I never use to shop online. Recently I've learned that walmart offers free shipping to home on many items & the prices are usually the same as in-store. So now everytime I think of something I need, I run to my computer & start checking prices. Between amazon & walmart I've already had 4 packages come this week & am waiting on 3 more. I am getting good deals (I won't order online if it is cheaper in store) & it is stuff I buy anyway - diapers, wipes, soap, lotion, etc. But, I think I might be overdoing considering the quantities that some of these items are shipped in - I have 6 bottles of lotion & 6 of baby wash coming soon. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) I'm just having too much fun buying online & getting packages in the mail.

![](http://us.social.s-msn.com/s/images/emoticons/thumbs_down.gif) Sorry. I had a friend who got addicted to QVC; she loved getting packages from the UPS guy. If you are stockpiling stuff at normal prices, you're paying too much.

Have you discovered Etsy? My SIL told me about it last Xmas and I've bought about 15 pieces of jewelry since then. I've had to ban myself from looking. ![](http://boards.msn.com/Themes/default/emoticons/red_smile.gif)

I love Amazon and my amazon prime.
However, I never "shop" or "peruse" amazon, I just get what I need and it shows up at my house 2 days later for free shipping.
In almost every instance Amazon is cheaper than retail, plus I don't have to drive anywhere, stand in line, etc.

I was like that when I first discovered CraigsList. I could always find something I wanted to buy at a great price.
Now I make myself not look. Lol.

If you're into collecting airline miles, go through your airline site. You can get points for shopping at Walmart.com or Amazon.com. Here's an example. www.aadvantageeshopping.com/Amazon.com is 2 miles per dollar spent; Wal-Mart is 1 mile. I've gotten 13,000 miles in less than a year, although half that was from 2 purchases (a digital camera from JR.com and diamonds from bluenile.com).

I'm not sure I could be a working Mom without on-line shopping. I did try the grocery thing, but I found I was very picky about my produce, and I like to see what they have and how it looks and touch it, and then buy it. So, I just go to the grocery store and get my weekly load.
But, I buy a lot of other stuff online. It is so easy. I can check out 6 stores and make a decision in the same time it would take me just to find my shoes and my keys. L-O-V-E I-T!

I know somebody who ended up getting divorced because his wife got addicted to QVC and HSN. She loved to order and return, order and return. Said their house was always full of stuff and that was all she did. She was no longer into taking care of the kids or the house.
I do shop at Amazon, but it is when I know I want something and their prices are cheaper and I don't have to drive.

I mainly purchase online during the holiday season. I hate trying to go to the mall or even target during that time of year. Too many rude people running around like crazed chickens with their heads chopped off. I just wait for the mail get the items, wrap them up and tada! I am done with no fuss or muss.

I shop online quite a bit. Usually it is when I know exactly what I am looking for. For instance, right now I am buying clothes for my kids for a cruise (they have outgrown all of their old summer clothes as well). The younger ones like the PS Aeropostle line. I get a lot of 30% off coupons in my email so I am able to order the clothes for fairly cheap.
I shop Amazon a lot during the holiday seasons. 99% of the time I find the stuff cheaper there than in the stores.

Once the new house is built I'll allow myself to start checking out sierratradingpost.com I love that website for rustic and outdoorsy stuff, but right now I'm trying not to spend any money. Once I know exactly what else I'll need, I'll be doing some bargain shopping there. I got a gorgeous wool coat from them a few years ago, always get compliments on it when I wear it.

Angel D you can save a lot of money on a lot of things by buying online. I'm a fan of Ebay (actually I don't like the company but do like the deals that I can find there). Over the years I guess that we average spending about $15,000 per year there. I also like that if you take your time & look you can find just about everything there.

If you're getting a good deal, and buying things you normally buy, then I don't think there is anything wrong with it. We do a fair bit on online shopping for certain things. I LOVE Amazon for college books, you can get new for 20% less than college bookstores, and used for quite a bit less. With 3 kids taking college classes we buy a lot that way. Usually get free shipping plus no sales tax (7 or 8% depending on the college). I also love a site called eastbay for sports shoes. Since we no longer have Circuit City and no Best Buy or other electronics retailer, we have bought electronics online several times.
It is awesome to be able to click a few times and have the items delivered!

If I am buying something, I usually do my research online. If I would see something in a store, I would use an app on my phone to scan UPC code and see if I can buy it cheaper online.

What app is that indebt? I now have a phone (HTC Thunderbolt) that I can get apps on and I would definitely be interested in that! ;D

I maybe able to find a similar one that will work on my phone. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) PS - Good luck on your debt pay off!
