And how much are you spending? I haven't spend a red penny yet and it's Saturday night. All I've done all day is watch movies (Netflix) and read a book I borrowed from the library specially for the weekend. Tomorrow Sunday I'll clean the condo top to bottom, do laundry, do grocery shopping and cook. Watch more movies and keep reading. Monday, if the weather is nice I may go to the park. It doesn't sound like much but I needed the time out. It's been a busy semester at school with 15 credits, and next week I start summer classes. Plus my work place is really stressful right now. I would love to spend the weekend somewhere, but I went to Boston for Easter, spent $ 350, and that blew my budget. So I am sitting at home while my best friend spends the weekend in Washington D.C. But that's fine because my mother is coming to visit from the old country and we'll go to Washington when she's here. Total I plan to spend on this weekend; I guess about $ 50. What about you?

We started to slowly but surely move into our new apartment today.
We spent $16 on lunch at Burger King. About $12 at Subway for Dinner. I fill up my my tank at the gas station for $47 My wife made us stop at Bed Bath and Beyond and we spend another $27
Tomorrow we will be packing, moving all thru the day as we did today, and Monday we are going to her family house for a BBQ. So we might spend some money on lunch tomorrow and more gas on monday since we are driving to Long Island.

We chipped some brush in the yard today and he may work tomorrow. We go anywhere today, he may work tomorrow and Monday. I cleaned out my truck and thought about going to the hardware store but didn't go. My brother got a new camp site and I hoped to get invited but I haven't yet. I want to get them a picnic table so needed to clean out the truck. The table I want cost $169 but I need to talk to their son to see if he is getting one for his dad for Father's day or his birthday. SIL said the kids are getting him a easy chair for the RV but the son said he was thinking picnic table.

I'm working including working Monday. Last week we closed the acquisition of a 2000 person company and we are doing IT integration this weekend. Because of the large foreign presence, Sunday 3pm is a big influx of users onto our systems for the first time..
I'm exempt, so no extra pay for the work, but I also have no time to spend money.

I spent about 5 bucks for potato salad ingredients to take to a BBQ yesterday. I ate really well there and then was able to take about half of what I brought back home.
Today will be a quiet day- just cleaning the apartment and relaxing. If I go shopping tomorrow it will have to be on the German economy. I may go to some outlets that a friend just told me about.

What are you sulking about?
I'm going to buy some more gardening supplies to work on my garden and hopefully make that money back in my crop yield. We ate out last night. We might go to a movie. We also get to clean, yay.

Something I shouldn't be, I suppose, but it just rubs me raw and because I have to be a good sport about it because otherwise it makes me look bad as opposed to the guilty party feeling the effects, it makes me even sulkier. ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png)

We've had an insane couple of months. Easter weekend, followed by an overnight in Omaha for the Berkshire-Hathaway meeting the following weelend, then leaving for Spain the following Monday (5/2). Came home from a wonderful but busy trip on Friday 5/13, both of us with colds, I had a triathlon on 5/22, DH's cold turned into pneumonia. Work has also kept me busy.
So, this weekend we're doing very little. Saturday AM I helped plant lilac and peony bushes on the church property, Saturday afternoon I went to a party to celebrate the marriage of a couple of wonderful women, and other than church today there is nothing major planned. Reading good books, venturing into our pool and taking a look at our investments are the only things on the list. I really need a long weekend! Fortunately, DH is coming around with the latest antibiotic prescription. Thety were talking about putting him in the hospital for IV antibiotics if he didn't get better.
Cash outlays: not much. The usual grocery expenses and church donation, a 2-pack of Boulevard Beer for yesterday's party.

Yesterday was "shop local" day for me. I picked up some meat at the butcher, a baby gift and a housewarming gift at a couple of local stores. And a tart frozen yogurt for me, because, well, I needed it. I need to grocery shop today, which will be my other big expense for the weekend.
The socializing part of the weekend - hanging out with friends, a run in the park and studying (that last bit isn't particularly social, but needs to be done) - has all been free.
Sorry to hear about the sulking, zib. Hope your weekend picks up from here.

We had our BBQ on Friday. I think I spent about $50 on beer and food. BIL, SIL, and BFF also brought dishes to pass. The rest of the weekend we are working on home repairs to get the house ready to rent out. So far we have spent about $350 on that. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) We have a lot to go. Today DH and I are going to a local bar and grill for their yummy brunch and Bloody Mary Bar. That will be about $30.

Did my grocery ($85) and dog food, salmon oil &treats ($109) shopping yesterday. Had dinner with friends (DH helped them cut and stack firewood) last night. Took wine and dessert. Will work in the yard today putting some lady's mantle that friends gave me ($00) and DH is continuing to build a series of terraced walls ($$$$$).. Tomorrow will be spent helping grandson prepare for a history project - a three page paper and 20 min powerpoint presentation that is due Tues. I'll sure be glad when school is out.

love it ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) I'm watching netflix, mending and "fixing" a gate (need to make it hinge on the other side so I'll be turning it upside down and replacing the cheap plastic currently fronting it with some wood boards I have on hand). Had to buy a better saw and found one that works great on sale for $30. Throw in $5 in screws and not too bad for a new-looking gate ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Went to the property today to talk to a guy about starting the ground work. No money but gas money spent there (a climb of about 2300 feet in ~8 miles/20 minutes)--steep enough that I can just put the car in neutral for most of the drive down the mountain and never go below the speed limit... Of course, when the estimate comes in in a week or two I'll be spending lots of money (we are bartering some though, I'll trade timbers and firewood for part of the work). I put a couple pics of the property on EE--the trees are huge. No money spent on food--pulled steaks out of the freezer and fired up the grill for last night's dinner and today's lunch. Pulled out a roast to thaw for tomorrow night, dinner tonight will probably be tacos since we have everything we need on hand. Athena--hope your husband is feeling better!

On Saturday, we spent much of the day helping to staff an adoption event for a local no-kill animal rescue at a local pet store (about 8 hours). Then we came home and did stuff with our foster kittens and had dinner in. (We did grab lunch out while at the adoption event, but that's part of our normal plan.) Today, we've just done normal Sunday stuff, and did our normal grocery shopping. I'm also doing laundry, and will probably do some weeding and painting. And I posted some foster kitten photos and bios to the www.Petfinder.com website. Tomorrow (Monday), we'll MIGHT attend a Memorial Day event.... but my wonderful DH (who is active duty military) doesn't get that many days off, so we may not. His plan is to get a haircut, and I think our only specific agenda item is to purchase paper towels. Yep, we lead exciting lives, huh? (grin) ;D

DH and I, with a TON of help from his parents, finally finished our flower garden today! I wish I could figure out how to post pictures on here, it looks amazing (much better than the sparsely grass-seeded dirt strip left by the sellers ;D). It is about 6' wide x 50' long.
Ended up costing ~$500 - but we got very lucky to get quite a few things for free.
Paving stones (for retaining wall and garden border) = $150 Rototiller = $220 Hiring the neighbor to move a 6' pile of dirt left by the builders = $50 Rake, knockout roses, miscellaneous stuff from the garden store = $30 Flowers (from MIL, the flower whisperer) = FREE Compost and mulch (from the recycling plant) = FREE (with a lot of shoveling!)
My legs are about to fall off! Tomorrow is going to be a lazy day for sure.

My SIL arrived Friday to stay with us for the weekend. The rest of DH family showed up today for a grill out at our place. They just headed out about an hour ago. It cost us about $30 in extra groceries. The biggest waste is I tried a new dip recipe with a lot of store bought fresh herbs that was just nasty and had to be thrown down the drain. We skipped our normal Sunday brunch so I could get things ready for the BBQ, so I guess that pretty much paid for the extra groceries.
Tomorrow I plan to stay home and try to recover from hostessing.

Yesterday, we didn't do anything. It was fantastic! Also, we are getting over our colds so it helps to do nothing. ;D
Today, we rearranged our living room and family room. Basically, we flip-flopped rooms, but we thono we'll like the arrange better.
Therefore, no money spent yesterday and today as food-wise we have used what was on hand or what I purchased from the grocery store on Friday.
Tomorrow, not exactly sure what we are doing. DH may do some painting and finish moving things that didn't get to today. He'll also be making some ribs on the grill. YUM!! ;D In the evening, I'll be volunteering at the cat rescue organiztion I volunteer for so I'll be using some of the gas in my car but don't need to buy anything. However, I wouldn't be surprised if DH had to go to Home Depot to pick up anything to finish the rearranging.

I am beat already! We were in Capitol City this weekend for their art festival and I bought some awesome stuff. We went out for dinner when we got home tonight, plus hit up Whole Foods for picnic foods and some calla lilies (one of the things I bought was pottery vase). Tomorrow we are going canoeing with some friends, hence the picnic supplies.

We went on a mini-vacation to a local Sheraton and spent $ 194 plus the cost of pet-sitting, for another $56. We then spotted the car of the nutjob near our neighborhood, ( verified with license plate # ), and figure she's about to deliver another summons for one of her lawsuits against my husband, probably to the tune of another $15k. So, he spent the night in a local motel. We got the Freddie-Mac foreclosed condo sale back on track, and hope to close on it this Wed. My husband & I have our LLC ready to go, and will be working on it after we close to get it made into the perfect Honeycomb Hideout ! We hope to escape more courtroom madness with this maneuver, plus we can rent it out after she eventually drifts into full dementia. Carrying costs for the taxes & condo fees cost $ 300 per month, which is cheaper than $ 250 per hour for legal fees to defend ourselves against nuisance lawsuits.

hugs, zib. ![](http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/heart.gif) patstab, a Bosch? <drool> I've got a kitchen overhaul coming up, I'm jealous! this weekend for me has been "punchlist closure" - basically everything that's left over from all my house projects since moving in. the end goal was to have nothing left on that punch list except the flooring and kitchen overhaul. Mom and Dad are my primary workforce - I am the third worker, and feed/lubricate them well while they are here. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I'm on track to have 95% of it done by the end of tomorrow. ;D quite frankly, I'm surprised that Discover hasn't called me by now to ask WTF? Mom (aka Chief Painter) came by on Friday morning while I was at work - since she works 4x10s and has Fridays off, to survey the painting scope. in advance, I picked up a quart of "ultra-pure white" for baseboards/wood paneling and a gallon of ceiling paint. after starting on the ceiling touch-ups, she decreed that the entirety of my ceilings needed to be repainted so the touchups didn't stick out. early yesterday, I picked up a 5-gal barrel of ceiling paint for when the gallon ran out. while Mom was painting the 1st floor ceiling, Dad and I hung my bathroom mirror (another YM thread), bought and installed a replacement toilet for that same bathroom, plus all the chrome hardware fixtures. we also finished painting the white paneling for the lower portion of that bathroom's walls, and did some repairs to the toilet in the other half bath (contractor special johns?). oh - but after 4 years, I can finally say - my full bathroom is finally DONE! ;D today, we realized that the 5-gal barrel of ceiling paint was totally overkill - Mom hadn't finished the 1st gallon, and she was almost done with the 1st floor! ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/yikes.png) Dad and I returned it, unopened, and picked up a 2-gal tub. the 5-gal was $98, the 2-gal was on sale for $30. yeah, good call. we also picked up bug spray, and tackled the patio/interior seams. oh, and took care of all the patio weeding, while taking breaks to watch Indy. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) holy crap, what a finish to that race, right? tomorrow, Mom is coming back to finish the 1st floor ceiling work, and to start on the 2nd floor. I will be sandblast-cleaning the house from top-to-bottom, avoiding getting in her way. I hope to get some time in the sun in the AM before she gets here, but she's an early bird. maybe we'll have lunch on my patio, and get some sun in then. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Friday, I got ready for my garage sale, DH and I then went for a fish fry, about $30.
Saturday: I had the garage sale, made $222. Unfortunately, the crib and the double jogger stroller didn't sell, so I have to figure out what to do with them.
Sunday: Took DD to breakfast because DS was at a friends sleepover, DH was working, and I had to leave the house to get milk anyway. $15. Groceries later on in the afternoon, $137.
Monday: Hanging with the kids. I'll probably get them ice cream later.

I'm working today and taking Friday off instead. Bought gas ($15), groceries ($54) and take out Chinese ($12) this weekend. A trip to Sam's was $70, to restock on cat supplies, laundry stuff and a few other things I buy in bulk.
If I get off at a decent hour and the sun's still out, I will probably take myself to the pool and hang out there with a book for an hour.

Lakehouse, started to teach the kid how to drive (car and boat), cleaning, reading. Spent the usual money - food, groceries. Got to write the yearly big tuition check here pretty soon, so it's hard to just go be spendy. The private school is worth every single penny.

I am working in the yard, trimming shrubs. Had to replace two large maples due to disease--( steganosporium, I think)--at a cost of $1300. That included removal of old trees, cost of new trees and planting them and some additional mulch.
Doing laundry, spray painted the last piece of furniture from the porch so I could re-purpose it upstairs. That cost about $15 for the paint.

I'm cooking a pork roast in the crockpot. My DH doesn't eat beef (cholesterol) so this is as close as I get to a pot roast. Yum. We went to Lowe's to buy the stuff to redo the bathroom cabinets while he is in Phoenix for four days. I changed my mind about the Rustoleum product (different thread). I didn't realize that this was the same product my daughter used on her countertops. They are "ok" looking, but it still looks amateurish. It would have been $80-$160 (I couldn't figure out if I needed 100 or 200 sq. feet). I bought a gallon of really good primer, a gallon of the better paint ($27 a gallon), and smaller foam rollers. On sale, it came to $55. Oh, and I bought a $3 pizza yesterday as noted in another thread. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I am officially "out" for summer beginning Wednesday. Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a flex day that I used a Saturday literacy conference to cover for. But I'm allowed to be lazy for at least one more day. We always have a project list every summer.

I just about finished all my cabin duties. I did some garage saling on Friday (can't believe what junk was out on Friday). Started out the same on Sat but got to the Pet Rescue yard sale and saw they were swamped. They had tubs and tubs of stuff from an estate they they were still trying to unload. I asked them if they needed any help and stayed for 3.5 hours. Then after lunch I stopped at a couple more garage sales and started to score. Picked up about 10 old fashioned tins for the tops of the kitchen cabinets (for about $.50 a piece), a ton of silver-plate flatware for $5. and three cereal bowls in my cabin pattern for $.30. Also 3 pillows for $1 and some other assorted stuff. Sunday afternoon my friends and their two kids came up and spent the night. They brought a ton of food and barbequed. The husband also barbequed a whole chicken for me to eat on over the week. That was really sweet! Of course we stayed up late and drank too much. The wife and I went on a beautiful 6.5 mile hike in the morning climbing 2000' in elevation. The views were amazing and the weather was perfect! They left after lunch. It seems so quiet without them! I gave them keys so they can use the cabin the week I'm driving to Portland/SF Bay Area. I've never seen the husband so happy and relaxed. 'scuse me now, the squirrels are demanding their peanuts! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)
