Something came to me , happens to all of us at times. You think of something unrelated to anything, just comes up out of know where, and It came up with a guy named Joel , funny Brooklyn New York accent. NFL guru. I listened to him when I lived in Houston,TX, I am not even a big Football fan, watch some games but really, no biggie to me, live in south Florida, Miami wins , great, loses, to bad, next. However I marveled at this guys, with the weird voice, was he really real, expertise about anything Football, especially the players. I could not remember for the life of me his last name and did a google along the lines. "NFL annalist passed away Joel " and sure enough good ole google up comes so much , like hitting gold, and this article I found said it all . www.jetsinsider.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-46551.htmlFor those who had listened to him or followed the Draft in the NFL Read " Pro football Weekly", he was printed weekly, and came out with a yearly draft report. This story on him, link posted, if a NFL aficionado, a Junkie, you might be interested in reading it. Joel passed at 48 Dec 29, 2002..to young, and is a legend. Joel wrote a book on the yearly Pro draft, it would run to two hundred pages, and would put in short comments on the players he rated, following typical remark. "In his yearly book, he detailed players' strengths, weaknesses and personal information. He threw out one-liners, too: "Looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane." "It's a $20 cab ride to get around him." So for you aficionado's of Football but did not know him , you too might have a interest and I am sorry you never heard him and his weekly reports of what was going to happen..you would never miss his voice, in a way him too, as like me, nine years or so after his passing, out of know where comes this thought..
