with minimal risk. They are a risk, but think bottomed out and should start doing better which may result in some price advance. Will just have to see how it goes.

Ok, if I don't have time to find anything or change my mind, I'll go with CWS short simply because it's a really slim possibility that Mod will win twice in a row. Congratulations on your win today, Mod!

COW long
Tough, tough, decision the week. Should it be MOO, or should it be COW? I own both of them through recent acquisitions. Finally I decided it had to be COW because you can't even have a moo unless you have a cow..
Neither of these comes from my value screens as they only pull stocks, not ETFs.

Long DTV (DirecTV - Cable Television Systems)
The RSI has been in overbought territory but at least it's been in a clear uptrend. It looks like it will have trendline support at around 48 and the current price is 49.73.

K', I'm really going to go short with Arch's JAMN. It's already gone down 4% from Friday, so people look like they starting to sell.

I am sticking with Dynergy, DYN Short. They still have more to lose. Besides, SBS was in the stables last night, so maybe she fed my horse some of those special oats!

BCCI (Baristas Coffee Co., Inc) (Long) It closed Friday at $.585 (& I re-checked rovo's rules before picking a sub-dollar stock; perhaps it won't be for long ( ) Headquartered in the Seattle, Washington area Baristas employs and promotes attractive female baristas trained to interact with the customer to maximize sales. Now if my research is correct (?): 5 stores in the State of Washington. Just opened the first one in Texas; this San Antonio store opened on Saturday, 30 April., only about 2 weeks ago. Quoting their web site: "Baristas Coffee Company is the largest and fastest growing costumed-themed drive through espresso company in the nation."

Yep, contest this week appears to be over. Good call SBS. In real life it's often hard or impossible to find shares to short on a rotting corpse like this, but all's fair in love and war -- and stock picking games. Funny, my broker shows open of 5.17 -- obviously we ought to let Rovo's number stand to attain best results for your call. You might need the help as a short can only gain 100%, whereas if I put the spurs to this cow, there's no mathematical limit to the percentage she could deliver.

Opening price of JAMN? Big Charts still shows $5.59 but TD Ameritrade shows $5.01. MSN Money shows $5.01 also. OK. $5.01 it is. I will alter the posted numbers. Sorry about the error.

for some reason.... JAMN on bigcharts is always about a day behind; they don't even post intraday info. on that symbol. A few minutes ago, they still have Friday's ( not today's). I think I sent them an email a couple of weeks ago. SlowbutSure, don't polish your winner's trophy yet; Market makers in these stocks may not even be watching rovo's contest....they could care less.

I think it's more logical that sound (the moo) travels faster than cows. Actually, I should give some credit to Arch. (Please note I used the word " should".) If he hadn't mentioned JAMN last week, I wouldn't have even looked at it.

SlowbutSure, but check the archives; contest wk. ending 5/6/11, I was lucky (won all 5 days), but long. You made an excellent choice. I thought it would crater before it did. Good short now; & the coffee stock I picked this week ....may be a good short before the week is over... LOL But maybe not, with the young waitresses dressed as the photos show....Business might be good for a long time. But I can't look at uniforms; I'm a chartist.......... LOL

BCCI (Baristas Coffee Co., Inc) I checked out their website. Are we sure coffee is what they're selling? Looks like a whorehouse advertisement to me, which is something I'd definitely be willing to buy stock in.

As I'm sitting here with my 2nd cup of coffee... I'm amused by the fact that SlowbutSure's No. 1 pick; and my "last on the list" pick are both about coffee. Rovo, we're not trying to turn this into a coffee thread....maybe we could talk about the "uniforms"....... LOL

Yeah, well it's pretty obvious what BCCI is selling, and it's got nothing to do with coffee. You pay mama-san the bar fee and then pay the girl for "short-time" or "long-time".
