Mike Wallace's son Chris, following in his famous conservative father's footsteps as an ace bang top notch journalist, will interview Congressman Allen West at 2PM Eastern with a replay at 6PM.
Congressman West is not known for being a shrinking violet, so it should be a spirited hour.
A couple of people on here seem to say we should just discount what the former Army Lt. Colonel Battalion Commander does and says in his current job because he is primarily working on getting moved up to something more influential. The Congressman's last employment was as a school teacher. Before that he was an adviser to both Iraqi and Afghanistani national security and military trainers and before that he made world wide liberal media headlines as an army Battalion Commander during the war in Iraq.
Liberals like to label him as a loose cannon, (to which he has said "thanks, guys"), for having sacrificed his own army career by engaging in some heavy interrogating of a turncoat Iraqi security officer and saving American lives during the war in Iraq.
His combined duties as a Battalion Commander and later as an adviser to Iraq and Afghanistan security and military forces have contributed to the defeat or reduce the effectiveness of insurgency operations in both countries.
The Congressman is more than a successful military action figure. He also has degrees in political science and if you have not heard him speak you are in for a treat, regardless of the circumstance. Simply because, first off, he doesn't rely on a teleprompter, and secondly, he can't write notes on the palm of his hand either. That's because no ink would work well enough, and that's because he is black.
Sunday on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace at 2PM Eastern and a replay at 6PM.

Well, I'll have to watch it again when it replays. The audio was just barely out of sync with lip movements and they talked over each other so much I think I missed the salient points being made. But I did notice Allen West had some back-up from the financial world for his position/s and Congresswoman Donna Edwards had the gift of apparently being able to talk, think and listen all at the same time. I give her that credit because I didn't see that she had much of anything else gong for her.
Well, she did have the first canard the left ever brought out, , , , back when Wilson was fighting the First World War. . . . Tax the wealthy.
That's how taxes on the rich went from 6% to 92 percent over the span of just a few years. I read many years ago that tax rates like that took so much money out of the economy that they helped contribute to the Great Depression, but course you can ask any Democrat and you'll find out that, , , , , things are different now.
I'll watch the replay and see if I got it right the first time.

I just watched it again, and I think I had it about right the first time. They fixed the audio sync so it was easier to keep up.
This time it was plain that Congresswoman Edwards is riding a one trick pony. to paraphrase , , , "Raise the debt limit, raise taxes to pay for two wars and current entitlements, and then discuss the future of medicare and taxes on everybody else '. . . .
West says Obama should listen to his debt commission. They said entitlements in general are killing the country's future regardless of taxes.
West said he had a Wall Street Journal piece dated May 26th that projected a 62% tax rate would be needed to meet the projected cost of current entitlements.
If that is true, I wonder what liberal here is in favor of those 62% tax rates, keeping in mind that people can either use their 62% to keep the economy alive or they can give it to the government and have it end up in the hands of people who make it a career of collecting entitlements.

I saw the 62% tax rate on some news site yesterday. I'll see if I can find it. It IS what is happening, all things factored in. Let me go look. TH, maybe.

Thanks, krickitt. I got this as the point message from the article: What all this means is that in the late 1980s, the U.S. was nearly the lowest taxed nation in the world, and a quarter century later we're nearly the highest.
Despite all of this, the refrain from Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and most of the Democrats in Congress is our fiscal mess is a result of "tax cuts for the rich."
(And then the author asks. . . . When? Where? Who?
The Tax Foundation recently noted that in 2009 the U.S. collected a higher share of income and payroll taxes (45%) from the richest 10% of tax filers than any other nation, including such socialist welfare states as Sweden (27%), France (28%) and Germany (31%). And this was before the rate hikes that Democrats are now endorsing.

Yep, Henry, and if you look at the Bilderberg list for the last several years-- Geithner is in attendance. People like the Bush and Clinton families are laying low these days.. all OVER past lists. Time to put the screws to people. TOO BAD it is just theory they operate from , and in practice they are making a HUGE mistake. We can just hope West and his type can stop this, or we are going down the toilet. WATCH that Bilderberg list for this year and next-- if we can find it. NO vote for anyone on that list, or associated with anyone on that list.

Seems I recall Lakota taking Bildenberg people to task as being at the center of one world government or something. I wonder if that holds true when his number one idol has buddies on the membership list.
I'll bet not. I'll bet he has no objection to it now.
But that's okay. Americans have the right to change their minds. It's part of being an American.

"........... "tax cuts that weren't paid for"........"
Yeah, , , , like the huge percentage of Americans who maxed out their credit cards and then filed bankruptcy. Why not, with the government as a role model?
"Paying for tax cuts", , , , a reference to logic that only a Democrat could make.
Everybody else would do what common sense says do: CUT SPENDING!!!

Wow. Just wow. The Democratic Party is so void of ideas, it's really just pathetic. Once again, the liberal Democrat was out of her depth. She simply kept spouting talking points where Allen West had fact after fact after fact after fact.
My favorite part was when Allen West accurately pointed out that only one of the two of us has already voted to strip $500 million from Medicare and that the President's plan for Medicare cost savings is essentially 15 bureaucrats "reviewing" payments.
Sarah Palin called this a "death panel" and correctly noted that by refusing payments and delaying treatments-- as they do in every single payer system the world over people die, and voila-- money saved.
But whether you call it a "death panel" or a rationing board-- they do the same thing: drive doctors and pharamceutical companies out of business, lower the quality of care for everyone.
Eventually the single payer system goes broke anyway, and you develop a two-teired system where those with money go to the private hospitals that inevitably spring up, and everyone else waits in a Soviet-style bread line to be abused by bureaucrats with all the personality and efficiency of postal workers in hopes of maybe seeing a doctor who can make them comfortable while they die of whatever it was they originally came to seek treatment for.
