Moonbeam I just put up a new thread, trying to start a seriouse discussion in the right venue but have to say, I was glad to see I could just cut/past what I wanted and it seems it took all of what I wanted in charecters which wasn't the csse over at the old so I don't have a clue as to how you constructed this site but so far, I am impressed. As long as I have you, is there a "quote " symbol as we had on the old zone, notice how I am referring in the "past", "dead as a door nail" , or should I just use quotes " "....but am impressed in your site...whether there will be seriouse discussions on the "your, the new zone ", well that is up to the posters of course , but thought I would give it a shot but as said..very impressive, thanks again. Also, wanted to place a smiley here at the end but can't see how to do it, sorry for the dimbness but then again, might be some other dumb ones here too who will learn but won't have to be embarressed to ask.

We're all figuring it out as we go dezi. If you want to put something in a quote box use the "Reply" button on the bottom right of the page. You'll get something similar to the old site with emoticons, spell check, etc. There's a box that looks like a piece of paper with an orange arrow pointing to the right. That's the quote box.

Thanks KGB..me too on the figuring, I did hit reply wanted to put a smiley on the end of this one but when clicked on it just posted something in that remarks box so , so far can't figure how to get it over here but saw the orange flag...this site is great though, and am rarely going over to the other, it seems terminal there and I hate to be around that if at all possible .{Here is where I wanted to put a smiley, LOL, so imagine it}

Did you use the "Quick Reply?" There are two replies. The quick one doesn't let you do any formatting. The plain "Reply" will take you to a separate screen.

I just figured out how to edit a reply. There's a "modify" button!

Hi Dezi. Addressing the things in Red font from your questions...

1. all the features of this site came with it. All I had to do was create the various boards. Therefore I take no credit.

2. yes there is a quote feature. to do what *i* just did, and make it so you can see exactly who is being quoted you just click the "quote" link. There's on at the top right of every post that looks like this:



OR- use this reply link which brings up all the available formatting options as kgb said..

look for the button like this . When you click it, it will put some code in brackets. you just paste your quote in between them

hey moon...kpad here...been a busy little gal i see...nice job...a question for you... is there a way to post youtube links that will show the artwork or album cover as it does on the other boards??...i've tried several ways and can't seem to get it to work...thanks...

KPAD!!!! so good to see you! If you use the "reply" link at the bottom right of the page (rather than the quick reply text box) there is a button that has the youtube symbol. I used it and it looks like this or have you done that already.. <moon goes off to stalk kpad>

But that stick figure avatar just made the site not safe for work for anyone that isn't already blocked.

I hate, hate, hate being the voice of prudery but someone has to bring up this subject. A decision has to be made as to whether to make this site safe for work or not.

you honestly think that it's not work safe? i don't personally consider it to be bad. in fact, i know of one other that would be less work safe than mine.. and i wouldn't worry about that one either because they're so small.

If someone is concerned that an avatar like moon's may be NSFW, they can always disable avatars in their profile settings

I think it could cause problems for some people in some workplaces. The world is full of prudish people.

The movement really catches the eye and who knows which position it will be in when someone notices it. If you watch the whole sequence, it has a wonderful, agnostic (or perhaps polytheistic) charm, but not everyone is going to watch the whole sequence before forming a strong opinion.
