Plus: It pays a good dividend currently.
RCMT long Brand new pick from one of my better screens. Man tells me there's a pig in this poke, so I bought it today. Can't wait to open it up to see if it's really a pig. Mmm, roast suckling pig.

long BRCM (Broadcom Corp. - Semiconductors Integrated Circuits)
Last weeks pick TER got hit with an industry downgrade by Goldman last week and the company was removed from the conviction buy list on valuation. I think BRCM looks a little better technically than TER so I will switch over to it. I use the RSI, TRIX and, DMI but this also fits the price>5 sma> 15 sma> 50 sma pattern.
Edit: I forgot to mention I own a bull Feb 11 call spread on BRCM with strikes at 37(bought) and 42(sold)
I see a difficult and uneven week ahead of us as earnings begin to trickle in. Excerpt from MarketWatch:
The biggest jump is expected to come from financial services, with profit growth of 250%, according to Standard & Poor's, followed by energy at 118%, materials at 70% and consumer discretionary at 63%. Laggards include health care, with just 11% growth; the same for utilities; telecommunications at 7%; and consumer staples at 6%. Industrials and information technology hold the middle ground at 26% and 52%, respectively.
I'm going to opt for FAS Long this week. It will probably decline most of the week but may surge on Friday. If not I'm toast.
FAS is + 300% of the price performance of the Russell 1000® Financial Services Index .

GSL Global Ship Lease Inc. (long) I almost passed submitting a symbol this week; but didn't want to lose my entrance fee.. LOL. & not excited about this entry...but we'll see. It closed Friday at $5.73 ( 52 wk. high/low $5.85/$1.40). This company "might" be similar to DRYS, which I've been in a long time. It's incorp. in the Marshall Islands. Good? Bad? Supposedly, it's a rapidly growing containship charter owner. But if this pick doesn't perform, I'm sure Rovo will allow me to switch it to a short pick about mid week............. LOL
Looks like RRD is in big trouble today.... I'm going down, WAY DOWN. I suspect some of the take-overs are cashing in shares they received... over 6M shares traded. Hope the sales have now been taken care of, or else will be holding up the whole list again this week..
I'm actually amazed that the stock is doing so well. Usually when I see that a stock has been bumped up in performance rating, there is an increase in price and high volume of buyers for a couple of days (which happened last week), but then it stabilizes the following week. Who knew that RRR had the staying power to last this long during the winter when it is an equipment rental company? Good for it.

KLAC is up big after hours ...........
Unfortunately it won't be enough to make up for the beating that CSTR is taking. Congratz majeasy. All in all though the earnings short worked pretty well and it seems to be continuing. INTC would have been a great short in yesterday's afterhours, it was up close to 3% in yesterday's AH today it's down 1% from yesterday's close.

livingincali,....you beat me to it. I came on here to tease uncle.23 a little about not getting his eyes too glued on that first place trophy....that majeasy's short (CSTR) is performing exactly as a short pick should. In real horse races, someone can't bet on the worse horse and win.. LOL.
