The Israeli army this week was busy readying itself for the next pan-Arab assault on Israel's borders, scheduled for Sunday. Two weeks ago, Arabs from Lebanon, Syria and Gaza marched on Israel's borders in an effort to infiltrate the Jewish state en masse. They were marking Nakba Day - the Day of Catastrophe when Israel was reborn as a nation-state. The Nakba Day demonstrations saw at least 100 Syrians cross into the Golan Heights, where many clashed with Israeli soldiers. The upcoming demonstration will mark "Naksa Day" - the Day of the Setback, the anniversary of the start of the Six Day War in 1967. Demonstrations are planned for Sunday and Tuesday. Sunday, which is the actual anniversary of the war, is expected to see the largest confrontations. Israeli forces are determined that there will be no border breaches this time, but that the Arabs will also not score a public relations victory by baiting the IDF into killing demonstrators. Israeli soldiers have been ordered to first shout for the demonstrators to halt if they approach the border. If the demonstrators continue to advance, the Israelis will fire warning shots in the air. If that doesn't work, the soldiers are authorized to direct non-lethal fire at the demonstrators' lower extremities. Reports out of Lebanon suggest that some 100,000 may participate in Sunday's march. But the Lebanese army has also suggested it will not allow any of them to reach the border. www.israeltoday.co.il/tabid/178/nid/22813/language/en-US/Default.aspx

Dogs , Rubber Bullets . and tear gas. Fire Hoses or too similer to Selma?? No dogs though. If 100,000 gathered at one of our border crossings , Mexico I am thinking and started marching over the opening, what would we do"' Anyone? Those who will suggest MG set up in interlocking fire please refrain, we all understand your views but for the others , any suggestions. Granted we have depth to allow to come in , disperse, no worry , pick them , most, up as they get more and more into the country side, unless terrorist in the midst, seeing opportunity, but speaking only of Mexicans wanting to come in and work, illegal, legal, just work. Here , Israel , if they cross in mass the real threat with in the midst, not just angry folk wanting to make a statement but some crazies ready to close with Israeli Military and set themselves off and if fellow innocent Arabs go up too, well collateral damage and in their mind, they too will be in paradise so no biggie. Actually the leaders of the crazies, who will be well back if there in person, but safely away, g-d forbid they sacrificed them selves, probably would love to see many deaths and casualties. So what do you do..?

It is getting to the point where the Israel's will start shooting first and ask questions later and I don't blame them. I say just shoot straight. I am on Israel's side obviously. We can thank the British, French, Spain and even Turkey going back many years when they had control of the area for the present day mess.

There will be young people here, angry yes...and way behind them safely out of range for retribution , older leaders of, who will be instigating and pushing the young ones to go for it..and little care for their welfare, in fact another 10/20 deaths would fit into their plans nicely. {The one positive is , it is the Israeli's we are talking about and they are very good in identifying leadership and also very good in finding where they are , and very, very very good in dealing with such leadership, as Hamas , Hezbollah , Black September, and so many others have found out to their chagrin and their ultimate end} However, in the here and know, if possible, hopefully it doesn't happen though if some do break through, try to close with the young troops, for self protection the troops, who knows what they Arab youth, may be carrying on their person, the ones who might break through, casualties in that case will happen.

I object to the headline. It should read "Arabs prepare to invade Israel".

And with the new "Obama Doctrine" introduced in Libya of intervention to "protect civilians", thoughtful people have to wonder if Obama's seemingly senseless and directionless policy there-- is really a pretext to use the military might of the United States against Israel?

Just idiot cannon fodder sent forward to irritate the giant and provoke her to violence. BTW I heard Bill Ayers will take part in a new Gaza flotilla.

And with the new "Obama Doctrine" introduced in Libya of intervention to "protect civilians", thoughtful people have to wonder if Obama's seemingly senseless and directionless policy there-- is really a pretext to use the military might of the United States against Israel? Huh?? In Lybia you had the Gaddafi forces surrounding and about to enter the last city of the dissidents , Basra I believe , and Gaddafi saying his forces would be going house to house to find the ones who were responsible for the uprising, families, perps, streets will run in blood, or close to those words. Possible bravado but with how he was attacking civilians , his history of crackdowns only 32 years of experience how he does things, POTUS , and coalition leaders made a decision. I guess if you were PONTUS you would have called Gaddafi's bluff, knew he wouldn't have killed as he said he would , only say a little bit right. Just don't be one of those of the 'little bit " is all. As it was , other Western leaders felt he same way, also weren't sure if it was bravado, didn't want to take the chance. So a coalition was formed, we were very active in the beginning, then went o the back ground and now it seems it just may be coming to some kind of settlement, hopefully Qaddafi gone from power , possible , as if the latest has some legs, , if his forces disintegrate, the rebels may not have to share anything and a new beginning for the Libyans. Israel Borders, here you have a nations borders under attack...Nations, States have the right to defend their borders, and as long as just defensive..if lethal force is held back as much as possible, the safety of their own forces are not threatened and if threatened..well, what happens, happens, and the blame is on those violating the borders. They will be young, those confronting, but they are not dumb and the forces who are defending the borders, they too are very young, that is who man those battle lines, the very young, and they are bright to, not dumb and if they feel they are threatened in a them or us...I am sure it will be they who suffer. IMHO.
