Popcorn wackyaunt Message #48 04/03/10 09:46 AM
Riauditor: Easy...I bought a package of 50 brown paper lunch sacks (I am sure somewhere I could have found them cheaper, but maybe not) put in 1/3 cup of popcorn. (My 32 oz bag of Jolly Time for $1.79 made 13 bags.) Kinda follow the pre-existing folds of the bag to flatten. Roll the opening down 3 times and use a small piece of scotch tape to tape closed. I then folded the bag in thirds to fit in my gallon size freezer bag (kinda like the microwave kind you buy.) When ready to pop, depending on your microwave, flatten the bag like you would the "store-bought" and microwave 2-3 minutes seam side of the bag up. You'll know when it is done, just like the store-bought variety. After it is popped, open, squirt a bit of the Squeeze Parkay (or similar) and a shake of salt. Reclose the bag and shake...then enjoy! Start up costs were higher since I didn't use all of the bags (yet) and I am hoping DH will use only the "serving" size of Parkay when making!
