So I was at one of those sites the the other night that "suggests" things at other sites. I clicked on going to a site with an article about President Obama. It was talking about Democrats that in general like him, but mostly don't like the things that he has done. (I guess the article was based on a pole). Anyway the take on it that the author had was that the media was responsible for the general public feelings because it hadn't made fun of him like it did for President Bush. It then listed the "mistakes" that he had made & how long they were talked about & comparing them to President Bush.
I have to say that I agree (but I'm sure that a lot of people would assume that I would agree being a conservative). He has put his foot in his mouth a LOT (just about every time there isn't a TelePrompTer in front of him) & very little is made of it in the media. I thought the flap over Israel was huge but didn't get near the reaction that it would have had it been someone else. Imagine if President Bush had screwed up the toast to the queen? That would have been the butt of jokes on TV & news programs for a solid 2 weeks at least, yet just a few comments here & there.
I just find it interesting & wonder if anyone else has noticed it. Oh & I'm not just talking about conservatives, You don't have to agree with someone to admit that you've noticed they are being treated differently. Any comments?

...I'm an I... I've noticed it, too... my (good) memory only stretches back to Carter, but TV coverage has varied from WH to WH, and I think the more conservative POTUS gets more roasting... imo... ...having said that, I also think the quality of SNL and late night talk shows have declined in the last 20-25 yrs, and so maybe they've pounced on politicians for camera fodder to keep their screenwriters' costs down? ETA: not to hijack the thread, but I suspect the last couple decades of declining educational performance has likewise increased the phenomenon of our getting news from TV entertainments, too...

Obama enjoys an unprecedented level of protection by the lamestream media. They are now primarily serving the purpose of the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party, which obviously includes actively suppressing any negative news about the president and his advisors...

This is the internet version of "Telephone." Um, somewhere I read about this site, and it said stuff and talked about things and all that. Wow, imagine treating a bad president differently than a good president. And remember when anyone that complained about the president was told they were unpatriotic, even when there were no WMDs found? And Bush left office with an approval rating somewhere in the mid-twenties. Did you CONveniently forget that fact? Or are you a "treatment communist" and believe everyone should be treated the same no matter who they are? Over two years have passed, maybe it's time to put the "let's bear the cross for Bush" routine away, especially since you complain about him in other threads. And there's yet another CONtradiction. You know the Orwellian Ministry of Truth is NOT supposed to be emulated? But like sour grapes knee-jerk reactionaries, Conservatives are crying about how unfairly Bush was treated (they must be that minority that gave him that good approval rating, I guess). Now, get a post-it note, write this down, and stick it on your computer: Bush was treated like he was because he was a bad President. Hope that helps. Wow, since I see negative news, they must be doing an awfully terrible job of doing such a thing; it's so poor, why it doesn't seem like they're doing anything at all! Just look at the threads on this very board. It's really pathetic that the counter-evidence to your claim is right in front of your face when you come here. (BTW, just in case you haven't figured it out yet, here's a link: notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=politics ) But I suppose things like "truth" and "reality" take a back seat to your ad nauseating, drum-beating, catchphrase repeating posts.

After your comments mkitty I can only say wow! So I'll shift gears from my general question & reply to them.
President Obama is only a good president if you are a socialist or just not quick enough to figure out that he is a socialist. He's agenda is not one for this country (much more aligned with old Russia). He has cut our throats with our friends over seas & seems to be trying to become a "buddy" to the Muslim's. Not really surprising when you consider that his good friend & minister is anti American (at least the white half of America). Then of course he used a buckshot approach to stimulating our economy (& spent money - a lot of money - that we didn't have) which of course failed because it was basically a basket of Democratic garbage developed as Congressional pet projects (that couldn't get passed). Might I suggest next time you try reading the post and actually trying to understand what they are asking. I wasn't trying to push MY conservative agenda but just asking if others (even others that are of the Democratic religion) had noticed that the coverage of those 2 Presidents is a bit different. Nothing more or less. Then I check back & get your garbage hate filled reply.

There are definitely similarities between Bush and Obama...a lot of them. There are also some differences, mostly in the way their consistencies are percieved. For example:
Two wars under Bush = warmonger Three wars under Obama = give that man a Nobel Peace Prize!
The Afghanistan surge under Bush = terrible idea, didn't work (i.e. "General Betray-us") The Afghanistan surge under Obama = brilliant idea, turned the tide of the war
High gas prices under Bush = devious government at work High gas prices under Obama = devious oil companies (probably in cahoots with Bush) at work
Gitmo under Bush = war crime Gitmo under Obama = Gitmo's still open?
Enhanced interrogation under Bush = torture Enhanced interrogation under Obama = the hell you say!
The war on terror under Bush = cowboy diplomacy The war on terror under Obama = Muslim outreach
High unemployment under Bush = 6% High unemployment under Obama = really it won't go over 8% if you pass this stimulus/pork bill RIGHT NOW! DON'T READ IT, JUST SAY YES!!!

Old Tex,
Don't be too hard on Mkitty...probably bashed Bush for all his policies and then changed tune when Obama continued along the same lines. Partisans rarely attack those in their own party.
