I track my net worth on NetWorthIQ. So, I check on my vehicle's kelley blue book value most months. I have a Honda Accord. For several months, I have noted that the estimate of my car's value has risen. The first month, I thought perhaps I had previously used the wrong mileage. But it just keeps happening, so now I am wondering....is the value rising because fuel efficient cars are in demand?
Anyone else noticed anything similar?

You might be onto something. I just checked KBB and I swear my Civic has has been within the same ballpark figure for years.

I looked up the KBB value of my 97 Civic a month or so ago when updating my NWIQ profile, and was surprised that it was worth $2,200 (we paid $2,800 2 years and 60,000 miles ago). I would have thought $2K or so.

I have mine on networthiq as $6200, and it has actually risen to nearly $7000.

I do the same thing when I do my monthly updates to my spreadsheets. My 2007 Honda Fit has gone from ~$8700 in January to $10000 this month. Also - I'm glad someone else does this. DBF makes fun of me for knowing these kinds of things.  |
