...I never liked DoEd in the 1st place... but will this bring them down? Nope. The market will eventually bring it down. Homeschooling and private schooling-- with the aid of technology is already slowly, but inexorably dismantling state controlled education. This isn't to say they aren't going to keep right on spending our money, but reduced influence is assured- and eventually, it'll go away. Now, all that is predicated on the assumption that the government won't do something stupid and "ban" homeschooling. If they pick a fight like that, we win-- and a lot faster.

Got any stats on that, because I think you are wrong on that one. With most households requiring a double earner income home schooling just isn't an option for most families. Private schools for k-8 are downsizing and closing in my area of the Northeast.

There is a virtual high school program that lets you go to public school, I wonder if there would be an option for private virtual school?
